British middleweight champ Chris Eubank Junior keeps talking about world middleweight king Gennady Golovkin and a potential fight between the two. And Eubank Jr, not at all lacking in confidence and self belief, insists he can beat the feared puncher known as Triple G. In fact, take away Golovkin’s power, Eubank says, and GGG becomes a “slow” fighter with “a weak defence.”
WBA and IBO Super-Welterweight Champion, Erislandy “The American Dream” Lara (23-2-2, 13 KOs) is focused on breaking the record for most consecutive world title defenses at 154-pounds if he can’t land a big fight. The record, which was set by Gianfranco Rosi with 11 defenses of the IBF title, has stood strong since January of 1993.

WBO middleweight ruler Billy Joe Saunders has launched a scathing attack on Mexican star Saul Canelo Alvarez. As fans know, Alvarez recently vacated his WBC middleweight title rather than agree to fight Gennady Golovkin (at least he hasn’t agreed to face GGG yet). This has angered many fight fans, Mexican fight fans in particular of course, and Saunders, in speaking with boxingnews24, said Canelo should be ashamed of himself.… Read Article
Unbeaten middleweight and pound-for-pound star Gennady Golovkin, now the holder off all major belts at 160-pounds barring the WBO belt currently held by Britain’s Billy Joe Saunders, needs a fight. Having been disappointed over the way Mexican star Saul Alvarez opted to hand him his WBC title instead of signing to fight him in September (we can hope the mega-fight will still happen but nobody is holding their breath), GGG now searches anew for his … Read Article
It’s not the most obvious “Dream Fight” that springs to mind when daydreaming on who would win out of today’s best middleweight, unified king Gennady Golovkin and great 160-pound fighters of yesteryear, but a GGG-Chris Eubank fight and how you think it would have gone is a pretty interesting notion all the same. Fans have thought about how Golovkin and his particular blend of skills would have done against the likes of a Marvin Hagler, … Read Article

For the time being, that particular super-fight will have to wait; even though Canelo – who has been dubbed “yellow” by some angry fans who feel he has shown fear by continually avoiding GGG – maintains he will face him and will defeat him. “He needs to work his way up and earn his shot,” explained Lineal middleweight champion, Saul Alvarez, as per Boxing News, in the run up to his fight with Amir Khan. “He has all these knockouts but who has he fought?”
“Canelo” Alvarez, along with many of Gennady’s critics often question the credibility of opposition the knockout specialist has faced. Do they have a valid point? Have the other top “pound-for-pound” boxers been continually fighting … Read Article

Gennady Golovkin-Saul Canelo Alvarez: it’s super-fight absolutely everyone is desperate to see, so much so that the WBA will not get in the way as the negotiations for the mega-fight take place. In the past, fight fans have grown weary of how one organisation or another has ordered a fighter to defend his title against a lesser foe simply because they place him in their rankings. This, on occasion, has prevented a much better fight, … Read Article
