Andy Lee Wants Quillin & Chavez Jr Rematches After Saunders

Froch Under Fire / Fast Food Jibe For Rafael

If you happen to follow the twitter of ESPN writer Dan Rafael, then you may have seen the rather humorous exchange that took place yesterday regarding Carl Froch and his Golovkin assertions, that began when he posted a selfie on social media alongside the caption, ‘Too big & too strong for GGG’ – this in the same week that respected publication Boxing News ran a Q & A feature on Froch, carrying the headline quote; “I’ll likely retire.”

It’s pretty well known that when Golovkin’s manager Tom Loeffler seemingly went looking for Froch, he was met with a wall of silence after having opened initial talks with Carl’s promoter Eddie Hearn.

Robert Garcia Frustrated / Brook v Rios Off ?

After everything seemed to be on course for IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook to be defending his title against Brandon Rios in London later this year in London, Rios’ trainer Robert Garcia has spoken to fighthype.com to suggest that the fight could now be off.

As recently as a fortnight ago, Garcia told the channel he was confident the fight was a “go” and that earlier contractual obstacles over the type of gloves to be used and the money on the table had been ironed out, after Rios’ manager Cameron Dunkin had held talks with Brook’s team, including promoter Eddie Hearn.

Klitschko v Fury Purse Bid Today In Panama

After the two sides failed to reach an agreement to stage their heavyweight title contest by last night’s deadline, the purse bid for Tyson Fury’s challenge to dominant lineal champion Wladimir Klitschko will today take place in Panama at 11 am, circa 5pm (BST).

Fury has this morning taken to twitter to express his dissatisfaction at the situation, insisting a deal HAD been reached, that Klitschko and his team K2 have now reneged on.

Pacquiao slams Mayweather in response to Instagram taunt

Manny Pacquiao might not be able to beat Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the ring, but he sure seems to have gotten the best of him outside the ring in attacking him in response to an Instragram video that Mayweather put together earlier this week. Mayweather taunted Pacquiao in slapping around a dummy that he pretended was Pacquiao. Mayweather’s comments to the dummy Pacquiao were as follows:

“So, Manny, you out telling people that I didn’t win fair and square, that this little arm is messed up. Is that right? Huh? Talk to me! Stop lying!”

Lomachenko’s Manager Calling Out Lee Selby

We last saw him looking fantastic on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather/Manny Pacquiao fight on May 2nd, and in the clearest sign yet of what we can expect next from WBO featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko, his manager Egis Klimas has spoken to ESPN to say that two likely options exist for the Ukrainian former amateur standout – former WBA 126 lb champ Simpiwe Vetyeka, or new IBF champion Lee Selby.

Selby was nothing short of sublime last time out 5 weeks ago in London, halting tough Russian champion and IBF fighter of the year Evgeny Gradovich. The doctor was forced to intervene after a nasty cut opened up above the former champion’s eye – yet it was always only a matter of time before the Welsh fighter turned up the heat even further than he already had, and some may say, the cut only saved Gradovich from further punishment.
