27.11.06 – Per-Ake Persson: Polish cruiser Krzysztof Wlodarczyk won the vacant IBF cruiser title with a split points win over American Steve Cunningham November 25 in Warzaw. There was an alarming disparity in the scoring as American judge Joe Dwyer scored it 119-109 for Cunningham while the two other judges had it 115-113 and 116-112 for “Diablo”. Promoter Andrew Wasilewiski of Hammer Knockout comments:

“It was a very close fight, there´s no way you can score every round for one fighter. Mr Dwyer has become a very famous man here in Poland with his scorecard. There was a lot of clinching as Wlodarczyk wanted to fight on the inside and Cunningham tied him up.”

Hammer Knockout are back already December 16 with their final show for 2006.

The Martial Arts Delegation in Sweden has delayed its decision on professional boxing until Wednesday November 29. The reasons are that the decisions are final and will set a guideline for the future.

Spotlight Boxing returns to Solden, Austria, December 5 with a show topped by French jr welter Willy Blain. Blain defends the WBO I/C title against Argentinian Sergio Omar Priotti. German heavy Axel Schulz announced his retirement after the loss to American Brian Minto Saturday night in Halle / Westfalen. Schulz told German media he knew he would lose after the first round. It was a big event and marked the comeback for network RTL in professional boxing.

Colas outscored Judicael Bedel over eight and is the mandatory challenger for current EU ruler, Christophe Canclaux.

The almost-a-done-deal Dennis Bakhtov vs Aldo Colliander fight for the interim PABA title December 3 in Ekaterinburg is off. Bakhtov will now fight Ukrainian Andrei Oleynik.
