The EBU, European Boxing Union, have reacted strongly to a press release from the EBF, European Boxing Federation, and threaten with legal action. The EBF was formed earlier this year and have been joined by the EEBA, Eastern Europe Boxing Association, in Ukraine as well as various martial arts organisations. Over the years there´s been a number of “pirates” on the European fight scene who all have folded sooner or later. If this will be the case here as well remains to be seen.

Italian cruiser Vincenzo Cantatore has again changed his promoter and is now with Mario Loreni after leaving first OPI 2000 and then Rosanna Conti Cavini. Cantatore debutes for Boxe Loreni July 16 against Brazilian Edson Cesar Antonio.

EBU jr middle champ Sergej Dzindziruk now has Spaniard Ruben Varon as mandatory challenger as Italian Michele Piccirillo is moving towards a world title shot.

EU 135 lb champ Abdel Jebahi is finally set to defend the title against Italian Michele Delli Paoli October 4 in Lyon with EuroProm staging the fight. Jebahi vs Delli Paoli went to purse bids a number of times with no one bidding – and when there was a bid it was so low it was decided not to consider it.

It´s nothing new but still deserves to be noticed that retired former WBU heavy champ George Kandelaki is the President of the federation in the Republic of Georgia.

Czech jr middle Lukas Konecny have German Alexander Sipos as co-challenger for the vacant EU title.
