This Friday night’s SOLO BOXEO card, LATIN THUNDER, received an upgrade in the main event as David “THE DESTROYER” Lopez of Nogales, Mexico will now be taking on Dominican spoiler David Toribio in a ten round middleweight bout at Cicero Stadium, it was announced Wednesday evening by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING..

Toribio, coming off a SOLO BOXEO televised first round knockout of undefeated prospect Juan Camilo Novoa this past August 3rd in Arcadia, Florida has once again agreed to step in on short notice to face Lopez. Darryl Salmon, originally scheduled to face Lopez pulled out due to illness.

In September 2006, Toribio, 14-9 (8KO’s), now living in Miami, went to the famed Michael’s 8th Avenue venue in Baltimore, Maryland and won an eight round decision over undefeated hometown favorite Ishmael Arvin.

Said Pesoli, “Darryl Salmon pulled out this week due to illness, but our matchmaker Jerry Alfano did a great job lining up Toribio to put together a terrific main event. I’ve seen Lopez fight numerous times and saw Toribio’s recent first round knockout of Novoa and three of his other fights. They’re both real warriors who should put on a great battle for our fans

With former world champion Jhonny Gonzalez in the co-main event and a great undercard with Fonfara, Rita Figueroa and newcomers Ivan Popoca and Henry Coyle the fight fans in Chicago are in a for a great night of boxing.”

Lopez, 32-12 (21KO’s), has won eight in a row, including five by knockout.
