PEEJ, it’s funny…I now see a trend in all your posts.

The CryptKeeper Slopkins is the Dirtiest fighter in Boxing.. period..

Posted December 13, 2012 3:07 pm

Ask Pascal, Pavlik, and Tarver if Hopkins was fighting? They WISH he was not and the fact that guys have to make excuses for their inability to best a guy who is 48 years is simply a testament to his Greatness… Undefeated Tito Trinidad got in the ring with a 36 year old version of Hopkins and got beatdown and destroyed.. I believe Joe deserved his win vs Hopkins but honestly he fought with an amateur mentality, slapping punches that were intended to score not hurt and he looked WORSE postfight than Bernard… Hops is a CRAZY dude, I understand why guys are not fans, I don’t like watching his fights anymore and I had predicted that Dawson would knock him out…. BUT alas I gotta respect the fact he keeps imposing his will and physicality on the sport at an age when most have been LONG retired…. I mean at his age he is willing to face a YOUNG, PHYSICAL fighter like Cloud?? Thats crazy

I see we have some BITTER nationalists below…. The best win of Calzaghes career was a UD over undefeated Mikkel Kessler… Kessler was favored to win the Super 6, and had the most upper level experience at 168 of all the combatants…. Andre Ward not only defeated Kessler he dominated and stopped him… I know the whining will start but he proved to be NO fluke and went on to dominate EVERYONE else and sits atop the P4P list with dominant victories over Froch, Kessler, and Dawson under his belt…. Learn to live with the HARD results…

Frank that’s how the US press works in general. Look at Andre Ward’s career for example: He was vaulted into ESPNs p4p top 10 because he beat Kessler but Kessler himself wasn’t ranked in there at the time and when Calzaghe beat Kessler a couple of years earlier in a much more impressive fashion it sure didn’t rank him #1.When they’re trying to promote a guy they’ll stop at nothing to big up his opponent. Hopkins hasn’t had a “fight” in almost 5 years, in Europe he’d be disqualified for acting the way he does in the ring

after calzaghi 46.0 fought them there was always a excuse After the fight Eubank was to old 32. Going into the fight Lacy was the favorite he was suppposed to be a middleweight mike tyson . The fool ref and Lacy stupid corner let Calzagghi ruin him calzagghi hit him with about a 1000 punches . After the fight Lacy 28 was decalered to green for Calzagghi and wasnt ready yet. After the fight kessler wasnt really that good yrs later he beat a very tough Carl Frotch .Hopkins a life time middle weight beats LH Tarver. And enjoys his most reconitation he ever reallly got. Hopkins is vaulted in the ranks #1 or 2 in that pdforpd farce. In his next fight calzagghi beats hopkins iand all of a sudden Hopkins is to old . well hopkins wasnt that old when he latter beat pavlik or when he regained the light heavyweight championship yrs latter. he was only old when he lost to calzagghi .when ever CAlzagghi won it was never that he was great it was always the other guy wasnt up for some reason > I see the same thing is happening to andra ward he might go undeafeated for ever but he isnt really that good there will always be a excuse . CAlzagghi was great and never lost

Jones and Hopkins should of really hit Calzaghe in the 1st round, that would of really annoyed Calzaghe, Mitchell clocked him in the 2nd round and got stopped in the same round, lucky Hopkins and Jones didn’t hit him too hard, or they would of been stopped in the same round.

Bernard is flat out a Dirty fighter. HOF no way

Posted December 13, 2012 1:01 am

Dexter Write

Bernars Hopkins is a b rated boxer that acts like he’s a top level boxer. He be under weights and cry baby crying when he competes at top level. Thumbs down for Hopkins

Posted December 13, 2012 12:47 am

Calzaghe getting knocked down in the first round against Jones and Hopkins, that was just nerves fighting in the USA, away, what did he do,got straight back up and like he hadn’t been knocked down and kicked their asses.

Posted December 13, 2012 12:21 am

Calzaghe v Pavlik, Dawson, Pascal, easy wins, Calzaghe 46-0 over 15 years for a reason, can beat all the styles.

Posted December 13, 2012 12:14 am

Competive is the word Im trying to type

Posted December 13, 2012 12:10 am

SREDMOND I want him to retire to but it must be hard to walk away when you are still compitive with the best and also able to beat some of them.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:45 pm

Yeah but he was still swinging back at him. A fight should not be stopped with the other guy still swinging. But it was only a matter of time in that round before Calzaghe was gonna win by KO

Posted December 12, 2012 11:44 pm

Mitchell was all over the place, Calzaghe was teeing off on him.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:38 pm

PEEJ, Calzaghe v Mitchell, I remember that, Calzaghe getting knocked down heavily, then getting back up to knock Mitchell out within 30 seconds, that was when the UK fight fans really thought he could do something, obviously he had already beat Eubanks.Calzaghe went over to the USA,trying to sort the big fights out, against Hopkins,a fight was set for Hopkins, but doubled his money demands when the fight was all set up.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:32 pm

Yeah well Byron Mitchell sticks out to me because I remember him knocking Calzaghe down and then Calzaghe getting up and throwing punches like he was possessed and then knocked down Mitchell. The ref stopped it when Mitchell was throwing punches back. That is the only reason why I say he needed help. I am a big fan of Calzaghe and liked watching him. That fight just sticks out the most to me

Sven Ottke, classic.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:21 pm

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Anyone who thinks Hopkins is NOT going to the HOF might as well kill himself!!! Bernard’s accomplishments before he moved up to LHW assured he was going, winning the LHW title from Tarver, schooling Pavlik and being the OLDEST man to win a legit title at 46 have made him a living legend…!!!! The dude defended his MW Championship 20 times and young guys STILL have to make excuses about facing and really beating down a Grandfather… Hate him or
Love him B-Hop is the Sinatra of boxing :)

Posted December 12, 2012 11:19 pm

That post was funny, nothing to do with who won, Calzaghe ,Jones, Hopkins, Mitchell, posters going on about fighters,I hadn’t heard about Byron Mitchell in a while, lol.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:10 pm

PEEj, lol.

Posted December 12, 2012 11:00 pm

Well who has Calzaghe really beat to say he is such a great? An old Hopkins that apparently to yall is not that good, or an old Jones that was way past his prime. So apparently Calzaghe wasn’t that good neither especially since he neede the refs help in the Byron Mitchell fight

Posted December 12, 2012 10:28 pm

I don’t care how many times he “fights” again, my lasting memory of Hopkins will be of him rolling on the ground crying that he’d hurt his arm so the ref would save him from Chad Dawson….for a few months anyway. I hope Cleverly is the fight that gets made. They’d all beat him but I’d enjoy it more watching him lose to a white guy (again)

Posted December 12, 2012 10:10 pm

If he wants to keep the 3 teeth he has left in his mouth, he had better not fight Shumenov.

Posted December 12, 2012 9:51 pm

He needs to pick Cleverly and expose him. Cloud is too big for him and would easily outmuscle the wrestler. If he gets hit by Cloud his old chin wont take it. Cleverly is the new Bute and would be easily exposed and wrestled and fouled. Hopkins loves the untalented hype jobs.

Posted December 12, 2012 8:35 pm

He lost his most important fights against Jones and Calzaghe, he is a good fighter, but not up there with the greats, when weighing it all up and looking back.

Posted December 12, 2012 8:25 pm

I have the same screen name for 10 years now. And Hopkins is an All Time Great. You are the one whom does not know boxing. I could care less what the people who lost to him say. I could even care less about the people who have beaten him say. He has proven over the years to be a damn good boxer not to mention winning the championship at his age is amazing. To be his age and still be competitive is just freakish. If you can’t appreciate it then don’t watch him. But I don’t mind watching, I like his skills. And he will be going to the HOF on the first ballot, you can believe that.

+1 once again

Posted December 12, 2012 7:43 pm

Looks like Peej and the likes of Sredmond are the only non knowledgable people that dont know boxing. by the way Peej dont post other screen names in favor of Hopkins. The floor has spoken Hopkins is way overated. Lets hope he doesnt go in the HOF. I hope they review this guys tapes and talk to fighters that fought him in a closed room to say there story of how dirty of a fighter Bernard Hopkins is. Hw’s the kind of person if you told him that he can care less. The guy is a opportunitist embrassing himseld wearing those Erkel glasses as if he’s not the EXCUTIONER but now THE PROFESSOR OH please get a life. He’s so full of himself of this legacy ans saying how people will remember as if they will miss him Please. hopkins do yourself and this great sport a favor Retire and never comeback. You suck and always will !

Posted December 12, 2012 7:42 pm

Hopkins was a cheat in the calzaghe fight, faking low blows, and he still lost, Calzaghe was too good and smart for him.

Posted December 12, 2012 7:11 pm

no one is as dirty as Hopkins, no one !

Posted December 12, 2012 7:07 pm

Yes I call that greatness. Umm isn’t Robert Duran one of the greatest fighters ever? I do believe he was also a dirty fighter. And lets see isn’t it the ref whom is supposed to make sure the rules are followed? A fould is not a fould unless the ref calls it. So I leave that up to the ref. And Hopkins has the most defenses of a title at middleweight, yeah I would call that greatness. I could care less about what Dawson says, I stopped liking Dawson after the Pascal fight when he said he could care less what his fans think of him. So from that point on I have stopped supporting him. And wasn’t it Dawson who threw Hopkins to the ground, then said how he was a punk and that he was not a throw back fighter and how he was, and then went on to quit against Ward? Hopkins is an all time great. And I do believe that the fight with Calzaghe was damn close, not saying Hopkins won but he definitely did more damage than what Calzaghe did to him and that is why he never wanted to rematch Hopkins

i would love to see bhop school that bum cleverly

+ 1 for The Boxing corner

Posted December 12, 2012 5:56 pm

The Boxing Corner

Peej Hopkins didnt beat Roy Jones nor did he beat Calzaghe. Remember PEEJ Hop said ” I will never let a white boy beat me Never ” Hopkins got beat that nite. Hopkins is a professional head butt ‘r. If you have to cheat to win then than means your lacking. Eastman complained of Hops Clinchs up the whole nite, Winky complained about the head butts, Roy Jones has said a slew of things about Hop, Chad Dawson said how dirty Hopkins is, Calzaghe said the same thing, Robert Allen’s camp said the same thing. You call this greatness, you call this legacy. To me is a travesty, a fraud who has great marketing skills and a big mouth. You want to talk greatness ? How about Tommy Hearns or Duran or how and Sugar Ray L or Hagler all great fighters who gave there fans good hard fights. Hopkins rolling on the canvas crying to the ref fake crying thats not boxing thats your local town circus act.

Posted December 12, 2012 5:55 pm

Hopkins is an all time great and if he fights someone worth merit I will definitely watch. I also think he can beat Cloud. I am not to hight on Cloud anymore. He doesnt fight enough and doesn’t look good when he does fight anymore.

Posted December 12, 2012 5:38 pm

Hopkins could beat Cloud.. just like he did to Pavlik.

I agree as well There is to much hate postments here and like some people have said earlier, Bernard Hopkins is an all-time-great and will be inducted almost right away into the Boxing Hall of Fame. His superior ring skills, his many top fights, his victories, his world title belts and world title fights explain it all.

Posted December 12, 2012 5:29 pm

I remember Jim Lampley said Bernard Hopkins doesnt care what fans think when his fights are boring. Guess what Bernard the fans are going to contribute not one penny to your boring dirty fights.

Posted December 12, 2012 4:42 pm

Snaggletooth Slopkins is the dirtiest filthiest Boxer in Boxing.. also an X-Con

Posted December 12, 2012 3:48 pm

Haters in the hooooouse!
Say what you will about Bernard, but the man calls his own shots and at his age he’s still willing to fight the best. Compare that if you will to Floyd, or Canelo, or Donaire, or Guerrero, or Tyson Fury, or a bunch of other fighters looking for the glory without wanting to show the guts.
Lay off the old man.

The Kingslayer

Both Cloud and Cleverly have mandatories and Shumenov already said he doesn’t want to fight Hopkins because he is his idol.

Posted December 12, 2012 1:53 pm

I would love to see Hopkins get KO’d worse than Pacquiao did, worse than Roy Jones Jr. vs. Glen Johnson. Just so we can get rid of his boring, dreadful, one punch-ten clinches fight style.

Posted December 12, 2012 10:01 am

Who cares about bernard Hopkins legacy. His notable wins were over a drunk Pavlik and Pascal who ? Trinidad null and Void after he head butted the hell out of him. Excutionor crap this guy is a dirty fraud. Aidos Hopkins good rittons

hows this fool still going?

29 year old Beibut Shumenov (13-1-0 KO’s 8) – the WBA light heavyweight title holder with 4 title defences looks like he is the best opponent for Bernard Hopkins if he want’s to win a final world title belt before retirement just like the author said. I mean Shumenov became world title holder after just 10 profesional fights and fought more quality opponents with minor title belts as well so thats impressive in its own way. Why he is more suitbel then the others? Its obvious at the point of ring expearence and Hopkins would be an “old fool” if he fought undefeated IBF world title holder Tavoris Cloud (24-0-0 KO’s 19) now at his age. I would personally look forward for a fight with Bernard Hopkins vs. Beibut Shumenov for the WBA title. I would love to see the legend Bernard Hopkins retire as a world champion.
