Glen Tapia? Eh? Exposed vs Kirkland. What up RGR!

I wouldn’t mind seeing Glen Tapia vs. Gabriel Rosado in a fun regional fight (in Philly or AC) assuming Tapia gets past his foe in July and respective promoters can play nice.

light on

with Freddie Roach behind him as a trainer and some confidence popular should be cuddling in a rematch

“Paparazzi” Jones

Tapia looked like “a lion” this past Saturday vs. Collins, but as tbone pointed out, Collins was a very limited opponent. But, there were certainly nuances added to the Jersey Boy’s game by Roach and Co. (e.g., using the left hook to the body in a technically sound way). This was a more improved Tapia, irrespective of whether or not Collins was his opposition. Tapia did tell the press on hand that, if his management team put him back in with Kirkland, he’d be open to it. He did not appear (to me) to be calling Kirkland out, however. Whether he beats Kirkland in a rematch, I don’t know. But, based on some of the changes to his technique, I believe that it would be a more competitive fight than their initial scrap. Hopefully, that fight is made sometime down the line. We’ll see. But, I think he still needs a fight or two to build his confidence back up, before taking on the Mandingo Warrior or another upper tier opponent. Perhaps guys like Clottey, Delvin Rodriguez, Mundine, or Hopkins (Network affiliations and the Golden Boy fallout withstanding) would make sense after his next tune-up vs. Melson in July.

brick city

They fed Tapia to a lion too soon, and had the nerve to let ALEX train him??????? I know them from coming to the paterson nj gym. Alex wasnt in a position to train him and thats why im sure he didnt use him for the next fight. Alex cant even box so why would be the trainer for such a important fight.
