Luke Munsen will “Hold Nothing Back!” July 29

(July 20, 2006) – Spokane (WA) cruiserweight prospect Luke Munsen (19-5, 13 KOs) steps up in class July 29th when he fights former IBF light heavyweight champion William “KO King” Guthrie (33-3-2, 26 KOs) in a 12-round bout for the vacant IBF International cruiserweight title on the “Hold Nothing Back!” pay-per-view show at Qwest Arena in Boise, Idaho..

Munsen, 25, drew a lot of positive attention in April when he floored former world champion Vassiliy Jirov before dropping a close 10-round decision (98-91, 94-93, 95-94) in Worley, Idaho. In his last outing, Munsen avenged a 2005 loss by technical knockout in seven rounds to Tim Shocks by easily winning a 10-round decision (98-91, 98-91, 99-90) in their rematch June 15 in Worley.

“It appears that Luke is ready to take a step up to the next level and he’ll have that opportunity July 29 against former world champion William Guthrie,” Director of Operations Ritch Danner said. “Winning the IBF International title could propel Luke into a big money fight.”
