I am not in denial and Lewis won. But he laced the already cut Vitali with a right hand palm job with the laces doing the clean up after the raking, and made the cut far far worse. It was a cheap shot by Lewis.
I noticed the lacing the night of the fight was happening . Vitali gave Lewis a nice split to the bridge of Lewis nose also, may even have broke it.
But, now who is Champ of the WBC World, Vitali Klitschko is Heavy Weight Champion of the World. So, we get the last laugh, Haaa Haa Hahaa.

I’d love to see haye get flogged by Charr. But then again, I’d love to see Haye get flogged by his granny. Am not a big fan of Charr and expect Haye to take this one. And reasonably easily.

Lewis was a bully but he came up against a bigger man in and outside of the ring in Klitschko and resorted to cheating and ghetto tactics to swing a match he was losing heavily. Because Klitschko is a gentleman he didn’t lower himself to such levels and history records the true ‘winner

With a fair ref in Germany prime Klitschko or even current Klitschko would win by KO over Lennox. He won’t be able to engage in illegal maneuvers such as lacing or excessive use of his dreadlocks. Boxing isn’t WWE in Europe like in America that behavior wouldn’t wash. The legtimate boxing world, commentators and historians of the sport such as Bears8881 on YouTube record this result correctly. Ignore the DR Decision

Posted April 12, 2013 2:57 am

The only legitimate loss Vitali had in 47 fights is the Byrd fight… Vitali was a mile ahead of Byrd, but had to quit because a shoulder injury was getting worse by the round and might have threatened his career if he continued … However that wasn’t Byrd’s fault, so he got the default victory. Still, Vitali was always ahead of every boxer he ever fought, was never out-boxed, and never knocked down.

Posted April 12, 2013 2:31 am

The thing is RB…Lewis didn’t win… When a cut that ends a fight is caused by anything but a legal punch you go to the scorecards… Vitali was ahead on all 3 scorecards so he won the fight.

Claiming Vitali didn’t beat Lewis is like saying Lewis didn’t really win the first Holyfield fight — and he beat Evander by a mile.

Posted April 12, 2013 2:26 am

Richard Bulger

No doubt about it Tark & Bears,…Lewis ‘laced’ Vitali while he had Vitali on the ropes. It was a right hand lacing and very much a FOUL. He was desperate and knew he would loose this fight so he did what he had to do to win. A cheap ass win for Lewis. Sure he won, but by a raking foul. But it does not really matter now because now Vitali Klitschko is WBC Heavy Weight Champion of the World. Lewis is a commentator, and VK is The Champ. So, Vitali gets the last laugh and so do we Klit fans get the last laugh. Hah, Hah, Haaahhh.

Ll the lion …watch the fight again and again and still the scorecard was 4 to 2 for klitchko on three judges cards …And don’t change the history dude Lewis was a champion and no one gave a slightest chance to vitally they called him a “quitter” and wasn’t even a mandatory challenger for Lewis ,he had two weeks to prepare for Lewis and whatever you try to say how Lewis was about to retire it dosent change the fact that Lewis for first time in his carrier was forced to fight and was being dominated by vitally most of the fight wich no fighter did that to Lewis not even close !

Lewis beat Vitali Klitschko, took his bombs, standed up to him, Vitali was very good then and in his prime, Lewis was thinking about retiring, done it all, Lewis was very good, beat Klitschko when not firing on all cylinders.

Lou moret!.!!! Very good observation tark. But I still think vitaly dominated most every phase of that fight

Posted April 11, 2013 10:22 pm

Lewis pretty much dominated Holyfield and Tyson, who hardly won a round on my card in their 3 fights with him… They both waited 10 years to fight Lewis, and then only fought LL when all options of getting out of the fight would make them look like cowards.

Bowe had no such pride… He didn’t care who thought he was ducking Lewis.

Vitali dominated Lewis for 2 rounds and was severely cut in the 3rd round… Anybody else and the fight would have been called right there, because of severe slashes that bled directly into Vitali’s eye, nearly blinding him, and giving Lewis the opportunity to land big right hands. None of those right hands hurt Vitali and they barely moved him. The man has the best chin in heavyweight championship history. Vitali was ahead on points at the end of he fight and should have gotten the victory because the massive cuts to his face were cause by palming and scraping with the palm and heel of Lewis’s right glove while Lewis was holding and hitting.

Lewis is well known for holding and hitting and other fouls. When Guerrero fouled Berto with impunity the HBO crew was amazed… “Shades of Lennox Lewis” They laughed. Of course Guerrero didn’t need to foul that much but I think he knew they wouldn’t be called.

What do the Lewis-Klitschko and Guerrero-Berto fights have in common besides the uncalled fouls??? Referee Lou Moret.

vitaly is in the guiness world record books for strait knockouts. for being the fastest, with the most, in the fewest rounds are shortest ammount of time. again, a boxing historian might know that. vitaly klitschKO is a ko machine. he stopped knocking guys out really early after he tore his rotator cuff to hell. as if that had even the remotest thing to do with cris byrd who vitaly was seriously dominating. as if cris byrd punched vitaly in the rotator cuff. vitaly retired a standing champ lennox lewis by way of official loss. vitaly dominated every phase of that fight lennox and 66% of it with one eye. vitaly cleansheeted lennox meaning he outlanded lennox every round of the fight. vitaly dominated range, ring generalship, and compubox, and aggression. lennox came averaging 31 jabs on his opponents per round and was only able to be credited with 51 total for his bout with vitaly. nobody imposed their style on lennox like vitaly did. and you want to exult the cut win? lennox used his age old hold and hit move and laced vitaly out of desperation. lennox used this in multiple fights even his first championship bout and joe cortez immediately told him if he did it again he would deduct a point. leennox used a lot during his career and got away with it alot from beginning to end. lennox was boo’ed and vitaly was cheered. lennox did everything he could not to rematch vitaly. making vitaly see independent dr’s for approval to figth, making vitaly fight other guys, and lennox was trying to secure other fights with anyone not named vitaly, then the wbc stepped in and told lennox vitaly was mandatory and if lennox tried fighting anyone else he would be stripped. lennox then retired. and for the first time in history a standing champ was retired by way of official loss. vitaly retired lennox. end of story. there ya go historian.

Carl Klitoris

Vitali did some great foot work and ring generalship with dangerous Arreola, and counter punched the crap out of Arreola before knocking him senseless.
Vitali takes Haye OUT with the same tactics. And Pulev, I dunno, he looks a bit flabby around the center to me. The jury is still out on Pulev. I say Wlad Knocks Out Pulev cold like he did Brock. Then bring in Donte Wilder and Wlad will knock his ass out also. KO_BROS Rule the top of the HW Division. They Rule it !! Then Fury with a UD and a snore fest win for Wlad.
Right now Wlad is the man and the haters hate it. They hate it. And they have to eat it for another 5 years at least. KOBROS Wlad should fight Vitali and Vitali pulls a Liston and Wlad gets the WBC belt also.

Posted April 11, 2013 8:23 pm

Funny how Lewis didnt want anything to do with Wlad before he lost to Sanders.

Posted April 11, 2013 8:19 pm

Wlad is much better equipped then his older brother, he got a good defense skills from Stewart, he has KO punch (unlike his brother). He is a really good boxer. He could be considered as one of the best. But far far from the best. Just compare Lewis with klit. None has doubts that Lewis in his best would floor Wlad with zero effort. And in the same time Lewis had problems with several boxers, like Holiefield, Tyson, and would have problems with Bow. That tells me all of them would be favorites against Wlad. And definitely against Vitaly.

Posted April 11, 2013 7:59 pm

Wlad was floored by Brewster, Sanders and some bum. Vitaly lost to only decent fighter he was fighting with. All his unique style is get in position and circle counterclockwise around fat or old opponent. If opponent pushing forward, Vitaly just runs. All his advantage are long reach and good stamina that allows him to run away from fat guys like Arreola. If opponent is fast or has a good reach like Lewis, he is dead meet.

Exactly 60s & 70s heavys where slow. Clay etc. modern fighters like Tyson Fury have far better technique. Nobody can beat a klitschko in these hypothetical match ups, it’s a plain fact of evolution. I’m 5″11 284#

Posted April 11, 2013 5:54 pm

Anonymous-it actually wasn’t the same heavyweight dvision in the 60s and 70s. Those guys were slower and weighed a lot less than a nearly 250 pound klitschKO. Frazier was tiny and had one eye. For a historian I’m sure u knew that though. And that frazier even fought below 200 pounds. Now I like frazier. I’m more pro frazier than clay. But that doesn’t mean anything when it comes to the who would beat who when your discussng the greats. Mike tyson himself when asked if he could beat the klitschkos said no. There too big. As was lennox granted mike was less than 8% of his peak when he faced lenox mike was nothing. But mike tyson was being a “realist” the klitschkos and even lennox are too big and good for the old little guys. The klitschkos and lennox also smashed the heavyweight compubox and punches thrown per round. But I’m sure u knew that. There isn’t anyone profesionally around the sport I have seen that claims what u claim in fact they claim the opposite they favor the klitschkos in hypothetical matchups. One needs not go any further than foreman vs lyle to see how wide open, flat footed, and slow that era was. Not even good technique compared to today.

Pulevs just a fad. The haters will all him a bum after he is crushed by Klitschko

Posted April 11, 2013 4:19 pm

@tark..the reason why wlad vs pulev is not made yet is because k2 the see that fight as a huge fight down the road and fighting him now win or lose is not a good move because they one for pulev to more popular and make the fight biger but I promise you wlad will fight pulev before his retirement …the best move would be if povetkin fights pulev first and than the winer of that fight would be huge against wlad but I think povetkin will never fight pulev!

Posted April 11, 2013 4:16 pm

Pulev is the toughest contender in the heavyweight division… Dimitrenko made the mistake of fighting Pulev, and was knocked out with a jab after taking a sustained and serious beating. Ustinov made the mistake of fighting Pulev and his 305lbs did him no good. Pulev gave him a terrific hammering with the jab, and finished him off with a hook off the jab.

Since then Pulev has gone begging for another top prospect or contender to meet him. Maybe he’ll have to settle for Charr. An easy mark, and that fight will also be tough for him to make, but a recognizable name nontheless.

Ordinarily the Wladimir-Pulev fight would have been made already. The “not experienced enough” excuse wouldn’t fly. After all, Wladimir offered Dereck Chisora a fight when Chisora had 14 pro matches against nobody special. I think Wadimir could beat them in very tough fights, but he doesn’t particularly want to talk about Pulev or even Fury. I wouldn’t be surprised to hear Wladimir announce his retirement after he knocks out this 28-0 kid who hasn’t fought anyone remotely as good as Fury, or Pulev.

Reminds me of when Muhammad Ali had Larry Holmes staring him in the face … and opted for a fight with Leon Stinks. The more things change the more they stay the same … But I hope Wlad surprises me and talks about Pulev or Fury (probably Fury) after he finishes off what’s his name.

The Klitschko Brothers are great fighters but how can we say they are the best ever? Larry Holmes, Iron Mike Tyson, Foreman, Frazier, Ali, Norton or even Lennox Lewis… I don’t see how anyone could say thy either Klitschko would beat any of these guys at their peaks. Lewis beat Vitali, ffs get over it. The record shows a TKO6 loss on Vitalis record. That is that. I was a punch that opened the cut, whatever laces or braids did after who knows and, honestly, it doesn’t make a shred of difference. Lewis still won. The Klitschkos are rulers in a very poor heavyweight era.

Tyson lost a few fights, so what, both klits lost. Older one chicken out when got injury first time, and was beaten for 4 last rounds by fat untrained old Lewis and got lucky not to be knocked out, to make you happy. Wlad lost 3 times and was about to loose another one, but was saved by opponent’s injury. Wlad is so great so Many Stewart had to yell at him between rounds to start boxing with right or try to dominate and not to run away. Even his own couch was bored with his sissy fights. Only last fight with Walch he was fighting decently, till got cought once.

Tyson would murdered both klits if they meet him in his prime. That’s their luck, there is no strong challenger in HW division. But even now, i believe Haye will be a favorite in the fight with Vitaly. Arreola against Wlad. And almost each top tall guy in HW division would be better than Vitaly and would be a problem for Wlad.

Unbiased Dane, they are all cherry-pickers. They are not knights from King Arthur’s round table. They are looking for title and money and boxers try to find the easiest way and keep they title when they got it. Klitchkos are not better then others. For example: they avoid tall fighters, one exception was Walsh, but he is way below the champion level. Wlad avoids punchers like Arreola. Vitaly avoids fast fighters like Haye. Eveyone has own style, own weaknesses and strong sides. While both brothers are on a top, they have ability to select who is fighting who. When Wlad is alone, his career will be in danger. Haye was a world champion in both categories. He won 4-5 rounds fighting with Wlad. He is the best challenger and money-wise option for Klits. Why would they run away from him? Because Vitaliy has limited skills against fast guys, and he lost his main weapon with age: reflection. Even lousy Charr was able to reach him in every attack.

I like these comments comming from Klitchko’s fans: “Haye did nothing to deserve a fight with Klits”. Is that an attempt to justify why Vitaly is scared to fight Haye? Instead of Haye Klits choose fighters according to their style and beat them without problem. Haye is definitely the biggest threat for Vitaly and i even think he has a good chance against Wlad.

charr is kind of unbeaten – it was a stoppage in favor of Vitaly. Charr is lousy fighter, but he was braking Vitaly’s defence in almost each of his seldom attacks. Haye has stronger punch, I give Charr 4 rounds. This kind of scare tactic of Haye to beat Klitchko’s opponents with better result.

didn’t Haye goad Vitali after he dispatched Chisora quicker and with a KO?? He’s done nothing at HW?? Well he did beat Chisora quicker and with a KO… now that’s better than a so called future hall of famer did.

Yes Chris, that’s right – hypocrisy generally does come with a caveat.

Posted April 11, 2013 6:35 am

Possibly true, but he’d have a better shot than most of Vitali’s previous ‘roll of honour’, especially at this point. Wlads always been the more mobile and accurate puncher of the brothers yet he struggled to land anything meaningful on Haye, in fact he even struggled to land his ‘ATG’ jab on Haye when the crude and limited Haye presented him with some simple head movement – so would be interesting to see how a faded Vitali gets on with that. Would also be good to see Vitali in a fight with a bit of needle, to see the ‘mean-streak’ come out, if it’s there like he’d have you believe.

Posted April 11, 2013 6:33 am

The difference is that Vitali has actually done something at HW. He gets a pass for fighting Charr. Haye has done NOTHING and constantly calls out the Klits. So when he chooses to fight bums he will be called on it. Go back into retirement you British loser.

Posted April 11, 2013 6:29 am

Haye’s only hope now is to beat former Vitali victims because he has no hope in hell of ever actually beating Vitali himself.

Posted April 11, 2013 6:26 am

Why would Haye, a HW laughing stock, “goad and laugh at” a future hall of famer like Vitali? The joke is on Haye. He’s garbage.

Posted April 11, 2013 6:23 am

The thing is Haye would probably think the poster funny… he can dish-it-out and take it with a smile and a laugh. as a comeback fight, to clear out the cobwebs and to try and dispatch Charr quicker and KO, something Vitali could not do. this would appeal to Haye… if not only to goad and laugh at Vitali!!

Posted April 11, 2013 6:06 am

It’s believable – has the angle of beating a guy better then Vitali did again. Haye’s been out a while and it says a lot that a guy Klitschko fans built up as a legitimate contender when Vitali chose to fight him, is selected by Haye for a comeback fight this prompts a volte-face from the same bunch of numpty’s. Hypocrisy is a constant for the Klit devotee. Charr is and always was a limited fighter and clearly is levels below even a Haye, much like Chisora. It’s a pointless fight. But it is a comeback fight of sorts and there is a sellable angle there for Haye so he may just take it.

lol …. i just saw a poster that Charr has released with him holding Hayes severed head with the “not my toe” written in quotes, lol. He wants to entice Haye and I recon it will work. I dont rate Charr at all but i recon he will get the fight with Haye. I recon Haye takes him quite easily but I like charr’s bravardo. Pulev would be more dangerous but Charr the more marketable with all his talk.

Haye will be fighting Pulev soon, and he will beat him.
