Killing Moon The Soothsayer

Mick: Frochs resume can’t be destroyed with a single punch….If he gets KO’ed by Kessler or any other he still deserves the respect of us all having fought quality opponents (Excluding Mack) for years….Yes, contracts should be honoured but from a Spectators view, Bute’s Camp or Frochs camp this fight makes zero sense….Maybe if Bute does something worthwhile and beats minimum a contender you could make an argument for a rematch…But Bute looked like crap against Grachev and is clearly not ready to fight the elite and the question is if he ever was, in my book he was a hypejob exposed…But that’s me…Honestly i think Froch got atleast 3 good years left in him so i see no reason for him to retire……And the talent at SMW is bigger than any other div. in boxing so there’s plenty of good fights in the Horizon….

Killing Moon: A deal’s a deal & should be honoured old fruit! Bute supprised me by taking the 1st Froch fight @ Nottingham & therefore deserves 100% respect & the return that was signed for @ Montreal. Anothe solution could be Bute vs Stephenson with the winner installed as IBF #1 mandatory contender. Carl’s career seems to be getting stronger, but could be taken apart by 1 vicious punch. Personally I hope he retires later this year after chancing his arm at revenge & makes a good living as a TV pundit.

I don’t get why people are still talking Bute vs Froch 2…In my op that’s a waste of time..Froch broke him him into a million tiny pieces….Who in their right mind would like to see that again.

I’m 100% in favour of unifications. However mandatories are there for a reason & as Gumboot states champions should fight “at least” 3 times a year including mandatories & unifications. Of course Froch wants to be #1 @ 168Lb & gain revenage against Ward & Kessler but the mandatory with Stephenson + the rematch clause with Bute have to be honoured. Young guns such as Oosthuizen & George Groves will be creditable within 12-18 months by which time Froch will be ready for the taking. In an ideal World Froch fights Kessler, Stephenson, Bute & Ward (in that order) before the years out. Unfortunatlly it’s not an ideal World!

The Kingslayer

Let me get this right, even though Oosthuizen declined to fight Froch in 2012 he’s still going to get the chance to fight for the IBF title…….and people wonder why boxing is a niche sport.

Sure Stevenson has earned his shot….That being said he better step down and wait for Froch vs Kessler 2 to be over…Unless he wants to be the guy, who was responsible for this war not happening thus making him unpopular with a lot of fans…And yes i know it’s an unreasonable and not fair thing to ask another boxer to do …But if he was smart he would get a clause to fight the winner of the fight…Instead of trying to ruin it…

the champ should face his number one contender period a man has earned his number one status deserves his title shot, if Froch or any other champion including Mayweather wont do that then they aint the best man in their division

Yeah why would the IBF want exposure of their champion fighting the 3 top SMW in a row. Surely this is punishable and a stripping of the title is in order. Then the IBF can have a real named champion like Stevensen, Grachev or Oosthuizen. Now where is that sarcasm font.

Well done ESB.

Unless injured EVERY “world champion” should be required to defend the title 3 time a year, including one mandatory, one choice and one negotiated opponent. Failure to do so would result in stripping of the title and a fight betwenn numbers 2 and 3 to fill the vacancy. Injured as defined after examination by a truly independent medical panel. Maybe under these conditions fight-fans would actually see “world champions” proving they are worthy of the title. (With so many alphabet organisations it is clear that MANY champions aren’t actually the real thing). Maybe by forcing world champions to front up we might see a clean-out of the multitude of BS titles held by BS fighters. Oh, and to challenge for the title one must be ACTIVE and one must have EARNED a ranking by beating other ranked opponents. (This is to be known as the “David haye” clause). And I also believe in Santa Claus!

the Cobra will deeestroy Stevenson

Posted January 1, 2013 4:59 pm

And for the record……Froch would destroy Stevenson….my problem isn’t with Froch cherrypicking, but that he’s taking so long to make up his mind if he wants to a Champion or if he’s just trying to cash out and retire.

Posted January 1, 2013 4:42 pm

Froch’s inactivity and lack of signing these fights is killing his title run. It took him nearly 6 mos to make a defense, and it was against Yusaf Mack, a complete hasbeen, even worse, a neverwas. At least with Bute, he was constantly trying to make fights and never once ducked a mandatory.

Fight Kessler, then get a quick fight arranged against Stevenson, who he will KTFO like his last opponent.
