“If Stieglitz really wants to clean the slate ” Who says he does? While Stieglitz is winning titles, Andrade is doing what? Stieglitz would hammer Andrade today, just like Bute hammered Andrade in their rematch. Go back to knitting Librado.

Fight Aficionado

What’s Andrade been doing lately? I’ve not heard a peep from him since he got KTFO by Bute.

Thanks for the history lesson Nic. The fact is Andrade beat Steiglitz in an IBF ttitle eliminator after your little story and he did it in very impressive style. After that Andrade fought and beat Bute by KO only to get screwed by a hometown ref in Canada. Stieglitz then went on to hide in Germany, grab a title and then fight a who’s who of second rate bums while Andrade was ready willing and available but was conveniently ignored by Team Stieglitz.

actually Miguel, you may not know this but Stieglitz was briefly the IBF Super Middleweight champ, he beat a Columbian fighter by KO, and then lost it to that same Columbian fighter by KO. Lucien Bute would beat that same fighter to win the IBF title. It was only after the loss of this title that ANdrade beat him.

When Stieglitz was the champ the first time he hid in Germany and fought a string of nameless bums and apparently all the while Andrade asked for a rematch and Stieglitz refused. Now all Andrade is asking for something he deseved, albeit a bit late. If Stieglitz really wants to clean the slate he must fight and beat Andrade.

Everybody always wants a shot they don’t deserve. Andrade has been out of contention for a while now. No need for that rematch

No need for Stieglitz to waste time on Andrade. Librado’s star has fallen and will never rise again. He’s just looking for a good payday which a fight with Stieglitz would bring him. But just say no, Mr. Stieglitz.

Well if Stieglitz has a fighting-heart then he will want to avenge that loss. Sounds like a good matchup to me.

Oh how far Librado Andrade has fallen. There was a time when he was the # 3 SMW in the world. Now, ppl calling him a gatekeeper.
If it werent for injuries and time passing, theres no doubt Andrade would KO Steiglitz again.
The Andrade that dropped Bute in the 12th rd of his UD loss would KO Abe, Steiglitz, and Groves inside 12 rds combined.

Is he serious?

The champion makes offers, Librado is a mere gatekeeper, he shouldn’t be making any offers to a championship boxer at this point, he should get in line and pray for a shot at the title.

Give the man a chance to enjoy his victory and EARN your shot like he did, but on the other hand I would like to see him beat your ass.

I remember the fight many years ago, and unlike the announcers at the time felt that it should have been closer than it was, though Andrade certainly stopped Stieglitz and was the better man. However, here Andrade has gone down, and Stieglitz has gotten probably better. The fight would be in Germany, and this time Stieglitz I think would come out on top. Though Andrade does not deserve the shot at this title, it certainly does make sense. A Stieglitz win would also mean that of his three losses, he did defeat the fighters that beat him.
