Chicago’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, has finalized details of an action packed undercard for this Friday night’s Windy City Fight Night 21 at the UIC Pavilion, featuring Chicago hottest young prospects. Headlining the undercard at Windy City Fight Night 21 are two former Chicago Golden Gloves winners, light heavyweight Junior Wright and super middleweight Paul Littleton.
Evanston born and raised, the 25-year-old Wright has made very quick work of his first two opponents in the pro ranks, stunning crowds in attendance with his knockout power resulting in first round stoppages..
Scheduled for four rounds, Wright, 2-0-0 (2KO’s), will clash with Michigan’s Rogelio Saldana, 1-1-0 (1KO), on the undercard of Windy City Fight Night 21. The 22 year old Saldana scored a first round stoppage of his own on November 5th.
Littleton made his pro debut on December 16th at the UIC Pavilion, stopping Jose Laguer in the second stanza of the scheduled four rounder. The win took place in front of a very large, “loud and proud” turnout of supporters for Littleton.
At Windy City Fight Night 21, Littleton will challenger South Bend, Indiana tough guy, Cesar Martinez, 1-4-1.
On May 20th, Martinez and former amateur standout Ninos Abraham of Chicago, IL went to war over four rounds with most observers clearly giving the nod to the visitor in a bout scored a split decision draw.
Also returning to the 8 Count Productions’ ring is hard hitting cruiserweight newcomer Dimar “Strongman” Ortuz. With devastating stoppages in his first two pro bouts, the Chicago native has quickly caught the eye of local boxing fans and media.
On Friday night, Ortuz, 2-0-0 (2KO’s) will clash with Chicago’s Francois “The Hulk” Russell, 0-1 in a scheduled four round bout. Russell is the brother of middleweight contender Derrick ‘Superman” Findley.
Undefeated junior lightweight Juan Bustamante, 2-0-0 (1KO) of Chicago will look to stay perfect in a scheduled four round tilt against Indianapolis’ Ryan Strickland, 1-3-0 (1KO).
Rounding out the undercard, heavyweights will see action as Tennessee’s Curtis Tate, 3-3-0 (3KO’s) will clash with Cuba’s Alejandro Otero in a scheduled four rounder.
Also featured at Windy City Fight Night 21 are two outstanding clashes, a junior lightweight battle between former world title challenger Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry and hard punching Puerto Rican native Guillermo “The Vampire” Sanchez along with a Chicago cross-town showdown with welterweights Adrian ‘EL Tigre” Granados of Cicero, Illinois clashing with Franklin Parks’ Jaime “The Truth” Herrera.
