Wroclaw/Poland (September 5, 2011) – Vitali Klitschko (42-2, 39 KOs), and Tomasz Adamek (44-1, 28 KOs), participated today in a press conference and talked about their upcoming clash next Saturday. WBC World Heavyweight Champion Klitschko and Light Heavyweight and Cruiserweight World Champion Adamek will face off at Wroclaw Stadium, Poland. In the U.S., HBO will shown the fight at 5 pm (EST)/2 pm (PST).
Vitali Klitschko: “This is my title and I will never lose it inside the ring. I am in very good shape and I cannot wait to show once again that I am the best.
“After my brother Wladimir and me, Adamek is the third best heavyweight in the world. He is definitely better than David Haye who is just a world champion in talking.
Tomasz Adamek: “I have studied Klitschko a lot. It will be a great fight and at the end I will be the new world heavyweight champion.”
Tom Loeffler, K2 Promotions: “This is not only a heavyweight championship fight, this is a worldwide sports event that will be seen in over 120 countries. The soccer stadium in Wroclaw will be sold out with 42,000 boxing spectators and it will be the first show held in this brand new stadium.”

Cartagena set to make his mark on Gamboa-Ponce de Leon undercard
Undefeated bantamweight sensation, Miguel Cartagena is set to once again take Atlantic City, New Jersey by storm on Saturday night, when he faces Dominican knockout artist Christian Cruz (3-2. 3KO’s) in a four round contest on the Yuriorkis Gamboa-Daniel Ponce de Leon undercard at the famed Boardwalk Hall.
The former number one ranked US amateur and two time national champ, Cartagena is quickly making a name for himself in the bantamweight division as a professional. In his first bout on March 26th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey, the 18 year old Cartagena easily out dueled the much more experienced thirty year old Omar Gonzalez (3-5), winning every round on the judge’s scorecards, by scores 40-36 across the board. The bout was on the Gamboa-Solis undercard.
Cartagena followed up his opening victory Omar Gonzalez (0-1) with a two round demolition of Jamie Gonzalez on June 25th at the South Philly Asylum Arena before his raucous hometown crowd. Cartagena of North Philadelphia, PA looked in control from the opening bell and extremely confident as he dropped the man from Puerto Rico, three times, with the last knockdown finally finishing the onslaught at thirty seconds of the second round.
It won’t be easy for Cartagena this Saturday night as he faces Christian Cruz (3-2, 3KO’s) in what may be the final four rounder of his career. Cruz of Queens, New York has shown his power with knockouts in each of his three victories and should be a good test for Cartagena in just his third professional bout.
Cartagena is prepared though for whatever Cruz will bring him. “I am in fantastic shape for the fight and can’t wait to get into the ring,” said Cartagena. “I have had several solid rounds of sparring and I feel great.”
The well grounded Cartagena, who is managed by Moz Gonzalez and Eddie Woods of E & M Management Inc, had one simple message to any of the future bantamweights that are standing in his way of a world title; “Keep your hands up.”

“El GALLO” JOSE ANTONIO RIVERA – PAXTON PROMOTIONS
Paxton Promotions and Worcester MA’s own three-time world boxing champion “El Gallo” Jose Antonio Rivera (41-6-1, 24 KOs) will step through the ropes for the third time this year since coming off of a two year hiatus on Saturday November 5th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT on a card promoted by Jimmy Burchfield’s Classic Entertainment and Sports. Rivera’s opponent at this time is TBA. Since his return to the ring this past May after a layoff dating back to August of 2008, Rivera is looking for his third straight victory in 2011.
His first fight after his two year layoff was a unanimous decision over veteran Luis Maysonet back in May. He returned to the ring to win an eight round unanimous decision in July at the Mohegan Sun Arena over Oregon’s Paul Mpendo.
Rivera is a two time WBA world champion, winning the titles in both the welterweight and junior middleweight divisions, in addition to his first world title, the NABA championship belt back in 2001 after defeating Patrick Byrd in Miami, FL. Rivera defeated the previous undefeated Michael Trabant in Trabant’s home town of Berlin, Germany to win a majority decision in 2003 to win his first WBA world championship at welterweight.
His second world title came at a higher weight class as Rivera at 154 pounds, knocked down Alejandro “Terra” Garcia in Rivera’s hometown of Worcester, MA as he captured his second WBA world title, this time at junior middleweight. Rivera took a two year layoff after losing a WBA title eliminator against Daniel Santos back in 2007, and in 2008, he defeated Clarence Taylor back home in Worcester, MA.
