Chicago’s ‘8 Count’ Set for Terrific ‘Solo Boxeo’ Show This Friday Night!

Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, has announced final details of LATIN THUNDER, an outstanding evening of world class championship boxing set for this Friday night, November 16th at Cicero Stadium. Tickets for LATIN THUNDER are available in advance by calling the 8 Count Productions offices at 312-226-5800. Cicero Stadium is located at 1909 S. Laramie, just minutes from the Eisenhower and Stevenson Expressways. Doors for this event will open at 5:30pm with the first bell at 6:30pm..

Headlining LATIN THUNDER is an outstanding ten round middleweight battle between Nogales, Mexico native David “THE DESTROYER” Lopez, sporting a record of 32-12 with 21 knockouts, taking on Darryl Salmon, 16-2 (4KO’s) of Troy, Alabama.

The co-main event features two time world champion Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico City in a ten round super bantamweight bout against Jose Angel “PEPE” Beranza, also of Mexico City. Gonzalez, currently ranked # 5 in the world by ESPN, brings a record of 34-6 with 29 knockouts into battle with Beranza who holds a record of 30-10 (25KO’s)

Also featured in a special attraction bout is Polish born Chicago fan favorite Andrzej Fonfara, 7-1 (2KO’s) who will battle Dave Saunders, 9-3 (6KO’s) of Cincinnati, Ohio in a six round junior middleweight bout.

World ranked female sensation Rita Figueroa of Chicago, 9-0 (3KO’s) will return after a one year layoff from shoulder surgery to face Danielle Christiansen of Fresno, California, in a six round junior welterweight bout.

Newcomer Ivan Popoca, 2-0 (1KO) of Chicago will battle undefeated Patrick Cape, 2-0 (1KO) in a four round welterweight bout.

Rounding out the card Henry “THE WESTERN WARRIOR” Coyle, originally from Geesala, Ireland, 3-0-1 (3KO’s) will face Guy Packer of Battle Creek, Michigan in a four round junior middleweight battle.

The Master of Ceremonies for LATIN THUNDER will be Lupe Contreras, the internationally recognized voice of Latino boxing.

The open to the public weigh-in for LATIN THUNDER will take place at Mariscos El Veneno, 6651 S. Pulaski at 7pm on Thursday, November 15th.
