Curtis Stevens is going to knock GGG out! Simple! GGG has yet to fight anyone with Curtis Stevens power or anyone on Curtis Stevens level. R.I.P GGG

Posted September 4, 2013 4:51 pm

Stevens throws his punches too wide. And if he thinks he’s going to go in there and trade hooks with GGG, he’s doomed — he won’t make it past round three. Look for GGG to end this one EARLY.

Gonzo the Dragonborn

Golovkin better be real careful in this one… Stevens is from Brooklyn so he is.

boxing barlow

This is the worst fight to be made in boxing in a long time!

I still can’t believe that Pirog dramatically ko’d the undefeated Jacobs and then promptly disappeared into witness protection. Someday we will find out what really happened with that guy’s career.

Mick the Marmalizer

If Quillen wants any credibility then he’s gonna have to step up to the plate. If he won’t fight Golovkin, then would he chance his luck against the World’s #1 @ 160Lb S.G.Martinez? I very much doubt it! However Martinez would have been out of action for over a year, so must be carrying a certain amount of ring rust, so who knows?

Surely mismatch of the year!!………..

Pirog still injured or Pirog still scared as he can’t find his balls.
GGG knocks steven out in quick and dramatic fashion.
Ward is the only true test that awaits GGG, and my guess is, GGG gets schooled whilst he makes the fight competitive. Rodrigez needs time and needs to test himself before getting into the mix and I think he could really give Ward a run for his money. I just can’t wait for these fights.

I’d rather watch him fight Curtis Cokes.

Quick slaughter

They could have done a lot better than Stevens

Posted August 29, 2013 9:54 pm

stevens will get knocked out

Posted August 29, 2013 9:00 pm

Woop, your belief is wrong as shown by the very words of several promoters themselves.

Posted August 29, 2013 7:45 pm

Stevens is a nobody with nothing. GGG can’t find quality opponents. Macklin can’t make the trip. Chavez is a fat FK GGG would fight anyone anywhere. Trouble is the networks rule. Short night and more criticism of GGG.

Woop Woop

Again all I see is GGG ducking the other champs and he is fighting this Stevens guy who is ranked 16. Does GGG ever fight anyone in their prime or that holds another title? No. He always seems to find small blown up welter, Jnr Middles or ruined fighters who have previosly been KO’ed by another champ or ring rusty guys who have been out of the ring for 12+ months. Now he isn’t even fighting a Top 15 guy let alone Top 5 or 10 like he should be fighting. No wonder he needed to have that WBA strap given to him, he would spoil his pants if he ever needs to face one of the ‘real’ champs. Shovel that coal suckers, the GGG hype train is starting up again.

Too bad Pirog is still injured

Posted August 29, 2013 6:43 pm

GGG has more skills than Stevens, but less power!
Fight Aficionado you assess power by the KO ratio only, that’s inaccurate: Stevens knocks people with one punch, whereas GGG breaks down opponent over time, sometime leading to a TKO (tallied as KO)…

Once people esb resident are carried by emotion….
C. Morgan:
This is the first time GGG will face someone at least as powerful than him, true or false?

The first that connect flush, may win…
Stevenson can box as well…..

And by the way Finley has never been KOed (if I am not mistaken)… So don’t make it look as though he was a “nobody”

GGG will win this fight comfortably, although I would like to see Stevens “left hook” test his chin proper.

Posted August 29, 2013 4:51 pm

Kid Chocolate was really never high on the radar. He is one of the top 3 or 4 fighters at 160 though. GGG is the best in my opinion. Martinez doesn’t really want to fight the top fighters in his weight class. He hand picked Murray and that came to bite him even though he got a gift in that fight.

Posted August 29, 2013 4:49 pm

Fight News says Lomachenko may fight for world title in his 2nd bout if he wins his 1st against Oquendo. That’s crazy!!

Posted August 29, 2013 4:46 pm

I think KID CHOCOLATE has let the momentum slip away from him….Before the N’Dam bout he was possibly in most people’s lists as the best or second best Middle, but now he is almost forgotten…

Personally, I think he needs to get back on the horse and fight regularly over the next 12-18 months and work particularly on is defence, before he thinks about GGG….

His power is fine, but I thnk he lacks in his set-up and defence. Fighting regularly will sharpen is tools ad get I’m back in he mix….

I think Maravilla has slipped sufficiently (due to injuries- his body breaking down) for Chocolate to aim at a unification with him and it will be a toss-up, but GGG has stolen a march on him and he s ow playing catch-up, but it’s a fight I would like to see in 12-18 months if he can get the right bouts to prepare.

mr gav

A decent fight with a guaranteed knock out.

Posted August 29, 2013 3:46 pm

Stevens is going to find out the difference between the minor leagues and the major leagues real quick. GGG is an experienced, talented quality boxer that will stop Stevens before 9 rounds.

Slim Whitman

Good luck Curtis, I got the 3G network here.

Posted August 29, 2013 2:58 pm

Fight Aficionado

Stevens will be dangerous for as long as he lasts, which won’t be more than 4 rounds. GGG has no chin issues and has twice the skills and power of Stevens. Wish Martinez would step up to the plate…

Posted August 29, 2013 1:00 pm

Too bad GGG is forced to take these fights… He’s marking time until Peter Quillin or Sergio Martinez fight him. Boxing sucks at times.

Posted August 29, 2013 12:32 pm

I believe that this fight is going to be VERY short.
Going with GOLOVKIN.

Curtis Stevens is going to learn quickly that GGG is no Derrick Findley or Saul Roman.

Posted August 29, 2013 11:35 am

I like Stevens and will be cheering, but he’s cruisin’ for a bruisin’

Posted August 29, 2013 11:13 am

It’s Me, Ernie

Stevens is fast but Triple G is da man…
