24.02.04 – Hitz Boxing and Budweiser present another great evening of world class boxing from The Ramada Plaza O’Hare on Friday, March 5th with a seven bout card headlined by former Soviet Champ and 1996 Ukranian Olympian Vitaliy “The Doctor” Kopytko (22-5, 9KOs). Kopytko returns to the ring following last month’s convincing win over veteran Pat Coleman in a ten round Super Middleweight bout against the slick Manu Ntoh (14-6-1, 9 KOs) of Cameroon. In addition, fans are invited to meet Hitz’ special guest, World Champion Acelino Freitas who will be in attendance to support his protege Brazilian Luciano Silva (2-0, 2 KOs) in his American debut.
Now making his home in Chicago, Kopytko has quickly become one of Chicago’s most popular fighters. This is the year he looks to make his move. “I’m ready for any of the Super Middleweight title holders. 2004 is the year I win my first World Championship.” Ntoh, born in Cameroon and now training in Atlanta, should provide Kopytko with a real challenge as he returns to the ring after his recent second round KO of Jose Spearman.
Former Canadian League Football player Carl ‘Iron Fist’ Davis (4-0, 3 KOs) returns from a brief layoff to face Lamar Stephens (1-0, 1 KO) in a six round Heavyweight contest. At 6’5″, Davis possesses brutal knock out power and natural athletic ability.
Also in action, the much anticipated return of hard hitting Super Middleweight Oscar Bravo (18 – 2, 15KO), Featherweight Jimmy “Superfly” Sandoval (2-0,2KOs) and the professional debut of Chicago Golden Gloves Super Heavyweight Champion Chris Riley.
As a bonus, fans in attendance at this March 5th event will have the opportunity to win two ringside seats to the April 10th Cory Spinks vs. Zab Judah showdown in Las Vegas. Promoter Bobby Hitz has generously donated the seats to thank the many dedicated fight fans who have regularly supported Hitz events.
