Galaxy Claim Peters Is Trying To Sabotage The Dunne V Kratingdaenggym Fight

Jonny Stapleton – Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym’s manager believes that Brian Peters is so afraid of the Thai fighter that the Irish promoter is trying to sabotage Bernard Dunne’s WBA Super Bantamweight mandatory World Title defense against the interim champion- or at the very least ensure conditions that make it nigh on impossible for the challenger to win..

Terry Laosuwanwathas launched a scathing attack on Peters claiming the promoter is employing delay tactics to guarantee Kratingdaenggym can not get an Irish Visa and hence fight in Ireland.

The Galaxy Promotions spokesman, who admits to making a huge mistake by allowing Brian Peters Promotions to win a record low purse bid for the fight scheduled to go ahead in Dublin on September 26, also stressed serious concerns over other issues.

Including the fact the contract states Kratingdaenggym and his team can not arrive in Ireland any earlier than September 22 four days before the fight making jet lag and weight a serious issue.

WBA rules state the travelling fighters are entitled to and should arrive at least seven days before the bout.

Laosuwanwathas was adamant Dunne’s manager is trying to create as many obstacles to victory as possible for the Thai superstar.

He believes there has been no warm Irish welcome and also complained about tax, TV broadcasting rights and the low travelling party amount. However Peters, the man who brought big time boxing back to Ireland, he is well within his rights as promoter over these issues.

“What Mr. Peters wants to do is to sabotage the fight. He does not want to fight Poonsawat at this time. They didn’t send us the boxing contract or invitation letter until late this week, because they want to make sure that we will have a very hard time in getting an Irish visa. Then if we can’t get the visa on time then they will report to WBA that the mistake has come from our side meaning they have no choice but to fight another contender for their first defense,” Laosuwanwathas claimed.

“We’re in world boxing business for more than 20 years. We’ve been to many countries and worked with many World champions but we never worked with anybody as bad as this before. They want us to experience as many problems as possible before the fight. The contract doesn’t allow us to arrive in Ireland any earlier than September 22. That’s just 4 days before the fight. We have offered to pay all our expenses if we arrived before that date, but they still say that they will only allow us come any earlier. That is ridiculous and dangerous for our fighter,” the Galaxy spokesman continued before stressing despite what they believe to be foul play they will not pull out of the fight and will instead pursue the title with more vigour.

“We will certainly not pull out of the fight. Even though we have got no cooperation from Mr. Peters, despite the poor purse and even though they have been unfair we will still take the fight. As much as they are trying to escape from Poonsawat, we will be working harder to catch Dunne.”
