Currently one of the hottest fighters/champions/out and out punchers in boxing, “GGG” has fans salivating for more pure punching action.

Fresh off his hugely impressive body punch KO over the experienced Matthew Macklin, the WBA/IBO 160-pound king wants to close 2013 with two more highlight reel wins. As to who his November foe might be, well, Curtis Stevens scored a sizzling highlight reel KO of his own last night in Connecticut, in wrecking Saul Roman in the opening round of a fight that contested the vacant NABF middleweight belt.

Mayweather vs. Canelo: Keys To Victory

It has been over two months since Mayweather Vs Canelo was announced, and i have to admit it took awhile for the news to sink in, because of the magnitude of this kind of fight that we boxing fans rarely get. None the less, here are my keys to victory for this tremendous fight.

Why change you’re style when everything you have done in the past has worked? Though Mayweather has said in multiple occasions that he does not watch video of his opponents, you would have to think he has had to watch at least some footage of Canelo. Regardless of who watches video in the Mayweather camp i would tell Floyd to increase the usual pressure just by a little bit. So happens that Canelo’s closest fight was against his busiest opponent, Austin Trout. Trout was busy but was also missing by a lot, something Floyd doesn’t do. Floyd is about as accurate as fighters have gotten. So, if you do the simple Sweet Science math, the more Floyd throws, the more he will land, because he is that accurate.

WBA # 13 Blake Caparello eyes big fight!

Undefeated Australian light heavyweight Blake Caparello 17-0-1 is starring down the barrel of some big fight offers after his impressive display against Daniel McKinnon 21-5 last month.

Caparello put on an old school boxing display of hit and don’t get hit as he cruised to a points win over tough kiwi Daniel McKinnon.

I caught up with Team Caparello at training and manager/ trainer Sam Labruna had the flowing to say; “I was very happy with Blake’s performance against McKinnon, Daniel is very experienced and he used every trick in the book to get Blake off his game and make the fight messy.”

I asked Blake what he thought about the fight; “I though I fought a smart calculated fight, I thought I landed the decisive blows and the cleaner punches and hardly got hit.

Gyan promises Emmanuel Tagoe world title fight in Ghana

Baffour Gyan, Manager and Agent of WBA International Junior Lightweight champion, Emmanuel Tagoe AKA Game Boy is promising to stage a world title fight in Ghana for the boxer should he overcome American Gerardo Robles this coming Friday August 9 at the Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, Cabazon, California, USA.

Gyan, elder brother of Ghana national soccer team captain, Asamoah Gyan and a former Ghana international himself, is personally in camp with Tagoe as the boxer prepares to face Robles in his first fight in the United States with the IBF Intercontinental Junior Lightweight belt at stake.

Chris Arreola: A “Nightmare” Of A Fight For Seth Mitchell?

You’ve got to hand it to former football player Seth Mitchell. The once-beaten 31-year-old had limited amateur experience and “Mayhem,” as the Brandywine slugger is known, has not found the transition from the field to the ring to be a natural one. But whatever shortcomings Mitchell has as a fighter – and his critics maintain they are plenty – the 26-1-1(19) contender makes up for them, or almost makes up for them, with sheer heart.

Mitchell is not blessed with a good chin, and he appears lost and unsure what to do when hurt (see his stoppage loss to Johnathon Banks and the early going of the return), but he is making the most of his boxing career. By even taking the revenge win over Banks – a fight that resulted in Banks seeming totally disinterested in capitalising on the early, near fight-ending success he had – Mitchell showed he is game, and his next fight, an almost-made match-up with the vastly experienced Chris Arreola, further proves Mitchell is willing to take risks. But is a fight with Arreola, 35-3(30) too much of a risk for Mitchell?

Fortuna-Franco ends in draw; Cintron decisions Batista

In one of the poorer ESPN2 cards, undefeated featherweight contender Javier Fortuna (22-0-1, 16 KO’s) slapped and clinched his way to a 10 round draw against Luis Franco (11-1-1, 7 KO’s) on Friday night at the Buffalo Run Casino, in Miami, Oklahoma, USA. The southpaw Franco showed good speed and decent power, but he so wild, sloppy and wide on defense that he took away from the two things he had going for him. The judges scored it 99-91 for Franco, 96-94 for Fortuna and 95-95 even.
