First of all u don’t think CRACKQUAIO IS TAKING PEDS? Does lance Armstrong ring a bell 5 world champion cyclist and crackquaio 8 time world champion. Hmmm
Lance Armstrong got busted with EPO probably the same sht your man crackquaio is taking because he will never take a blood test. If i was Marquez I would not
fight unless there were 24/7 blood testing then you will see the real crackquaio weak, flimsy, no power. Crackquaio is a bad sportsman he has ruined the history of
boxing and his name should go down in history with a big asterick implying PED USE.

JMM was offered his chance of a rematch with Pacq after the first fight, but declined and fought someone else.. so I don’t see where this nine f88king years of Pacq avoiding comes from ….

it was funny reading Arum trying to defy the age-old principle of “two to tango” by publicly confirming sites and dates for V withOut(?!) informing Marquez about it. otherwise, Marquez has stated that based on the “desired result” of IV he feels no need or desire to face Pacquiao* a fifth time. he also doesn’t think Pacquiao* did him any favors when he requested rematches and feels no inclination to do Pacquiao* any favors by granting him one Nine (9) F’n Years Later. how different this rivalry might’ve been if Pacquiao* had decided to settle in in 2004/2005 not 2012/2013. even now, Pacquiao* doesn’t want too, he Neeeds too, but Marquez has exited this rivalry with the decisive and defining KO win.

once again REDMOND, suit yourself. Marquez isn’t known for pre-fight posturing or trash-talk and everything he’s saying now makes perfect sense. bottomline, this fight doesn’t happen. Marquez knows that he can’t possibly improve on the outcome of IV. the thrill is gone. the rivalry is OVER.

For the health of Pacman; I sincerely hopes the fight does not happen; but if it does; here is my prediction. Its either going to be a dull fight; because of being OVERLY PRECAUTIOUS of getting hit with something big; or Pacman gets KO’d again. There you have it!!!!!

Posted February 13, 2013 10:55 pm

REDMOND, the rivalry is OVER. a fifth matchup will be the first bout of the rest of Pacquiao’s* career and nothing more. making demands of a 40-year-old Marquez who was desperate to settle his rivalry v. Pacquiao* no later than six years ago is just a continuation of the disrespect and lack of consideration Marquez has been subjected too for the past nine years. it’s OVER. it’s folly to underestimate Marquez’s sense of pride and based on Marquez’s most recent statements regarding a fifth bout v. Pacquiao*, it’s apparent that he feels personally offended and disrespected. Btw, the “Final” title-bout of Marquez’s career v. any welter champion of his choice sells-out every boxing venue and challenging the man who defeated Pacquiao* guarantees respectable PPV numbers, at least. definitely more than Pacquiao* v. Bradley generated.

Posted February 13, 2013 5:26 pm

Te Tumbo, the rivalry is “over” if Marquez and Pacquiao never meet in the ring again… Should they have another bout then the “rivalry” is alive and well.. Marquez is going to take the fight and thats just the truth of it, he is not going to fight for 2 mill against Bradley when he can make 5 or 6 times that fighting a guy he just knocked COLD in the 6th round… I know you want to set up a proverbial “no win” situation for Pacquiao ie whatever the result of a subsequent bout the 4th marked the relevant end…. Truth is that if these warriors fight again less than a year apart the result will be quite relevant… If Marquez won again well that would really be the nail for Pacquiao, if he lost badly or got knocked out that would restore a good measure of the Pacquiao luster….Time will tell this story absent premature declarations….

REDMOND, the alternative scenario that you described in no way refutes anything contained in my post. it’s even odds at best that Team Pacquiao* will concede all of the conditions that might compel Marquez to favor him with a fifth bout but i agree with you. Marquez is smart and the smart move is Bradley or retirement. otherwise and IMO, Marquez has “set the wrongs right” and has also concluded that he’s got nothing more to prove or gain in a fifth bout v. Pacquiao* but money. if recent boxing history is any indicator, Marquez will take the short money to prove his greatness. according to Marquez, that mission is now complete and Pacquiao* is history. the rivalry is OVER.

it’s hard to be stable when you’re a fan of one fighter only and not the sport, eventually the fighter will get old and lose decisively….leaving you on the outside with very little to say

after two entire months of plummetting to earth, Chicago Gal has finally hit the canyon floor with a giant “Poof!” (lol). unfortunately, he sounds as loopy and Stupid as ever. how do you think Manny* feels? he was the guy who was actually KTFO by Marquez’s pre-meditated and perfectly-timed right hand . . .

Posted February 13, 2013 11:24 am

Te Tumbo, we BOTH know that this fight is going to happen, while I agree the odds of Marquez improving on that result are extremely LOW…He is NOT an idiot, just as he discussed the tax burden he bears fighting in the US, he is keenly aware of economic gain and the 8 years of pursuit and the results of the last contest have put him in position to collect the first 8 figure payday of his career…Marquez and Pacquiao are going to fight again and should JMM NOT prevail he will have to live with that result, boxers are notorious for NOT ending on a high note and I doubt Marquez will be the exception… He is going to fight Pacquiao again so get ready

Posted February 13, 2013 11:21 am

Arturo Gatti was FUN as hell to watch because he would regularly just trade punches with his opponents, some thought his toughness and power would yield results when he faced Mayweather, instead they were treated to a GRIM depiction of what a HIGHLY skilled boxer can do to a gutsy punching bag… The site of Gatti staggering back to his corner after round 6 completely dazed, or him getting hit by the SAME straight right hand 6 times in succession with Mayweather barely reloading is the triumph of skill over toughness… Obviously it can go the other way at times, but when there is a gap in class the boxer SHOULD take his opponent apart and minimize his opportunities….

Posted February 13, 2013 11:10 am

a fifth matchup would be all about giving Pacquiao* a chance to redeem his devastating and legacy-defining KO loss to Marquez. however, having already acheived the “desired result” what is the real incentive for Marquez to favor Pacquiao* with a fifth bout? thanks to Team Punkuiao*, Marquez has already demonstrated his willingness to fight for reasons other than money. he also recently revealed his lingering resentment at the way he was stalled, dismissed, and disrespected during his 8-year mission to settle his rivalry v. Pacquiao*. Pacquiao* no longer owns the stature or prestige that he once carried into their previous bouts, which Marquez also believes that he won. from the Biggest Choke in Boxing History during which Marquez demonstrated his boxing mastery to the Greatest KO in Boxing History during which Marquez demonstrated his power-punching superiority, Marquez has nothing more to prove v. Pacquiao* nor can he possibly improve on the outcome of their last and final bout. the rivalry is OVER. Marquez is Greater. accordingly, what is the real incentive for Marquez to favor Pacquiao* with a fifth bout?

Chicago Guy, is like alot of so called boxing fans who want a MORE talented fighter to compromise his advantages in speed and skill to accommodate the attacks of a lessor fighter ie Mayweather letting Ortiz or some other guy get in shots he does not need to take… He calls Broner “a runner” meanwhile Broner has knocked out 80% of his opponents or something close to that…Boxing at its finest is not usually a slugfest, where its more about toughness than skill… In a sport where brain damage is the end result why would a guy take unnecessary punishment?

I know what boxing is all about. Being knockout of your opponent is part of it. But running all 12 rounds like other boxer/s does is not boxing it is cheating.

Posted February 13, 2013 11:06 am

Boxing is the art of hitting one’s opponent without getting hit back, if you want to get your facts straight. Nowhere does it state that boxing is the art of fighting! To be frank the saying goes, “Any fool can fight,” but few can box……..

Just thought you should know this CHICCAGO GUY…….

Real fans of the noble art will appreciate a consummate boxer who is both adept in the art of boxing, fighting on the inside and defensive mastery.

If you want to see a fight I suggest you hang outside your pub on a Friday night… I’m sure you will be rewarded handsomely!

Somebody mentioned that Manny’s style is to difficult to figure out and that hes unstoppable.I suggest you go look at the 6th round KNOCKOUT and the man who figured him out is JMM.

Boxing is about fighting not running. I never feel bad for Pacquiao lost because he is a fighter not afraid to fight. In boxing ko is possible to either combatant.Won of your idol over crybaby got no credit because your guy is a cheater besides it not a proof that that your boy is better than Pacquiao because he defeated crybaby unless Floydie fight Pacquiao and defeated him.

Chicago bi+ch, is Knocquiao more famous now more than be4 the JMM4 fight?? LMAO…. all i see everywhere is people mocking of Knockcquiao taking a nap on the canvas and wife crying spectacle, maybe he got more famous but not a very good fame i think, having the WHOLE world thinking Manny was dead makes the KO sweeter… BTW are u talking of the same Mayweather who toyed JMM?? are u talking of the same JMM who has owned Punkcquiao´s ass 4 times, if Money isnt fighting GREAT fighters that means that JMM bum… A BUM WHO KOED PUNKCQUIAO!!!! u are lame homie

Ghetto thugpole,
Marquez is still crybaby shutup his mouth for awhile succking his million dollar paccifier compliment of Pacquiao generosity. pacquiao is still the best and become more popular after his lost to crybaby because it was an exciting bloody fight that paying public deserved to see. Your idol Floydie can’t do that because he a boring fighter that really scared to engage to a real boxing fight a ccoward blk ass.

Posted February 12, 2013 10:09 pm

Manny may or may not be damaged goods after the ko loss. Many said the same about Lennox Lewis after his ko loss to Rahman. The only way we will know is to see him fight again. I think the fight series so far has been incredible and when it comes to guaranteed action, skill, strategy, sportsmanship and drama – pairing these fighters together again seems like a no brainer.

Posted February 12, 2013 8:38 pm

Sergio Martinez would have killed Manny even before he got crushed, he is too big but now Pacquaio would potentially suffer unreal damage… Martinez would barely feel Pacs punches, he is used to facing strong MW’s

Posted February 12, 2013 8:34 pm

Hecdog, your assertion that Marquez fears Pacquiao sounds unusually ridiculous after he got knocked cold, I mean COLD…. Floyd Mayweather does NOT face guys coming off KO losses he would get less than no credit for further abusing Pacquiao… Only way Manny regains some version of his former acclaim is by badly beating Marquez, a loss or close decision will not play well do him… No one has forgotten he was the victim of the KO of the year despite your delusions…

Chicago Guy, its NOT about where he fights its about who he fights and letting that KO loss stand unavenged will not look good on him… Who is he going to fight? The road to redemption starts with Marquez… Facing Bradley or some other guy is not going to do it …

Wrong, there are still lot of fights for Pacquiao on the line even in the middleeast is interested to host his fight.

JMM should fight Money May on May 5th

Posted February 12, 2013 3:31 pm

Pacquiao is still not truly OLD he does not want to let that win stand, most Champions would not… Problem is for him those other close wins tend to be minimized in lieu of the one conclusive result produced in the series…There is no other fight for Pacquiao at this point… Its for all the marbles!

They shouldn’t fight anyone, but the last big 5. That’s it!

Posted February 12, 2013 2:11 pm

MNboxingFAN – Sean

I want to see them fight again. The fourth fight was the best one. Marquez tried so hard for so long to get rematchs and finally a win so I can understand him wanting to shut the door and leave on a high note, but the truth is fans love watching these two guys fight and no matter who you want to win you have to agree that these two make exciting fan friendly fights that make the fighters and their promoters and gamblers lots of money… so why not? Their health? Well if they’re going to continue fighting they might as well fight each other. If not just retire and fade off into the sunset.

Posted February 12, 2013 1:04 pm

Octavius, the logic behind a fifth fight is money. A fifth fight between Pacquiao and Marquez would be a blockbuster, both in excitement and revenues.

Well a fight with Mayweather and Pacquaio has lost all interest so lets continue this great rivalry with Pacquaio and Marquez 5. It does make me chuckle that both Floyd and Manny have thrown 50-million dollars in the bin by not getting it on when the world wanted it. Now the fight is irrelevant and very few care.

Posted February 12, 2013 10:49 am

What you guys going to choose a boring fight that Fraudie Floyd will bring or an exciting and bloody fight that Pacquiao/JMM will bring. In my opinion a Paccquiao/JMM 5,6 or 7 is more worth to see that your hard earn money can buy.

Posted February 12, 2013 10:48 am

Lets cut the phony intrigue this fight is HAPPENING there is MORE interest in this 5th matchup than there was the 4th which still did good numbers at the box office…Manny can’t really reignite his standing without beating Marquez conclusively and Marquez cannot make real money absent a Manny fight… This is the 8 figure retirement pay day and there is NO WAY JMM is going to pass on that money… Both guys are Top Rank fighters so we know Bob Arum is salivating to put the event together…

Posted February 12, 2013 10:38 am

Mike Pytlik sorry to say but have you ever seen marquez in a boring fight because i havent dude so lethal and serouis with his fighting style it doesnt matter if they fight a hundred times JMM well always be JMM. like nahsim richardson say’s anout JMM the embodyment of technical fighter to the purest form.

How is this guy, 13. What a weak as writer. It seems to me he runs track and field. Any boxing fan will love to see another fight between these two warriors. Sugar Ray Robinson/Jake LaMotta fought six times, Limon Chacon four times. Pacquiao/Marquez make the match ever, they fight and bring the best exciment boxing always need. This writer is out his mind.

Posted February 12, 2013 6:37 am

@TROYO; I think your missing the point here. The author isn’t saying he doesn’t love to see these two go at it; he is trying to explain WHAT IS THE LOGIC OF A FIFTH FIGHT!!!! There is always a REASON behind a FIGHT SERIES. Going into the forth fight that reason was because of the mystery of who really won those first three fights. They were so close; many people felt that Marquez got robbed in all three; that’s why there was a forth one. This fifth fight really would prove nothing. Both fighters are on the decline; Pacman even more so if you want to be honest because of the COMPETITION he’s fought thus far. He has competed on a HIGH LEVEL for years now and eventually it catches up to the best of them. I really don’t want to see the man get hurt. If you think that that KO by the hands of Marquez didn’t have any PHYSICAL OR MENTAL IMPACT on him; I think it is you who don’t know nothing about boxing!!!!!

Hit With Bad Medical Verdict following an MRI and CAT scan. Doctors have advised the 32-year-old former world title challenger to not box again, and he’s canceled a February 21 fight.

Australian warrior and former two-time WBO interim champion, Michael Katsidis ‘The Great’ will no longer fight again and will be addressing his future in a tell all interview to his fans at the Melbourne Pavilion on Feb, 21
“Michael Katsidis has withdrawn from all future fights. He will be addressing his future in a tell all interview to his fans at the Melbourne pavilion on Thursday, Feb. 21. Hopefully Fox will play the interview so all of Australia can hear from one of the greatest fighters Australia has produced

I reckon anyone who doesnt love watching these warriors go at it – doesnt really like boxing. As long as they both keep performing like they did in the last 4 fights I’d pay the big bucks to watch these guys fight every year.

Its the promoters fault wheres the contending

Posted February 12, 2013 12:18 am

I don’t believe a fifth fight is necessary. They fought FOUR TIMES ALREADY. The first three were CLOSE AS HELL, and if you really want to be honest so was the FOURTH ONE; until Marquez landed that powerful right that Pacman walked into and didn’t see coming. It happens. THIS IS BOXING!!!!!! Both will go down in history as ALL TIME GREATS.
