Khan doesn’t room to talk, his comeback has been very shameful.

Lucas Matthysse would smash up Khan at some stage if they met. Khan forgets his boxing skills, stands and trades and he couldn’t against Matthysse. Matthysse against Garcia and/or Khan, great match-ups.

Is that comment from Khan a joke? Peterson didn’t look half as bad as ANY of Khan’s nighty nite moments. Had it been anyone other than LM, he may have even survived. Khan needs to be quiet and focus on his career and chin.

I think Khan should look in the mirror, and remember his own losses, unless I’m mistaken, didn’t he get flattened a couple of times? so what makes him more qualified than Peterson to launch a comeback?
he talks good, put him in with Matthyse now, and see what happens, then he can talk.

Well then it’s difficult seeing you coming back after your LOSS to Garcia TOO then.

I’m starting to HATE Khan…that foo needs to shut his mouth!

Best fight record in da 140lb division n never backs down from any1 he fights 1big opponent after another came back after devastating KO’s achieved World Champion status…never been in a boring fight ..yes..I do say he cant fight on the inside or when been pressured on the back foot…but he is one of the finest young boxers of today no doubt. sell out arenas both side of the Atlantic.#Amirkhan

tom…I agree with you except that Khan really didnt lose to Peterson he edged him in a close fight…and lets not forget Peterson was cheating using roids…but yes your right about the rest.

Bit hypercritical of khan to say that after the way he’s been bombed out by Garcia an Prescott, an Ideal fight now would be khan vs. Peterson, I don’t think khan looked good in his last fight almost like a shot fighter at just 26..If Khan boxed Lucas it would be a career ending fight for him he needs to rematch Petterson, or fight alexander Devon for the IBF 147 lb title, or cash out with a may weather fight.

Dan D… Let’s not conveniently forget that Lucas beat Judah and Alexander in the vast majority of people’s eyes and was not only fighting away from home with everything stacked in his opponent’s favour, but he’s also a different fighter now as a consequence of being on the receiving end of those bad decisions. The Judah fight was only his second fight over in the US, and his first on the big stage.. not to mention it was only a few miles away from Judah’s hometown. He fought Alexander in his hometown too, a place where Devon had already been the beneficiary of hometown cooking before, winning a decision over Kotelnik despite hitting nothing but arms, gloves and fresh air all night. As is so often the case with America’s best, neither Judah or Alexander have fought outside the protective sanctuary of the US where the deck is always stacked heavily in their favour when fighting foreign opponents and it benefited them both greatly against Matthysse.. Teey never would’ve been awarded the decisions on neutral soil let alone in Argentina, a place incidentally where neither of them would’ve dared fight over in in a million years.

This coming from glass joe. Hilarious.

For Khan, it is a matter of risk. It is unlikely that he can beat Mathysse or Mayweather, but the job with Mayweather, if he can get it, pays better. I think Khan can compete with Peterson, and maybe even Alexander, but a Mayweather fight is the golden parachute for a guy who has suffered some punishment already. Unless you are a very special fighter, long careers in boxing are not good for your health.

Khan got embarrassingly put to sleep by Prescott and Garcia, and has lost to Peterson. Who is he to be preaching about coming back.

Posted May 20, 2013 6:55 am

Then again, lets not get carried away with the decisions judah and alexander “have” over lucas. Most fans know those were gift decisions. Keep it in perspective and keep it real.

Dan D

Lets not get too carried away on the hype train guys. Lets not forget that both Zab Judah and Alexander have decisions against Lucas. The guy can seriously bang but he lost against two decent, but not elite fighters. Khan isn’t the man to beat him though. I would be surprised if Khan got to mid rounds.

yep yep. Khan needs to learn the “hit and dont get hit” tactic. Otherwise his career becomes stagnant and spirals downward eventually. At this rate he will quickly become a gatekeeper.

Bedtime bear

I think Garcia is gonna get it too. He’s got a better chin than Peterson but that just means we get to see Lucas land a few more bombs before the fight ends abruptly.

Khan has mistaken the idea of being a victim of a KO and having a china-chin with being a chin specialist. Honestly nobody wants to hear what he has to say about someone having a tough time coming back when he gets staggered and slobbers on himself in almost every fight.

Posted May 20, 2013 12:20 am

The thing about Khan, I almost feel pitty for him. I get this impression that he desperately wants to prove to the world that his chin isnt the issue. So he goes out there brawling and duke it out with punchers to prove he has a tough chin, he completly throws out the game plan. He needs to realize he has a fragile chin, no shame in that, it what you were born with. Instead use your BRAIN. Use ur talents to ur advantage, protect yourself and win. Throw away that stupid pride and listen to ur trainer, stick with your game plan.

You’re only as good as your natrual ability and your trainer’s competence can make you… Look at way Purdy fought… His skills stink to high Heaven.. He doesn’t have the first idea how to box.. Khan is willing to work or he never would have medaled in the Olympics.. Sometimes it’s a matter of chemistry.. Khan probably won’t switch trainers again, and maybe he needs to.. Whatever Hunter is doing with him it’s not working, because maybe he’s not seeing the real problems that clearly.

Posted May 20, 2013 12:15 am

IF I was Hunter I would give Khan an ultimatum to shape UP or ship OUT. He’s obviously not serious about improving or else he wouldn’t be calling out Mayweather. He should be focused on improving his SKILLS and acknowledge that he’s not ready for Mayweather yet. Like I SAID before, the first step is to recognize yoir mistakes the next is to not repeat them. Khan must show that he doesn’t repeat the same mistakes before calling out Mayweather or Matthysse. Until then he’s just a JOKESTER looking for a PAYDAY.

I’m disappointed that I haven’t seen the improvements in Khan I expected to see in his 2 fights under Virgil Hunter’s tutelage… I also think the choice of Julio Diaz was dead wrong. He’s a tough swinger with moderate power and Khan has too many problems right now. I expected the schooling and retooling program Khan is undergoing to be more intensive and progressive.

It’s pretty sad. Khan is steadily getting the crap beaten out of him and he’s not getting that much help from Hunter or Ward. I think VH is willing to put Khan in with whomever. Go for the big score since Khan is not picking his game up. Take the money and run. A return with Peterson in England might be a winnable fight. It might be a big money fight. But win or lose Khan is going to suffer many more heavy shots to the noggin … He’s still a freakin’ basket case in there.

Posted May 19, 2013 10:52 pm

didn’t khan get stopped? he got hammered bad. khan was on the wrong end of a john holmes porno for a metaphor. khan was like the Italians when they fought the british in North Africa. He submitted to a good journeyman. why does he get attention$$$

Posted May 19, 2013 10:49 pm

All I will said is that Peterson has better chin than khan !!!
