Not real tall… Not as tall as Senchenko… Brook is 5’9″ He’s got 2″ on Porter.

Fight Aficionado

How tall is Brook? Now that there’s pics of them standing side by side he looks like a tall MFer.

They were crazy , cats and weirded girls that don’t smile we’re burned to toast. Boxtra would be toast too.

I think. LMAO!

More correctly stated, many aboriginal peoples thought the world was a dome with a flat base. But they did not think Earth was flat.

Actually, I may be wrong.

Posted August 15, 2014 3:16 pm

“Even prehistoric humans knew the world was spherical. At least the bright ones did. ”

Actually Tark, ALL of them did. They were aware that the sun, moon, and stars rose and fell in an arc across the sky. They had no preconception that the world was flat. They had no reason to.

I think if porter beating brook easly, he have no problem beating thurman, cake walk, both are similar boxer tall and can take you out with one punch. Thurman might punch a bit harder.

Posted August 15, 2014 2:55 pm

Boxtradamus.., “Just as everyone KNEW that the World was flat.”

Even prehistoric humans knew the world was spherical. At least the bright ones did.

They deduced that because new horizons kept appearing every time you traveled towards them. Plus all celestial bodies appeared to be spherical in shape, and the sun disappeared over one horizon and reappeared on the opposite horizon the next morning. It didn’t take a genius to figure out what was happening.

But that’s the same kind of deductive reasoning one needs to predict the outcome off boxing matches… Unfortunately you have never displayed that ability in your analysis… You’re wrong so often that you’ve taken to making multiple guesses for each close matchup. You even claim you picked Lomachenko to beat Russell when that’s a damned LIE!!!

The flat earth proponents were always the dumbest people on the planet, even in prehistoric days. They were equivalent to the folks today who believe the moon landings were fake—and are always predicting an economic crash right before an expansion. They’ll argue with you to the death over their bone headed conclusions. They’re the Sredmond’s, Hecdog’s, B Reds, teflons, It’s me Ernies, and Hamsters of the world.

Bill Patrice Jones.., “For every 1 big upset at world level there’s over 100 world title bouts that go exactly according to; common expectation.” …. LMFAO!!!

That’s a completely bogus statement Bill. There’s only 15 to 25 what could be called important title fights in a given year… I guarantee you that there’ll be more than one upset.

According to the odds you can get, you would soon be a billionaire if your statement were true… You could bet 10% of your net worth on every big fight favorite until you would be the richest man on the planet… but anything can happen in a fight.

You would end up dead broke… Because upsets like Provodnikov-Algieri and Gonzalez-Mares keep happening out of the blue—and the betting establishment takes a nice piece of your money.

Bill Patrice Jones

Just training three or so times a week with proper sparring mit work, conversations with coaches, heavy bag drills for a couple of years of your life makes you more an expert in boxing or gives you more expertise than picking the results for the big fights. That’s why so many of my friends tell me that find boxing annoying ‘how can you love a sport so much that’s so noncompetitive? When you always know who’s past it and who’s in their prime beforehand? When the best don’t fight or ‘play’ the best?’ That’s a common criticism of boxing. So trust me, as long as you’re not emotionally invested in certain fighters because you’re a big fan of theirs or go by nationalism and you decide to predict the big fights using common sense getting most right doesn’t mean a whole lot. People half the time get picks wrong because they’re picking with their heart, or out of faith etc or because they wanna take a chance on some wide odds.

Bill Patrice Jones

Well boxtradamus you do realise out of all major sports boxing is one with the least probability for upsets at world level, which is the only level most people predict on. Has there been more than 2 Klitschko fights of the past 7 years that weren’t painfully easy to predict for example? Boxing is a sport with too many high level mismatches for someone to claim they’re an expert for picking most of them right. That’s why 50/50 fights seldom ever happen and are so exciting. For every 1 big upset at world level there’s over 100 world title bouts that go exactly according to; common expectation, age, experience, recent form etc.

Boxtra’s Jester

I’m Boxtra’s Jester. You may have heard about me every time his picks have been wrong. I get the blame every time because in his and his mom’s eyes he is perfect. I don’t comment on here much because he gets mad and locks me in the closet with his semen stained Elton John porcelain doll collection. Just want to make it clear though if Boxxy is ever wrong it wasn’t him…obviously it had to be me.

“Why don’t you join them.”-Because I cant be beat. Therefore I don’t join anyone. People need to join ME.

“Everyone here already knows you’re a flake.”-Just as everyone KNEW that the World was flat. Everyone is wrong AGAIN.

Posted August 15, 2014 11:21 am

I should DO that. You can imitate MY name but you can’t imitate MY voice and MY face. GREAT idea. I don’t get them all right but I DO get most of them right. Thanks for the idea BPJ

Right Box… A YouTube account doesn’t cost anything. There’s a great number of less than stellar sages making erroneous prediction about politics, Boxing, the stock market etc. Why don’t you join them. Everyone here already knows you’re a flake.

Boxtradamus why don’t you just set up a youtube account to make your predictions. So there is a proven record in history of someone getting every single fight prediction correctly? lol

Good try DISCIPLE but everyone knows you are NOT the real ME. Brook by SMASHING KO.

Posted August 15, 2014 10:24 am

And thats why you remain as MY Jester. Porter WINS in SLAUGHTERHOUSE fashion.

Posted August 15, 2014 10:15 am

I have been saying Brook by UD. I am switching to Brook by SMASHING KO. He looks ready to tear Porter apart.

Posted August 15, 2014 10:06 am

Hope kelly Does not pull a toe Nail like that other brit Legend.

What is going on with this clown GGG, its already a done deal GGG is fighting Marco Rubio in his next fight. Rubio has what 6 losses an is no threat to GGG. Its crazy how GGG an Danny Garcia are fighting such weak competition. Really Golovkin has fought nobody, I can’t believe he wouldn’t face, Cotto, Quillen, Canelo or Froch what a fraud GGG is turning into.

porter is in way over his head on this one

Posted August 15, 2014 6:32 am

fun fight. Go Kell!

Posted August 15, 2014 5:47 am

Bill Patrice Jones

I agree about Brook’s power. Matthew Hatton said he hit much harder than Alvarez. Michael Jennings said he was the second hardest puncher he’d faced after Cotto who also stopped him early. When you watch Brook you see he’s hit form at the right time; 1./Totally dominated Matthew Hatton, 2./ Destroyed Carson Jones in the rematch and blasted out Senchenko with pure power. He’s built like Shane Mosley. But fighting Porter is a big step up from Carson Jones Senchenko or anyone else he’s beaten

Posted August 15, 2014 5:26 am

Brook’s a brilliant fighter. A proper welterweight puncher who could knock out guys all the way up to 160 if he had to. This is his big moment. Don’t think he’ll let it slip away from him. He’ll pressure Porter bully him and once Porter feels the power he’ll lose his edge like ninety nine percent of Brook’s opponents do. In so many of his decision wins the opponent has flat out just realised they don’t wanna get knocked out and are being pounded on the defensive. This is Brook’s time to shine. He seems relaxed and confident and in shape. Staying quiet because he knows a win here puts him in the frame for big time fights. Brook by TKO late on

Bill Patrice Jones

This is a huge and very very hard fight for Brook. He never got the luxury of a coming out party against a big name in a more winnable fight. This is just flat out an example of a very talented amateur whose had a successful pro career and has come to the point where he’s going to be tested against his first proper world class opponent. Talent pool in the welterweight division has been very deep over the past decade. I think Brook will lose this fight on a close decision. Brook’s very tough and hits hard. Porter wont be committing himself too much in the early going against a fellow puncher, but when Brook starts to feel the pressure in the mid to later rounds I can envision Porter closing the show and banking the late rounds to take the decision. I don’t ever support fighters just because they’re British and Brook annoys me, However I am pulling for him in this one. I think he’s talented and sharp and is world title quality.

Posted August 15, 2014 5:13 am

I tip Porter to win in 9 rounds, I think he will have to much energy for Brook. Kell is a talented fighter with a hard punch, but for him to win he will need to do real damage early. I think Porter will take Brook out of his comfort zone and beat him down as the rounds go by

Posted August 15, 2014 4:56 am

Brook by UD.
Brook has the power and reach to keep Porter at bay. Malignagi is feather fisted Brook is not. Brook also has very good skills ( he is a little slow for a welter) but his power is genuine.

I don’t think money itself or betting is very smart. Your better off doing SOMETHING to make money. Try buying something cheap and selling it high. Or working. Or investing wisely. I wouldn’t advise betting ESP on this fight
I would advise watching it though cause it could be a cracker. I think the talent gap between them is not that much. Brook hasn’t got the resume but this weekend he has a chance to start building one. If his chin holds up and stamina is there then he could wear porter down esp if porter comes out like he did agin miracle man. I really want to see brook snappier and getting off earlier though. Porter, well I think patience and selective aggression is his key for him. He said he will show some smarts. I think it’s very important he does, to win, and to show a wider skill set.

Posted August 15, 2014 1:31 am

People should not get hung up on Porters win v Malinaggi. Porter will not be able to bully and out muscle Brook. Looking forward to this fight. Porter close UD or SD seems smart money.
