Chisora talked about a potential fight with Adamek

by Sylwester Jankowski (BoxingNews.pl): According to Polish journal “Super Express”, Dereck Chisora (15-3, 9 KO) met with representatives of Polish television “Polsat” to talk about making a possible fight with Tomasz Adamek (44-2, 28 KO).“Del Boy” came to Poland on Thursday to rest after a tough fight with Vitali Klitschko (44-2, 40 KO) which took place in Munich a week ago. Although Chisora didn’t beat the Ukrainian champion, he became one of the most recognized fighters in heavyweight division.

– We are looking for fights with talented opponents and for better money – said Chisora’s manager, Jerzy Kopiec.

Adamek, former two division champion and current heavyweight contender, also suffered a loss to Vitali Klitschko being stopped by the Ukrainian in September last year. Currently the 35-years old Pole nicknamed “Goral” (“The Highlander”) is preparing for his next fight with Dominican Nagy Aguilera (17-6, 12 KO) which is scheduled for March 24th in New York.

CRUZ & CONYERS READY FOR WAR TONIGHT ON GFL

NEW YORK (February 25, 2012)—TONIGHT!!! Two fighters will look to take the next step in pursuit of championship glory when undefeated Welterweight Ronald Cruz takes on Allen Conyers in a ten round bout as well as USBA Cruiserweight champion Garrett Wilson battling Pedro Martinez in a Philadelphia showdown.

The show, which will originate from Ballys in Atlantic City and is promoted by Peltz Boxing, will be streamed LIVE all over the world on www.gfl.tv at 7:30 pm.

The show can be accessed for just $9.99 by clicking: http://www.gfl.tv/Events/Fight/Boxing/Peltz_Boxing_Promotions_Cruz_vs_Conyers/1335

Cruz, twenty-five years old has a record of 15-0 with twelve knockouts is one of the fastest rising prospects in the world and for that the IBF recently installed him and the number fifteen ranked contender in the world.

The native of Bethlehem, PA has developed into one of the heavy handed punchers and features a devastating body attack that has sent his last eight opponents home before the final the bell.

The most impressive thing about that streak is that he has stepped up the competition greatly during the run. Some of the victims include former National Amateur champion Jeremy Bryan (14-1); the first man to stop the rugged Manuel Guzman; Tough as nails Doel Carrasquillo; Dillett Frederick and his last bout, Cruz scored an incredible fifth round stoppage over the battle tested Anges Adjaho (25-6)

This will be Cruz thirteenth appearance on gfl.tv

“Its been an honor to watch Ronald basically grow up on gfl”, said gfl.tv blow by blow announcer Marc Abrams

“This kid has grown on everybody who has watched him since day one and at just twenty-five with the way Ronald punches, especially to the body; he will be a serious factor for anybody he fights as he moves up the ranks”

Conyers of Bronx, New York maybe the kind of guy who try to match Cruz punch for punch.

Conyers has a record of 12-5 with nine knockouts but he has the thunder in his hands that has him living up to his “Dream Shatterer” moniker.

Conyers won his first eight bouts before dropping fights to the likes of Delvin Rodriguez, James Kirkland, Said Ouali & Carlos Molina.

Sandwiched in between were very impressive stoppages over Jonathan Tubbs (7-1-1—KO 1); Russell Jordan (12-3—KO 1); Then undefeated and now world ranked Derek Ennis (10-0-1—KO 2) as well as impressive decision over James De La Rosa (20-0)

“This has the makings of a war at the highest level. You have Cruz who is perfect but that doesn’t mean anything to Conyers, just ask Ennis and De La Rosa plus the only guys who beat Conyers are legitimate contenders so if Cruz can win here he has to be taken seriously on the world stage”, finished Abrams

In the co-feature, Wilson, who may the hottest fighter in the Cruiserweight division takes on his cross town rival in Martinez in a battle of come forward power punchers.

Wilson sports a record of 11-5-1 with five knockouts and is 4-0-1 with three knockouts an impressive five fight run.

In that recent streak, Wilson has a draw with Andres Taylor (16-1-1); and wins over Aaron (20-2); Former four-time world title challenger Omar Sheika and his last bout when Wilson scored an improbable come from behind stoppage over Chuck Mussachio (17-1-2) in a Fight of the Year Candidiate.

Wilson, who is ranked number nine by the IBF, knows that a win here moves him one step closer to fighting for the World Cruiserweight championship.

Standing in his way is Martinez, who has a record of 6-4 with three knockouts but knows that this is an opportunity that could put him on the same that Wilson jumped into five fights ago.

Like Wilson, Martinez is a guy with ability that exceeds his modest record and he has power in both hands that one shot could mess up a lot of plans that Wilson has.

Martinez is coming off a four round unanimous decision over Elvin Sanchez (4-1) on August 13th in Atlantic City.

Five more round out this exciting card.

In a six round Welterweight bout, DeCarlo Perez (6-1-1, 2 KO’s) takes on Rafael Montalvo (1-1, 1 KO)

In a four round Middleweight bout, Antowyan Aikens (3-0, 1 KO) of Atlantic City rematches Charles Kirby (1-5)

In anticipated bout of Welterweights from Camden, NJ, Luis Cream (2-0) takes on Miguel Corcino (3-1, 2 KO’s)

David Navarro (1-4) takes on debuting Jeff Lentz in a four round Welterweight bout.

In a rematch of Jr. Welterweights, Korey Pritchett (1-1) will look to even up the score with Korey Sloane (2-2)
