CHICAGO, December 13, 2006 — CHICAGOLAND fan favorite and ESPN’s The Contender Season 2 participant Rudy Cisneros returns to the ring to face undefeated prospect Eliezer Cepeda at CHRISTMAS BRAWL on Friday, December 22nd, at Cicero Stadium, it was announced today by Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions..

Cisneros, 8-2 (7KO’s) lost a very close decision to Norberto Bravo on January 19, 2006 as part of the filming for The Contender Season 2. A hard hitting brawl from the opening bell, the battle was indicative of Cisneros’ warrior like boxing style. Prior to that fight Cisneros had run off seven straight wins highlighted by a second round knockout of Rudy Cazares at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California on October 21, 2005.
The heavy handed 25 year old Dominican Republic native Cepeda, 3-0 (3KO’s) now fighting out of Miami, Florida has won his first three fights by knockout within the first two rounds.
Sad Pesoli, “This is a very good matchup between two guys at the same age, both heavy hitters and both wanting to fight other solid guys. Rudy’s been off for a while but I know he can’t wait to get back in the ring. Our fans loved watching him fight before he left for The Contender and I’m sure they’ll be excited to see him back in the ring.
“Cepeda’s an undefeated kid from Miami who I’m sure is coming to fight. He’s really impressed people I’ve talked to down there so I expect a hotly contested fight.”
The junior middleweight bout between Cisneros and Cepeda is scheduled for six rounds.
