Williams-Kolle, Arreola-Garcia Weigh-In Photos

Photos by Jan Sanders/Goossen Tutor Promotions- WBO welterweight champion Paul ‘The Punisher’ Williams (34-1, 25 KOs) makes his first move toward fighting anyone from 147 to 168 pounds – a weight span that he wants to take him from welterweight to super middleweight, simultaneously – when he makes the start of what he hopes will be his historic run tomorrow at the Soboba Casino when he jumps two weight classes from welterweight to the middleweight division challenging upset-minded Andy Kolle (17-1, 12 KOs) in the main event of Goossen Tutor Promotions’ first event to be televised on the VERSUS network (9 PM EST/6 PM PST)..

boxingIn making this leap, Williams becomes the first modern day fighter that many believe to be the only fighter capable of pulling off such a tremendous feat. Combined with his skill, Williams’ has the size in height and reach, along with the guts to undertake an endeavor that will not only establish him as a true pound-for-pound superstar, but will send a message to any of the other elite fighters in the four weight classes that ‘The Punisher’ is ready to stand behind his big words. Can he do it? Tomorrow’s fight against Kolle will give fight fans from around the world the answer to that question.

Said Williams “I’m ready to go in and get the job done. My training camp went well and tomorrow night I will take control the way I always do. I’m coming in prepared and comfortable with my weight.”

Speaking of history, the VERSUS co-featured bout will see the unbeaten pride of Riverside, California, Cristobal ‘The Nightmare’ Arreola (24-0, 21 KOs), as he attempts to stay on the road to the heavyweight title when he takes on imposing Puerto Rican heavyweight, Israel ‘King Kong’ Garcia (19-1, 11 KOs). With a win, Arreola will move one step closer to becoming the first Mexican-American fighter ever to win the world heavyweight championship, and he vows not to let his growing fan base down.
