Very interesting fight. Not sure who to go with. Fury has been down but not out. Haye has been out. Haye is explosive. Fury is big.

Haye is complete and total joke!

Nobody likes that jab. So he may be on the shelf for a while — and then be forced to fight a 2nd rater… That’s the way it usually goes when you don’t have the greatest connections.

Fury should be fighting Chisora instead of Haye. Fury it’s perfect for Chisora, both of them just talk and talk and talk. Neither of them have boxing skills, no movement, flat footed, too easy of a target,no stamina, NO HEART. They only have wins over fighters that only god knows who they were. Well ( Fury over a 36 year old Cunnigham)….. It’s sad to see a lot of ppl getting exited over Chisora,Fury,Gaven Reese, Kell Brook,Nathan Cleverly, Mathew Hatton and etc. I have Nothing against British boxers or ppl, I’m just saying that all this boxers are OVER RATED and not good enough in America. If all this boxers wanted to be at the top of boxing they should do what Amir Kahn did, come to America and face the best in their divisions. Well a lot of credit to Reese, came over to fight Brooner, that says a lot of Gaven, he wants to improve and not wanting to stay stuck in the British boxing “SUPER STARS”….

stuck in a moment

Can we please not talk about a wlad / haye rematch. The guy ran for 12 rounds. What a disgrace

Posted July 11, 2013 1:23 pm

David Haye will destroy Tyson Fury. Easy money. It’s not even gonna be close. I’m only tuning in to see Fury get KO’d.

Posted July 11, 2013 1:01 pm

I like Tyson a lot, but in the end it’ll be the two K bros (or only Vladimir, since Vitali has been considering retirement very often during the last year), and Pulev and Haye. I doubt Haye will get in the ring with Pulev, but Vlad will give Pulev a go next year. My money’s on Vladimir, and after that he’ll easily defeat Haye again.

Limey jay

I like the klitschko boys….great athletes, who have milked every benefit from their size….sounds easy but it ain’t, you can see a vast difference between them two ,and the other huge heavyweights around, who struggle to use their size advantages to anywhere near the level of wlad ,n, vitali.
But if you would have put haye in the ring with vitali the night chisora fought him then haye would have won…..the fact that a 18 fight novice , with no amateur background, who never attempted boxing till he was inspired by Ricky hatton vs tszu, pushed vitali till the final bell was enough to makeup my mind.
Vitali should have made easy work of old Del Boy, but he struggled.
Obviously chisora was brave and game , much more so than most others who have faced off against vitali, but he was well limited in skills.
I know I will hear from some stalwart vitali fans , that he was injured and was fighting one armed….but I don’t buy it, I saw Danny Williams box on to a win with an obvious dislocated shoulder, and to me vitali didn,t look one armed at all, and even so the guy should have been way too good for chisora….but that wasn,t the case.
Chisora and his antics surprised vitali, who looked slow and vulnerable all night, haye would of had some fun with tat vitali.
Haye haters will point to his cautious approach to wladimir and deride my statement, but wlads a different fighter to vitali, wlad is very protective of his chin, and is far more intelligent in his ring skills, vitali has faith in his chin and doesn,t try to hard to keep it out of harms way.
Vitali knows haye is a danger, that’s why he won’t want to fight him now…..he did say after wlad didn,t knock out haye that he would….I think he has had second thoughts.

Well if Kubrat doesn’t fight soon he could lose that IBF #1 spot, probably to Jennings. Wlad will probably fight Helenius next then.

If you think u have info to the contary, post it. Til then, your wrong. I’m right. Good day

Whatever happens I guess after this fight the fans and critics won’t be able to say Fury is ducking top rated fighters, after all , every organization has Haye highley rated. I for one do not write off Fury completely, has some so called fans do, I think he has a certain amount of talent, and of course he is so big, however, he continues to make amateur mistakes, with both his balance and his occasional slapping,he also, at times seems more interested in the crowd, than following a game plan, top fighters cannot get away with that, against other top fighters, against journeymen, sometimes. To have a real shot at victory, he must get himself in top shape, and the big thing is, he must CONCENTRATE on his opponent and follow instructions, if he doesn’t he WILL lose.

Posted July 11, 2013 11:20 am

Should be an interesting fight, while it lasts.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:55 am

Well, Haye is going to clean Fury’s plow.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:54 am

pulev??? fury said no. haye said no. popkins probably said no. wilder did not open the letter. jennings, mitchell, helenius, banks, areola, adamek, boytsov, ???? pulev himself said he does not want any meaningless fights. it is a disrespectful to himself and fans. nobody in the top 20 wants to touch pulev. it should have been fury. fury back out. haye backed out. thompson is already messing up some people’s hopes. pulev is the plague. Thompson is the trial.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:50 am

Then be the next defense for Vlad in 2014. But he’s being somewhat inactive in reality.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:48 am

helenius will not jump in the ring with pulev. no takers on pulev at the moment. helenius-pulev would be great. pulev will dismantle the rest of helenius remaining shell.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:41 am

Pulev hasn’t even fought since last Septemer. Helenius in March against Sprott. They should get active lest Haye gets the next shot….let’s hope not.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:35 am

A bout between two #1 contenders is a good idea because if someone holding multi titles misses a deadline for fighting one of them then he may be stripped of that title. But the organizations would each have to make the winner of a box off such as this the #1 contender of their group after the fight.

Posted July 11, 2013 10:29 am

Unbelievable fight. I would have never seen this coming. Both are doing good money and they have their excuses writen already if they loose. Fury is too green and Haye can´t loose this one. In the end he gives Fury some credit and say fury will be champion one day to give a bit glory for his win.

Both will win, garanteed.

I was unaware of that but it’s happened bfore and also Vwith all of the alphabet organizations out there it cames it easier for a multiple titleist like Vlad to keep from bouncing around to each #1 in each organization. How can anyone say that LL would have knocked Vitali cold when he’s never been ko’d like that? Lewis was trained for a title fight at the time or at least should have been. Vitali was the one who took the fight on 2 weeks notice.

The winner of this mega fight deserves a shot at either Klitschko brother and has a good shot at beating them. Especially Haye who wobbled Wlad and gave him best fight we’ve ever seen. A healthy Haye, without foot injuries, will KO Wlad in the rematch. Haye would beat Vitali right now!

The undercard could be interesting. Hopefully due to the Haye/Booth connection WBC #1 mandatory contender George Groves gets a crack @ champion Sakio Bika. If successful this could get the Saint a 50% split with WBA/IBF titlist Carl Froch next Spring.

@hello- dude your delusional. Vitaly has never been knocked out, knocked down, or given a standing 8 since he started fighting in november 1996.

Nobody is or ever was gonna ko vitaly. Not lennox. And lennox hit vitaly with all he had in uppercuts. Vitaly was unphased concussively.

Part of the reason vitaly retired lewis. Vitaly had lewis about ko’ed in 2 rounds. Got so desperate team lennox lewis had 2 cheat. Its common knowledge son.

@kidblast- you obviously don’t know who has the beat son.

Haye rips him up – to much lateral movement and looks. The template to beat Fury is the Cunningham fight and while Cunningham couldn’t sustain the game plan because the bigger man wore him before he tore him up Haye is a bigger man and better strategist.

I don`t know I`d generalise to Haye struggling against big heavies. I think he struggles with someone as talented as Wlad

I mean Valuev isn`t just big – he is a freak of nature. It would only take a few clinches wiht him leaning on Haye for Hayes legs to have gonbe entirely, so while I don`t like the running tactics – they were understandable in that instance.

With the Wlad fight, Haye had a massive problem to overcome in the form of Wlads jab. If he sits at the end of it`s range he gets peppered to death. If he slips left and attempts his lead left hook he is walking into one of the most devastating straight rights in boxing, and if he gets too predictable in going right, then he gets the left hook that switche chambers off.

Haye’s best option, and the one he took was to sit just out of range and either feint an opening to leap at, or to draw something overly aggressive from Wlad – hence all the trashtalking beforehand – he wanted Wlad angry and not thinking properly.
Wlad ties you up and leans on you up close so I even understand flopping down – maybe once, to show the ref what is happening.

The problem though is that Wlad is just too good. The technical skills, mixed with astounding speed for a guy that size, fantastic footwork and ability to control range just left each of Hayes plans coming up blank. Then even when the plan worked a little in round 12, Wlad showed he DOES have a decent enough chin, and even came back to arguably win the round – so Haye couldn`t take him out even when Wlad did what he wanted him to.

Wlad is a million miles away from Fury though. Each Fury jab isn`t a weapon that will crush Haye down a little further, Fury’s jabs are often lazy and each one is an opportunity to follow it back with a right hand.

Allied to this Fury will probably hype himself into believing his own trash talk and think he can walk Haye down, and while it is true that Haye can look uncomfortable under pressure – e.g. vs Mormeck and Chisora, it is also true that guys walking into him present him with opportunities.

I initialyy predicted a KO2 by Haye, but Fury has shown decent whiskers and an instinct to survive that the likes of a Maccarinelli didn`t have, so I`d say it might go down the Ruiz route. Fury knocked down and hurt early, but then surviving through a few rounds before getting a tonking when Haye gets his second wind – maybe KO8 – and given the trashtalk, a nasty nasty KO it will probably be too.

Posted July 11, 2013 1:46 am

I wouldnt be praising Haye too much for his efforts against Valuev after all old man Holyfield I believe also won his fight despite the scorecards and if you asked me was no where near as defensive as Haye. Good win for Haye but he demonstrated in that fight and the fight against Wlad that he wont risk throwing combos against the giants like he did against Barrett, Ruiz, Chisora because he knows he cant risk getting caught backpeddaling giving up so much reach..Against Wlad he knew this would prove lethal but he also new Wlad would outmuscle him and wear him down so he chose to drop to the canvas instead. Against Valuev who was slower he chose to dance around on the outside because he new Valuev was slow but Haye was still weary of getting caught reaching.

Patrick2 Haye redeemed himself when he did what vitali could not do KO Chisora. Haye is going to beat Fury like a drum then KO his Off the trolls Arse

Patrick2, Haye fought a disciplined and focused bout against the Giant Russian and actually wobbled him in the last round. He did what no one else has ever been able to do. Fury has a far less dependable chin then Valuev. If Haye connects with one of his explosive rights to Fury’s jaw, there will be no singing after this one.

The styles are perfect for a Haye KO of Fury.

Yea, and Klitschko leaned on Haye too. Big guys do that. And that shot Fury hit Cunningham with had a wreaking-ball effect.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:50 pm

FYI — I’m not a Fury fan, and really don’t care much at all for the heavyweights, preferring to watch 175 and lower. I just think if Fury fights smart, and tall, Haye is going to have more troubles than many of you think. It’s mostly a matter if Fury’s bravado dooms him by giving Haye the opening(s) he needs.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:48 pm

Hey, That’s My Bike!!!

Yeah I saw the Cunningham fight. That was the one where Fury leaned his blubber body all over Cunningham for 5-6 rounds until Cunningham couldn’t hold him up anymore. That was not a KO by power that was a KO from being gassed.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:43 pm

Haye has to redeem himself in this fight. That Klitschko fight of his was disgraceful! He talked ALL kinds of crap pre-fight (and that was the worst part), made millions, yet once in the ring he did nearly NOTHING to try to win. Have you Haye supporters already forgotten about that, or have you just forgiven him?

Posted July 10, 2013 9:40 pm

Haye would be the the top World heavyweight boxer by far, but for the giant Klitsckos, they are athletes as well, Wladimir Klitschko for definite, not sure about Vitali, he could get caught by Haye, but his chin might take it.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:27 pm

“No power.” Did you see the Cunningham fight? And note: Fury is 71% — 21 with 15 KOs.

Lewis beat Vitali Klitschko, he had not even trained properly, if he had trained, took the fight seriously, he would of knocked him out for a 10 count, but he still won against a very dangerus Vitali Klitschko.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:11 pm

Haye wasn’t impressive at all against Valuev. Against Harrison — so what? And against Klitschko, it was take the money and run, literally… oh, and fall down a lot.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:05 pm

Haye is probably better than Tyson in his prime, he is 215lb and has the speed and the punch to compete with big heavyweights, people say the greats before were too small to compete with todays giant heavyweights, David Haye can, it’s not a problem, he always fights big fighters.

Posted July 10, 2013 9:03 pm

Haye doesn’t struggle against tall heavyweights, he beat Valuev, wobbled him in the last round, no fighter had done that to thick big skull, beat Harrison and the Wladimir Klitschko fight, that is 3 fights against very tall heavyweight boxers.

This should prove to be a very interesting fight. Hayes struggles badly against the really big heavies — and Fury is BIG. And Fury has a history of leaning in and fighting small, leaving himself open, something Haye needs Fury to do in order to deliver a bomb. That said, keep in mind and make no mistake, Fury has power too — the thumping George Foreman type — it isn’t not fast or flashy but it does big damage. I think Haye will need to fight aggressively, something he doesn’t do against the big guys and Fury needs to fight cautiously, something he never does.
