28,08,06 – Norwegian light heavyweight Kim Jenssen likes to knock people out! In the ring, of course. After winning the Norwegian national amateur championships in 2004, he turned professional later that year in Finland with a fourth-round stoppage over Czech Thomas Vican. Since then he has compiled a record of seven unbeaten fights, with five wins coming inside the distance.. On September 8 in Vejle, Denmark he will be looking to go 8-0 and score another spectacular knockout. The following is an interview made with Jenssen:
Q: Tell us about how Kim Jenssen is as a boxer?
A: I train hard, is physical strong and a hard hitter. I am a fighter-boxer, who likes tight fighting in short distance and infight.
Q: What do you enjoy most about boxing?
A: I enjoy the fact that it’s all up to myself in the ring.
Q: Are you a full-time professional, or do you have a job besides boxing?
A: No. I have a full-time job (10 to 16) at Trondheim Fishing Market
Q: What do you like doing when you are not training?
A: I like very much to go diving and fishing.
Q: You are now 7-0 with 5 knockouts as a professional, and from your record it appears that you have significant power. What can we expect from you on September 8 in Vejle?
A: I expect a tough fight against a skilled oppnent, but he will go down after having tasted the leather to body and head!
Q: How do you feel about the fact that you cannot box professionally in Norway, since it is illegal there?
A: It is stupid. I have no respect of people or politicians, who don’t know anything about professional boxing, who decide what’s best for me and other boxers who wants to make some money out of our sport
Q: Since none of your fights have lasted longer than four rounds, how long do you think it will be before you are ready for a title fight?
A: Give me 2 years or 8-10 more fights, and I will be ready for a title-fight.
Q: Anything you would like to say in closing?
A: I want thank Risum Boxing for the opportunity to box in Denmark. I hope everybody will like my power and style of boxing.
