…i’ll take a broken/bloody nose vs a face-first,deep-sleep K.O any day!!

Posted January 18, 2013 2:41 pm

AGAIN the idea that Marquez had LESS damage in the 4th fight than he had in the 3rd fight is a COMPLETE evacuation of the truth.. JMM was not bleeding all over the place from clean shots in the 3rd fight… His photos several days after the 4th fight clearly show he was swollen up and still recovering from his battle with Pacquiao..I cannot understand your desire to fight this point beyond the fact that you love conflict…Part of the drama and appeal of JMM’s win is that he had to overcome adversity in order to claim it… The same applies to you attempting to trounce or belittle Pacquiaos standing in the sport YET you want us to laud Marquez’s ATG status which is largely based off his ability to fight on relatively equal terms with Pac and then claim a super conclusive win…When people discuss Marquez in the future do you think the first name that will come up is Baby Bull Diaz? Casamayor? or Katsidis? No it will be his win over ATG Manny Pacquiao get real!

You expect people to believe your ABSURD notions about Pacquiaos wins YET you are the SAME snakeoil salesman that attempts to portray Antonio Margarito as an Angel who was falsely accused of trying to load his gloves against Mosley..I am NOT one of these guys who accuses him against Cotto because I simply don’t have proof to support that… But the notion that he and Capetillo did not know what they were doing vs Shane is comical… BUT when it comes to Pac Man you basically assert that he controlled ODH training camp, he controlled Morales, he controlled Barrera in NONE of these scenarios was he the premier figure in boxing…He was just HUNGRY, and more brutally talented than all these fighters back then…I am a huge fan of Marco and Erik, but Pacquiao broke BOTH of their wills and stole their pride in the ring… The sight of Marcos camp crying and pulling him out, Morale staying on his seat and in essence saying “No Mas” truly sad

Te Tumbo, YET again your glaring hypocrisy as it pertains to Pacquiao is on full display.. You attack his camp for spouting off about “marital troubles” “preparations” “travel ect” all post fights he ACTUALLY won (I pay those excuses NO mind personally) but you have a SLEW of reasons why Barrera, Morales, Oscar, Margarito and others could do no better than be brutalized or TKOEd by a former flyweight fighter?? There was NOT another guy at 135 in the world who could have come up and made Oscar QUIT on his stool the way Pac Man did, he was brilliant that night tactically one of his best fights… In, OUT, right hands, left hands, hooks, crosses he did what he had to do in order to show ODH the door while barely taking a punch in the process… Margo had 5 inches and 17 pounds in order to beatup the smaller Pacquiao instead he sustained a crushed eyesocket and the countdown to the END of his career

Posted January 18, 2013 10:42 am

Te Tumbo, your canned excuses for your favorite fighters are as LAME now as they were the day Pacquiao beat them up… How I am “race baiting” to mention the beatdowns that Pac Man layed on ODH, Margo, Barrera, Morales and Margarito? do you deny these losses occured or are relevant to the Pacquiao story because fact is that they DID… How did “Roach target ODH” when ODH was the biggest name in the sport and targeted Pacquiao while proclaiming “its a disaster if I don’t knock him out” Oscar was a 2-1 favorite due to his size advantage.. You call Roach a terrible coach yet you laud him as an evil genius for finding weaknesses that his fighter could exploit in Oscar which is the job of ANY good trainer…Your excuses about Morales are pitiable you dismiss his effectiveness at 130 to explain the way Pac Man beat him down and made him QUIT BUT the fact is that Morales was NEVER a force above 130pounds so WTF???

Can I just jump in and say who gives a s**t about Khan fighting a broomstick in a janitors closet..really. that guy couldn’t draw vodka through an oversized straw(yes I’m doing that as we speak). Ok continue with the entertainment.

Te Tumbo, trying to sell Marquez as “the winner” in the 2nd and 3rd fights is NOT going to bolster your case at ALL because you are living off your opinion… Those fights were scored VERY closely and there was merit to the discussion of either man winning… The ONLY win that JMM has over Manny Pacquiao occured in December and it was terrific and conclusive BUT it does not expunge his record nor change the results of the 2nd and 3rd bouts….OF COURSE YOU say that Marquez won all 4 fights…I had no issue with the bouts going to either man they were that hard to score depending on what a judge values… As for fight #3 which you focus on personally I watched and called Marquez letting it slip away as did the LATE GREAT Manny Steward RIP….He was being TOO cautious and relying on a few clean crisp combos while allowing Manny to swamp him with aggression and activity… Those are recipes for possible LOSS…

Posted January 17, 2013 7:06 pm

Te Tumbo, you are CRAZY Marquez nose was CLEARLY broken as the Dr examined him in the dressing room postfight, he was NOT looking good in the 5th or 6th round I know, I knkow in your world almost getting stopped was part of his strategy but the truth is Pac Man forced him to dig deep… Diaz buzzed him for all of a second as he went back to the ropes and Katsidis was the typical Marquez flash KD….The KD Pac put on him in the 5th was also of the “flash variety” BUT that right hand had his legs frozen and he struggled to recover for the rest of the round… Diaz and Katsidis had nowhere NEAR the effect on JMM with their shots that Pac did in round 5…. Get with reality dreamweaver!

Posted January 17, 2013 7:01 pm

Te Tumbo, what fighter is NOT going to speak well of his training camp or his prospects for the bout?? having confidence and playing mind games is part of the sport… JMM always speaks of his preparations and they finally served him with a concrete win after 2 losses being booked on his ledger… You would seek to penalize Pacquiao for the air he breathes since he rendered so many of the fighters you support irrelevant ie ODH, Morales, Barrera, Margarito, Diaz….Again why take issue with a man making BOLD predictions?

Posted January 17, 2013 6:21 pm

Te Tumbo, YOU say that Marquez improved on all his performances and that he can ONLY be evaluated by his LAST performance… According to the metrics YOU set forth then we should hold JMM FULLY accountable for the outcome of the 5th fight win or lose and NOT try and hide behind his age when its convienent….Reality is that Marquez bailed himself out with that right hand, all credit to him but Pacquiao was getting some leather on him and had him MORE busted up than he had been at anytime since the first fight…AGAIN Man up and either believe in your fighter or don’t but one thing I cannot stomach is a waffler… We also have to factor in the reality that Pac Man is coming off a BRUTAL KO that lead many to question his viability in the sport and health… That said he brings potential handicaps to the equation NONE of which I will excuse him (Pacquiao) for should he lose AGAIN….I sense your fear that JMM is going to the well again!

Posted January 17, 2013 5:43 pm

Te Tumbo, the ONLY reason you are speaking out of BOTH sides of your mouth regarding expectations for the Pac/Marquez 5 is that you are hedging… On the ONE hand you want to relish Marquez victory and proclaim that Pacquiao has NO choice except to be KOed by Marquez then in the next breath you are waxing on about JMM “getting OLD overnight” in essence you are taking out an insurance policy in the event that Pacquiao who owns 2 wins over JMM prevails ONLY a few months after he was last knocked out by this fighter… Your bluster is surface level and highly transparent, if you believed that Pac Man could not triumph like he did on 2 other occasions then you would BOLDLY proclaim the result but like a worm you are preloading an excuse for Marquez… AGAIN you cannot have it both ways….

Posted January 17, 2013 5:37 pm

Te Tumbo, I see you DISTANCING yourself from your earlier RIDICULOUS statements regarding Marquez’s marketability??? What happened?? the crushing weight of the FACTS snuffed out your pseudo-smug “hyperbole” as it pertains to JMM having Pacquiao on and undercard fight or Marquez vs Garcia, Bradley, Mattheysee or serial KO victim Amir Khan being BIGGER fights that what Pacquiao could produce…. Your cowardice and unwillingness to own the ludicrous nature of your rants is amusing in the extreme… This reminds me of your declarations that Marquez underwent Olympic testing with Mayweather when that is a BOLD faced lie or at best blatant inaccuracy……

Posted January 17, 2013 5:32 pm

Marquez getting a KO is highly commendable YET his infight performance vs Pac Man absent those crushing right hands was arguably less impressive…He went from a fighter living off craft to a slugger who finally got his man… Kudos on the result I would certainly RATHER be JMM when the smoke cleared on the 4th bout but infight he was taking leather, he was not landing in combination and that could be a harbinger should he be unable to stop Pacquiao again in a future bout… The notion that Pacquiao is forever going to be knocked out by Marquez is VERY lazy thinking and a rabid fan waving the pom poms after Marquez 3 unsuccessful attempts to get a win and saying “see I told you I would be right one day”…. Laughable

Posted January 17, 2013 5:26 pm

Paquiaos PPV superiority is CLEARLY demonstrated by Floyd Mayweathers prior willingness to offer him a flat fee of 40 million which Manny rejected in lieu of 50/50.. Meanwhile Marquez will fight for 4 million while his opponents (May and Pac) make 10’s of millions… Marquez ACTUALLY needed the 600k overlimit penalty that Mayweather was willing to pay whereas Pacquiao told Mayweather he would have to pony up 10 million if he came in over the limit (posturing by both) but it gives an idea of the scope and influence Pac Man enjoyed… What list of highest paid athletes is the GREAT JMM on??? NONE because he cannot command top dollar… His biggest payday is around the corner and he deserves it but lets not be confused about his PPV drawing power… Absent an A side guy its non-existent!

TYPO=Marquez vs Pacquiao and Mayweather

Posted January 17, 2013 4:13 pm

Te Tumbo, I see you RUNNING from the PPV reality which is the money that JMM is after now as well he should be… Garcia, Mattheysee, Khan and the rest are ARENA fights not PPV fights and besides JMM is sticking around for one reason and one reason only and thats to fight Manny again…You say its “a given he will KO Pacquiao” thats NOT validated by history because in the 4 fights they had he NEVER even had Pac Man down till the 4th fight, suddenly “its a given” you are building that thesis off of ONE fight and if history is the judge it favors Manny at least putting Marquez down on the canvas again… In 3 of their 4 fights 75% he had Marquez on the matt a total of 5X…. I see you setting the table with an excuse regarding JMM’s age should Pac Man prevail which is a contradiction to the “given that he will KO Manny again” which is it?? Marquez KO win OR Pac Man catches up and YOU blame age??

Posted January 17, 2013 3:54 pm

…the only advantage PEDman has at this moment going forward for a fifth fight is FATHER TIME and even that didn’t work out too well the last time around as we all know!!

Posted January 17, 2013 2:48 pm

Agreed fight should have been made in 2010 when the interest was at its highest point. It needed to happen then and I feel it does now but as u said pac will have to look good to keep the naysayers away. I’m a Floyd fan obviously but ill be the first to admit that Floyd needs the fight more then pac in terms of legacy and as a boxing fan in general I hope it comes off in 2014. Now to this business of the tune-up b.s. I say what for? Why not let them rest and go for a late summer showdown? What’s the point of lining them up with tomato cans and adding rounds on them at this point in thier respective careers

Posted January 17, 2013 2:00 pm

The only way a Mayweather fight has a decent fraction of the luster it would have had in 2011 or 2010 is if Pacquiao brutally KO’s Marquez and does it without much struggle… If he looks suspect or loses its curtains for that forever…

Posted January 17, 2013 1:10 pm

Yes ill hold off on any predictions for now. Kinda tough for me cause im a huge fan of marquez but i really need pac to redeem himself to add the luster back to the mayweather fight. May be to little to late but i still believe the arum will allow it when he’s done milking every last dime from pac

Posted January 17, 2013 12:06 pm

Te Tumbo, Pacquiao is certainly being taken to task for his crushing loss as well he should… That said he is NEVER going to give JMM a 60/40 split in Marquez favor when he KNOWS that Marquez cannot headline a PPV fight against a B or Bplus level opponent to save his life…Despite your prayers the truth is that Pacquiao can rebound from this loss and defeat Marquez, he has his work cut out for him but the newfound respect he should have for Marquez power should allow him to press the older fighter and break him down instead of going for the kill the first time he buzzes him…I am pretty sure all questions will be answered because this fight will happen again, JMM would be a fool to log more miles against a lessor opponent for lessor pay….

I predict Marquez by KO in the 6th round of a back and forth fight!

Posted January 17, 2013 11:07 am

te tumbo

if these threads are any indication, Pacquiao’s* fanbase is dwindling. “poor” Redmond has had to assume double-duty to make up for the sudden absence of the biggest Pactard of them all, Chicago Gal, and Manny’s* most devout “expert” worshipper, Tark. Chicago Gal is still dropping in space waiting to hit bottom and Tark is experiencing sudden memory loss like Tony Soprano’s mom “Livia” from the Sopranos. Marquez’s rivalry-ending KO victory could not be more complete . . . Viva Marquez!

Posted January 17, 2013 10:27 am

…not very popular for the Pactards!!

recognition to the fight, right on!

Please be sure to translate Marquez’s commentary into English and post it.
