Etim supports Bellew in McIntosh fight

by Chris Walker: With the UFC almost certain to add a monumental Liverpool date to their already congested 2012 schedule, local favourite, Terry Etim, is likely to perform for the rampant organization in his beloved hometown for the first time. For the time being, Etim will have to play the role of supporter, as once again, he cheers on long-time friend, Tony Bellew, from ringside, as he puts his British title on the line against Norwich’s Danny McIntosh on April 13th.

“Bellew’s a good guy and we’re always keeping an eye out on each other’s career,” revealed Etim.

“I’ve been to a lot of his fights and he always brings entertainment and I think that’s one of the reasons that people turn out all the time to watch him. He rarely disappoints and every fight he is in guarantees excitement. The McIintosh one will be no different and anyone going to the Echo Arena next month can certainly expect some quality action.”

Despite his loyalties lying comfortably with MMA, Etim is a keen boxing enthusiast and is a regular amongst the privileged seats whenever top quality boxing makes the journey to Merseyside. Etim had
a close eye on Bellew’s last effort against Nathan Cleverly back in October, and the Kaobon gym sensation believes Bellew is still on track to obtain world honours.

“The Cleverly fight was a special night in Liverpool and it was one that showed Tony is right up there as a top class boxer. He fell just short that night but he came out of it with a ton of respect from everyone because not a lot of people outside of Liverpool gave him a chance. He’s back at the Echo Arena once again and I know he’ll want to put a show on. Like most of his fights, you don’t want to miss it.”
