Now that heavyweight Dominic Breazeale has had the rug pulled out from under him in his previously scheduled fight against Bermane Stiverne for November 4, Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn is counting on the 6’7” Breazeale to agree to a fight against #3 WBC Dillian Whyte (21-1, 16 KOs) on October 28 in Cardiff, Wales.

Golovkin wants fair playing field for Canelo rematch
With the questionable judges’ scores from the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Gennady “GGG” Golovkin mega-fight that took place on September 16 last month in Las Vegas, Nevada, promoter Tom Loeffler says Gennady and him want a fair playing field when it comes to the rematch against Canelo next year.
WBC orders Oleksandr Gvozdyk vs. Marcus Browne final eliminator
The World Boxing Council has ordered #2 WBC Oleksandr Gvozdyk (14-0, 12 KOs) to face #4 WBC Marcus Browne (20-0, 15 KOs) in a final eliminator for the WBC light heavyweight title currently held by 40-year-old Adonis Stevenson.
Hopkins says Canelo-Golovkin rematch will be Ward-Kovalev 2 reincarnated
Bernard Hopkins of Golden Boy says the rematch between Saul Canelo Alvarez and Gennady “GGG” Golovkin will be a “reincarnation of the Andre “SOG” Ward vs. Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev fight. Canelo will be Ward, and Golovkin will be Kovalev, says Hopkins.
Hopkins says Canelo (49-1-2, 34 KOs) will learn from the first fight against Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs), and he’ll use what he learned to expose him as not being the “boogeyman” that everyone fears.
Canelo didn’t look so great in fighting to a 12-round draw against Golovkin on September 16 in a fight televised on HBO pay-per-view at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Ricky Burns: I’m not losing to Anthony Crolla
Ricky Burns (41-6-1, 14 KOs) isn’t even considering the chance that he will lose this Saturday night to former WBA lightweight champion Anthony Crolla (31-6-3, 13 KOs) in their 12 round scheduled fight at the Manchester Arena in Manchester, England.
Burns sees himself as above the 30-year-old Crolla in the talent department, so he doesn’t foresee any problems with getting the victory on Saturday.

WBC orders Canelo vs. GGG rematch
In an empty gesture, the World Boxing Council has ordered a rematch between Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (49-1-2, 34 KOs) and IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin (37-0-1, 33 KOs). It’s unclear why the WBC even bothered to do this, as Canelo didn’t fight for their belt in his contest with Triple G on September 16 last month at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
