Argentina’s Cesar Cuenca (48-1, 2ko) did a quit job in Russia tonight and dropped his IBF 140 lb title to Eduard Troyanovsky (23-0, 20ko), much to the chagrin of those light hearted fans who wanted to see the similarly light-hitting Cuenca, equal the 49-0 ledger held by Floyd Mayweather Jr and the legendary, Rocky Marciano.

Televised coverage kicked off with a thrilling showdown as Tony Harrison (22-1, 18 KOs) got the unanimous decision over Cecil McCalla (20-3, 7 KOs).
(Photo credit: Todd McLennan/Premier Boxing Champions) ORLANDO (October 31, 2015) – Malik “King” Scott (38-2-1, 13 KOs) won a heavyweight showdown with Tony “The Tiger” Thompson (40-6, 27 KOs) on Premier Boxing Champions: The Next Round on Bounce TV Friday night from The Venue at UCF in Orlando.
Scott controlled most of the action thoughout the 10-round battle using his superior movement to control the pace of the fight. As he has throughout his career, Thompson refused to give in and scored a big knockdown with a thundering right hand in round nine.
Undefeated WBO 140lb champ Terence Crawford (27-0, 19 KOs) did what everyone thought he would do tonight in smacking around little lightweight Dierry Jean (29-2, 20 KOs) for nine rounds until the non-competitive sparring match was halted in the 10th round by referee Tony Weeks at the Century Link Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
In his first fight on Sky Sports, #1 WBA Chris Eubank Jr. (20-1, 15 KOs) wiped out his carefully selected opponent Tony Jeter (20-5-1, 14 KOs) by a 2nd round knockout on Saturday night in a fight that was over shortly after it was started at the Sheffield Arena in Sheffield, UK. Jeter hit the deck in the 1st round, and then was stopped on his feet not long after the start of the 2nd round.
Rob “Bravo” Brant, 18-0-0 (11KO) from St. Paul, MN had a tough test at the Celebrity Theater, Phoenix, AZ with upset minded Louis “Unknown” Rose 13-3-1 (5KO) out of Lynwood, Calif. Physically, they matched up pretty close with Rose enjoying a slight edge in reach. Neither man is a big puncher, but Brant proved to be the crisper more snappy puncher. Rose consistently missed the target with his, which was something the judges noted. Many of the rounds in this ten round fight were very close, and arguably could have been scored either way. Brant came into the fight as the favorite, with the better pro record and amateur experience, but Rose fought the better competition. He pulled off wins over four undefeated fighters and planned to make it a fifth on Showbox.
An exciting night of boxing hit the Coachella Valley tonight as fans were treated with a stellar card at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino. Joining in the festivities, International Hall of Fame Boxer Michael “Jinx” Spinks hosted a special meet and greet at the Special Events Arena ahead of the televised fights and fans cheered on as International Hall of Fame Trainer Freddie Roach appeared ringside in support of his fighter Franke “Pitbull” Gomez. Also, Golden Boy Promotions fighters IBF Bantamweight World Champion, Randy “El Matador” Caballero, Hector “El Finito” Tanajara, Joshua Franco, Angel Bojado and Jesus Soto Karass attended to cheer on their favorite fighters during the night.
On a night when five of the six fighters were making their debuts on ShoBox: The New Generation, newcomers Rob “Bravo” Brant and Jarrell ‘Big Baby” Miller remained undefeated and the one ShoBox returnee, Samuel “The Main Event” Clarkson, won his seventh in a row Friday live on SHOWTIME at the Celebrity Theatre in Phoenix.
Brant (18-0, 11 KOs), of St. Paul, Minn., withstood a late, sustained rally from Louis “The Unknown” Rose (13-3, 5 KOs), of Los Angeles, to win a close, hard-fought 10-round majority decision in the ShoBox main event.
The end of the road may have arrived for former middleweight world title challenger Matthew Macklin – at least at top level – after he appeared to struggle last night in his first fight back down at 154 in 9 years, squaring off against former British title challenger, Jason Welborn.
Macklin, now 33, was making noise about still wanting to win a world title, something he felt he could achieve by moving back down, although given last night’s showing in Birmingham, many are left wondering what is left for him at the top end of the sport.
In the highly anticipated main event on Saturday night, WBA/IBO and WBC “Interim” World Champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (34-0, 31 KOs) added the IBF Middleweight Title to his collection with an exhilarating performance against former IBF Middleweight World Champion, David Lemieux (34-3, 31 KOs), culminating in an eighth round technical knockout victory on Saturday, October 17, at Madison Square Garden with a sold out crowed of 20, 548 fight fans.
