Bhop wouldnt let this guy get off 100 punches a round. Have u seen bhop fight? Bhop will hold and hit, elbow, head butt, wrestle and do whatever to keep that from happening. some call it being dirty. Some call it being crafty. I call it bhop! lol

This would out work Hop, Dawson, Cloud, etc. This kid has STAMINA…100 punches per round.

Which LHW can generate the purse and exposure? He got no choice regarding his next fight. I take your point tho, I’d rather see him with a few losses but have a fantastic career like Froch than be left with a cloudy legacy like JC

Gwent – we can only go by Cleverly’s form regarding opposition he’s faced…. and to date his career looks to be mirroring Joe C… stay at home and face poor mandatories defences. It’s strange how he’s only calling out and fixating on B’Hop…. probably thinks he can be the old man.

JE….got to disagree with you. Nowhere for Clev to go after mandatories if not Dawson et al. you’re seriously underestimating Clev’s heart

Wow….some hate on here for a fighter who always comes to fight and puts on real entertainment. Saturday night was boring but only because Clev fought within himself.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins by keeping him constantly under pressure. Simply outpunched him. While I don’t think Cleverly is anywhere near as good as Calzaghe, I don’t think this Hopkins is half as good as the one Calzaghe beat either.
Like so many boxing contests it’s a question of styles making fights. And while Cleverly’s admittedly feather-fisted, Hopkins doesn’t put lights out either. So the fight would probably go the distance.
And then it comes down to the judges… and probably who’s fighting at home.

It’s all a smoke-screen. Cleverly’s handlers have decided on a safety-first path for the feather-fisted Cleverly. He won’t face Dawson, BHop, Pascal, Cloud — EVER. Look for a career full of “mandatories” against second and third tier opposition.

how many Boxers have said that before?

Cleverly never was in the ring with anyone half as good as hopkins and he didn’t even beat a world champion to get his belt it was vacant, watching his fight the other night with another nobody bored me to tears

Robert A.

B-Hop beats Clev 8 out of 10 times, regardless of the age difference. It’s just a matter of talent. Hopkins has tons of it while Cleverly has ounces.

Sit down son.

Neil (Pomy)

Dont under-estimate Mr Hopkins. He is a canny-old-fox

I think cleverly would set too much of a pace for Hopkins, cleverly is underestimated, he doesn’t have serious Ko power, but he can dig and sets a furious pace.

U woud think so my friend that he would age eventually

Posted April 22, 2013 1:42 pm

Whould go with b-hop…but good god he has to get old one day, maybe it would be the night he fights Cleverly.

Posted April 22, 2013 1:10 pm

Bhop being the old crafty veteran will give this guy fits!

Posted April 22, 2013 12:45 pm

BHop has forgotten more about boxing than this dude will ever know.

Bernard will use every trick in the book to frustrate due and eventually get ud.

Cleverly by Name Not by Nature

Cleverly is the paper champ at light heavy. He is the poster boy of why there are too many title holders claiming to be champ. He is rubbish. I saw him struggling with a B grader in Krasiniqi the other day. His chin is begging to get broke with those low hands.
