Hidalgo – for example would you care to explain to me why you had issues with Floyd sucker punching Ortiz while you had no issues, made no comment about Ortiz headbutting Mayweather several times before the warning and before the most deliberate headbutt in the history of boxing. Should we bury yours and Merchant’s discrimination too.

Bo Bo Olson

An old out of shape and 37 was real old back in the talent rich days, lost a fight to a young tall in shape fighter. Johnson did not throw the fight. . Prime to prime Johnson would have won…prime to prime Joe Louis would have beat the Rock…but Joe was old 36 and no longer prime. “”””Johnson was knocked out in the 26th round of the scheduled 45 round fight. Johnson, although having won almost every round, began to tire after the 20th round, and was visibly hurt by heavy body punches from Willard in rounds preceding the 26th round knockout.
Johnson is said by many to have spread rumors that he took a dive, but Willard is widely regarded as having won the fight outright. Willard said, “If he was going to throw the fight, I wish he’d done it sooner. It was hotter than hell out there.”.”””wiki.
Age and being out of shape ends champions of any era.
Yes he deserves to be pardoned.

According to wikipedia (“Mann Act”) Johnson was pardoned in 2009.

Supreme Court

You have the proof on this thread of what the Highest Court have been saying for years: coward rednecks, klans members are roaming around here under the hoods of their keyboards….
Its therefore a great pleasure every time they whine here on ESB:
Broner, Mayweather, Ward….You ain’t cried yet !!! Still have decades of pain and despair here on ESB….

All of those greats from yesterday………..jack johnson, jack dempsey, marchiano, patterson, joe louis………..they would all make great cruiser weights today. All way to small for the heavies of the 21 century

Just taking credit for another groups work. typical of an organization that gives value to a silver titlist

what happened was such a travesty he don’t even need pardoning

Pardoning a dead man means nothing. Our current President and our generation owes nothing to Jack Johnson. The people, the society, the government that screwed him are long dead. Let history be.

horst fraze

johnson was a sly devil. one of the few heavies that could hold his own in the ring today. no wonder ali idolized him.
