Glenn Donaire to Fight On Brinkley-Griffin Undercard

Reno, NV January 24th, 2008 – Let’s Get It On Promotions is pleased to announce that former world title challenger, Glenn “The Filipino Bomber” Donaire will be billed as the co-main event on their WAR FOR THE WEST card on February 22 nd 2008. The show will be headlined by Jesse Brinkley and Otis Griffin who will be fighting for the vacant WBC-USNBC super middleweight championship..

Glenn Donaire hasn’t fought since suffering a defeat in October 2006 against then IBF/IBO Flyweight world champion, Vic Darchinyan. Referee Tony Weeks stopped the bout after a ringside doctor’s recommendation due to Donaire’s broken jaw. Donaire’s younger brother, current IBF/IBO Flyweight world champion Nonito, avenged Glenn’s loss by knocking out the undefeated Darchinyan in the 5 th round last summer.

Donaire’ Return to the ring is sure to excite the Filipino boxing fans around the world who have followed this boxing family from their beginnings in the sport. A successful performance on February 22 nd could mean another shot at a world title for Glenn. Nonito is scheduled to defend his titles in Dubai on April 4th.

Born in General Santos City, Philippines, Glenn and Nonito are trained by their father and currently resides in Northern, CA.

Also appearing on the WAR FOR THE WEST undercard will be brothers Derek and Tyler Hinkey. Derek (4-0 4KOs) is coming off of a fourth round knockout against Oakland’s Ray Craig. Derek Hinkey is yet to hear the final bell in a professional fight as all of his wins have come by way of knockout.

Tyler Hinkey (1-0-1 1KO) is coming off of a four round draw against the tricky Alvaro Morales of Las Vegas. This was a very close fight between two very talented and experienced amateur stars who met as professionals. Both Hinkey brothers have trained very hard through the holiday season with world renowned trainer, Kenny Adams in Las Vegas.
