In other words, what are your thoughts about him as a man, an athlete, and overall as a person, when he look at his legacy compared to great athletes of the past?

Vivek W. (ESB): This is a very broad question to tackle in just a few paragraphs. I think to best answer it, we have to look at things from day one. When we look at the entire history of Mayweather, we see a man who has had a very storied career that has seen him dominate from a very early stage. Even prior to the professional ranks, you have to consider that there was an Olympic Bronze that would have been a Gold had it not been for a poor decision. From day one, this has been a fighter who has proven himself at every level.

Shiming faces Ortega this Saturday, July 27th in Macao, China

Former two time Olympic Gold medalist from China Zou Shiming (1-0) will be making his second fight of his pro career this Saturday night, July 27th against Jesus Ortega (3-1, 2 KO’s) at the Venetian Casino & Resort, in Macao, Macao S.A.R., China. This will be a slight step up for the 32-year-old Shiming, as the fight will be 6 rounds instead of just 4 like in his pro debut against 18-year-old Eleazar Valenzuela last April.

Shiming struggled in that fight and hardly impressed with his slapping punches, and show boating. His antics seemed out of place for the way he looked for the opponent he was facing. When you see a former two time Olympic gold medalist showboating against an 18-year-old with only 6 fights on his resume it’s definitely out of place.

Chisora to fight on September 21st in London against a potential big name

Frank Warren, the promoter for heavyweight Dereck Chisora (17-4, 11 KO’s), will have him back in the ring on September 21st at the Copperbox Arena in London, England in facing what he hopes will be a big name.

Chisora: Me and Vitali have unfinished business

Earlier tonight, British heavyweight Dereck Chisora (17-4, 11 KO’s) got a surprise stoppage over American Malik Scott (35-1-1, 12 KO’s) in London, England. Chisora stopped Scott in the 6th round, and there’s still questions remaining whether Scott beat the count.

Replays show that Scott was on his feet at the count of 9, but the referee waived it off anyway. Chisora said after the fight that he wants to go to Germany and fight WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko again.

Chisora said this in the post-fight interview with BoxNation: “I want to fight the Klitschkos. I want to go back to Germany. Me and the older brother [Vitali Klitschko] have unfinished business.”

Vitali beat Chisora by a 12 round unanimous decision last year in February in a fight where Vitali injured his left shoulder in the 2nd round and had to fight with just his right hand for the remainder of the fight.

Dereck Chisora Takes Away Malik Scott’s Unbeaten Record With Controversial 6th-round Count-Out

Tonight at Wembley, Dereck Chisora got back to winning ways with a 6th-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Malik Scott. The ending, at the very least a slightly controversial one, came at the two minute and 56-seconds mark of the 6th.

Chisora, in improving to 17-4(11) said after the fight that he wants to go back to Germany to fight the Klitschkos, again in the case of WBC king Vitali. Scott, now 35-1-1(12) said “everyone knows I beat the count,” yet otherwise took the defeat graciously.

So, now to the controversy. Scott, ahead on the cards at the time of the stoppage and having boxed very well, was belted by a right hand shot that landed on the back of the head as he was on the ropes. Scott went down, smiling as he did so, appearing relatively unhurt.

Chisora TKOs Scott in unusual stoppage

American Malik Scott (35-1-1, 12 KO’s) was on the receiving end up a terrible, terrible 6th round stoppage against Britain’s Dereck Chisora (17-4, 11 KO’s) tonight at the Wembley Arena in London, UK. Scott hit the deck in the 6th after getting hit with a looping right hand that hit him in the back of the head.

Scott stayed down on his knees until the referee counted to 9, and then Scott got back to his feet. The referee halted the fight anyway much to the shock of Scott, his team, as well the British fans. It looked like the referee might have been confused in the amount of fingers he was holding up because Scott was clearly on his feet at the count of 9.
