Granville – Retire??? Cleverly will be lucky if he wakes up. Kovalev dstroys the overhyped Cleverly. My prediction (in the words of Clubber Lang) PAIN!!!!!!!!

Posted June 11, 2013 9:39 pm

WHAT!?! – If Cleverly is as weak as you claim, he should be retiring soon after the proposed (not official as yet) fight with Kovalev, who should prove to be too quick and too heavy handed for Cleverly to be able to cope with. That’s assuming that Kova beats White in their upcoming fight in a few days.

All this talk about Cleverly is a joke. The guy is amateurish and hasn’t fought anyone. Absolute joke of a fighter. He will be KO’ed before retiring.

Bellew is a rugged, durable journeyman sort of fighter who could pose problems for Adonis, but I doubt that he has the skill set to beat him. Cleverly, though he knew he was in a fight, handed Bellew a clearcut defeat and I would expect Stevenson would pretty much do likewise. OTOH, I’d much rather see a Stevenson vs Cleverly unification bout, which would figure to be a much more competitive matchup, at least in my view.

Nothing is confusing at 175. Stevenson is the Champion and all roads lead to him

The last “TARK” is a troll of course.

How can bellwho call himself champ until he beats Clev ..he can’t the same as Froch.. until he beats ward he’s not the champ the truth end of sorry boys your 2nd best pmsl.

to all the people claiming Bellew is just looking for a pay day… he has earnt his right to call out Stevenson by working his way into mandatory position with the WBC – proving he is no mug

Things seem rather confused @ 175Lb right now & no one appears to know who’s #1 in the division. WBO titlist Nathan Cleverley seems to have all the tools to rule the roost, but is obviously being held back by Mr Frank Warren & Beibut Shumenov(WBA) has been seen as often as Lord Lucan of late. Unification is the only way forward. A super six featuring Clev, Shumenov, BHOP, Bellew, Stephenson + one other contender could work well & sort out who is the genuine #1 light-heavyweight in the World if only the managers/promotors could get it together.

Yep, you’ve got it Vinny, every person who laces a pair of pig skins on becomes a world champion.

Bellew won’t have any say in it,he won’t get a chance coz he’s not world leval he’s a just a bolshy mouth piece who brings nothing to the table.Clev beat him hands down,as did chilemba in there first fight.

Don’t be so quick to write Bellew off! Great ko by Stevenson but as another has said on here already how much can you tell from that 1st round ko?

Adonis Stevenson is going to open up the Pugilist KOrner tomorrow night.

If anyone has any questions for him, please list them with your ESB moniker and I will ask him on the air Tuesday, 9PM EST.

Thanks, everyone!!

Bellew CAN’T help it… There’s nothing he can do about it.. Cleverly kicked his ass going away, and that will be the high point of his career.

@what. I found your helmet. You need to put it back on before u walk into a sign

Ward beat all 168lb that proved themselves. Bute wasn’t one of them. He was an overrated fighter plain and simple. Heck his last fight looked terrible.

Posted June 10, 2013 11:59 pm

You won’t hear boo from Ward. He wouldn’t even take on Bute in Oakland. At least Froch had the sack to expose Bute. Ward is scared to take on any half challenge faking injuries and we all know he won’t travel. Stevenson looks the goods but we are possibly yet to see if he is the real deal or another Jeff Lacy. A Froch fight would answer that question but you won’t get anything from non-titlist Ward.

@Anonymous Adonis is a little better than what you make him out to be .And he would beat Cloud and Steiglitz easily IMO .

Posted June 10, 2013 11:39 pm

To me he looks like a LHW Kendall Holt – power no skills.

He`s had his 15 mins and he`ll lose that title pretty quickly

Posted June 10, 2013 10:56 pm

Catching a guy cold and getting a KO1 is entertaining but tells you nothing about that boxer. Stevenson has yet to step up and at 35 he will never be the “next big thing”. He would lose to Froch, Kessler, Steiglitz and Ward at 168 or Cloud, Hopkins and others at 175. He’ll only get one of those though. Then he’ll be exposed as a hard-hitting B-level fighter and that’ll be it.
