TECATE CELEBRATES THE CARÁCTER OF BOXING AND HISPANIC HERITAGE WITH DUAL-CITY EVENT
NEW YORK (August 25, 2011) – The biggest boxing event of the year is coming up on September 17, when Tecate, cerveza con carácter, celebrates its heritage and boxing as the sponsor of the history-making double-lineup of Saúl “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Alfonso Gómez at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, and the anticipated Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Víctor Ortiz bout at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Both fights, part of Golden Boy Promotions’ “Star Power” card, will be broadcast live by HBO Pay-Per-View.
Fans in both venues will have the opportunity to watch their respective live fights, as well as a telecast of the other bout, making this the ultimate boxing viewing experience. The night will be further enhanced by a variety of promotions designed by Tecate to tout the character of the sport, its athletes and fans.

To make the event more accessible, Tecate is offering adults $20 back by mail with the purchase of one ticket and one 12-pack or larger of Tecate or Tecate Light at grocery, drug, convenience and liquor stores in the LA area (where legal).
Fans in Las Vegas will also be part of the action through texting promotions for a chance to win tickets to the fight or upgrade their seats into the VIP “Tecate Red Zone”. Brand ambassadors Chicas Tecate will be present at both locations to take pictures with the fans with the most carácter.
