Rock, TNT & HOF Duva N.E. Ringside Radio Show guests

BOSTON (January 28, 2005) – An all-star cast of true boxing characters including former world heavyweight champions Hasim “The Rock” Rahman and Tony “TNT” Tubbs, as well as Hall of Fame trainer Lou Duva, are scheduled to be special guests Thursday night (Feb. 3) on the New England Ringside Boxing Radio Show live on WWZN 1510 The Zone in Boston..

The two-hour New England Ringside Boxing Radio Show – hosted by Ted Bodenrader, Anthony Pepe, Rick Brutti and Joe Bills — airs every Thursday night between 6-8 pm (ET) on The Zone: Boston’s Boxing Station at 1510 AM and also may be heard live on the Internet by going to www.newenglandringside.com.

Rahman (40-5-1, 33 KOs), rated No. 1 by the WBA and No. 2 by the IBF and WBC, presently is in negotiations to challenge WBC title-holder Vitali Klitschko in May. Hasim is one of only two fighters to defeat former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. He “rocked” the boxing world April 22 2001 in South Africa with a fifth round knock out of Lewis in the WBC and IBF title fight. Rahman is coming off of a fourth-round TKO of Kali Meehan last November at Madison Square Garden.

At the age of 46, Tubbs (45-10, 25 KOs) is still in the ring and winning. Nearly 20 years after he captured the WBA crown with a 15-round split decision versus Greg Page, Tubbs won a split decision against previously unbeaten (18-0) Brian Minto for the West Virginia Heavyweight Championship last December. Tony has mixed it up with the likes of Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Tim Witherspoon, James “Bonecrusher” Smith, Bruce Seldon, Jimmy Ellis, and Tyrell Biggs.

In 1998, Duva was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame after 55 years as a boxer, trainer, manager and promoter. Today he is a living legend, actively involved in the sport he loves, and approaching his 83rd birthday May 28. Lou, a close friend of Rocky Marciano, over the years has been involved with a boxing Who’s Who list of boxers including Evander Holyfield, Mike McCallum, Pernell Whitaker, Joey Giardello, Bobby Czyz, Livingstone Bramble, Michael Moorer, Meldrick Taylor and many other world-class fighters.
