Froch was hitting Dirrell on the break, hitting after the bell, holding Dirrell or the ropes while hitting, rabbit-punching Dirrell and out of frustration, Froch threw Dirrell to the canvas. You claim you watched the fight twice, yet you failed to see ANY of those acts committed? Then go and watch the video a 3rd time and look for the acts I mentioned. if you still don’t see the acts, then it’s simply because you don’t want to.

herbtree……..Please direct me to a point in the froch vs dirrell fight where froch was dirty. Ive watched that fight in full twice, and watched a few rounds of it hear n there, and at no point was froch dirty. the only time dirrell showed any sort of intent was when froch was against the ropes witch lasted about 8 seconds

Tommy Gun?i didn’t know Morrison was making a come back? LOL

Fair enough, I could have picked my words better.

I’m not disagreeing with you on that. My point is that if he is managed properly, he is ultimately going to accomplish a lot more than Froch because he’s got more natural gifts.

All of you who are claiming Dirrell is this or that against Froch are full of it! Froch can be a dirty fighter and he was definitely a dirty fighter against Dirrell that night, that much is certain. I was happy to see that Froch’s dirty tactics didn’t work on Andre Ward and Froch rightfully got his ass kicked by Ward.

Wilder, please!! There have been plenty of US boxers who were robbed of their decision victories in Europe, which is why many American top-tier boxers won’t fight in foreign countries. Yet and still, Euro boxers just keep coming to the US for the bigger paydays and the recognition. If the Euros don’t like it here, then they don’t have to come here…but they will!

When I first read that Tommy Gun was looking to face Froch, I was quite stunned! I think this was a good move for Tommy Gun’s team to pull out of the negotiations. Tommy Gun is NOT ready for Froch yet, plain and simple. Plus, fighting Froch in Nottingham? Practically any boxer who doesn’t knock Froch out cold can forget a decision on Froch’s hometown turf…just as Dirrell didn’t get the decision when he clearly outpointed Froch in their match.

Tiny, so it was Dirrell’s fault that his fight with Froch was ugly? When Froch was hitting Dirrell on the break, hitting after the bell, holding Dirrell or the ropes while hitting, rabbit-punching Dirrell and out of frustration, Froch threw Dirrell to the canvas. Yet with all that occurring during their fight, it was Dirrell’s fault? Froch was a dirty fighter with Dirrell and he tried those same dirty tactics with Ward, but Ward was not having any of it! Furthermore, Dirrell was robbed in his fight with Froch as many boxing observers and fans felt Dirrell won. Go watch the Froch-Dirrell YouTube videos and educate yourself,

Mate, are you able to appreciate the distinction between “B-level” and “unproven”? Froch has done big things with modest talent. Oosthuizen has great talent but is in the early stages of development still. That’s the difference.

If Tommy asked him to come and fight in Johannesburg? Yes, I can imagine that Froch would say no thanks.

Posted August 9, 2012 6:40 am

But who’s fault was it that it was an ugly fight? Certainly not Froch’s

Posted August 9, 2012 5:21 am

Tommy should ditch the rediculas IBO trinket & challenge George Groves for the Commonwealth title!

Sakio Bika great fight , make that fight happen. Sakio vs Froch. November Bika would love that fight.

Either way you look at the Direll-Froch fight they both should have lost. That was as ugly a fight as you get. I agree with this SA kid though hes not ready for Froch whos improved a lot since the Direll fight

The problem with the Dirrell fight is that he had the look of a fighter doing more running than actually fighting. I thought Dirrell won the fight myself but going into someones home town you better be fighting or boxing not moving and running. This kid apparently is just not ready for a caliber fighter of Froch which is perfectly fine, his team needs to stop with the lame excuses though

Fighting is still a business, and young Tommy gun just isn’t ready to risk his early career against a top dog like Froch. There’s nothing wrong with that. Froch will go on being the great champion he is for another year or two, and the South African kid will pick-up a big fan base fighting on SHO because he’s an exciting boxer-puncher. Good luck to both of them.

But to be truthful…Its a good idea for Oost to avoid Froch at this point. He needs a few stamps in his book before taking on Froch…Oost isn’t ready for Froch, plain and simple.

Pavlik fight Froch ? Pavlik is a drunk,so much so, that when he ran out of beer, he called 911, and told the dispatcher that it was an emergency, because he ran out of beer. emergency,he ran out of beer.

Posted August 8, 2012 4:22 pm

let him fight the ghost if he got the stones i doubt it

Posted August 8, 2012 2:42 pm

Froch would have cleaned his clock, as will George Groves when they meet. Oostuizen should be sounding out Brian Magee, or Stieglitz. Froch should be rematching Kessler or punching out Pavlic or Stieglitz. If Stieglitz wants any credibility then he’s gotta get in the equation some time.

Posted August 8, 2012 2:31 pm

Froch would had ended his career

Posted August 8, 2012 2:26 pm

Had Osshuizen said they couldn’t get an agreement on the finansial terms, that would be ok.
Had he said he wasn’t ready for Froch yet, that would be okay.
But on this is just BS.

Now then…. Can anybody image Froch turning this fight down if it were roles reversed?

I agreed totally. It’s boxing and fighters should come to fight. No one should be given a decision and allowed to win ugly decisions. The fight was really close due to dirrells tactics, which on the night were wrong.

Posted August 8, 2012 1:27 pm

Froch won by a mile for me. Dirrell grabbed, ran, moaned, did anything except fight. It wasn’t even close, Dirrell reminded me of Hopkins, another one who tries to win by any means except boxing.

Posted August 8, 2012 1:21 pm

Pavlik, Bika or Degale. Bika would accept the fight in Nottingham. If Froch only has 3 fights left don’t waste them against fighters like Edwin Rodriguez or Adonis Stevenson.

Posted August 8, 2012 1:05 pm

Pretty biased article and a pretty lame excuse for not taking the fight. I’ll buy and respect if they say he’s not ready for a guy the caliber of Froch, who again shows he’s willing to take on all comers, but to say that a fight on Showtime against an unkown is bigger than a fight against Froch in England is absolutely bananas. And to say that going to England would put him in a bad position sounds like a hack job. News flash! You’re a challenger most people haven’t even heard of, if you’re ready for the top and a top guy gives you a chance you better take it no matter where it is!

Comments regarding a decision in Nottingham are a bit off the mark. The dirrell fight was really close and could have easily gone either way. Every other fight froch has had has been note than clear cut, the guy ain’t exactly Sven ottke lol.

The Kingslayer

Good hopefully we can get Froch vs. Pavlik or Bika now please !

Posted August 8, 2012 12:48 pm

It is eaiser for a foreigner to get a fair decesion in GB than in the US. Just ask Campillo or Sturm.
