Fury back in action in February

Promoter Frank Warren confirmed today that Tyson Fury will headline London’s O2 Arena on Saturday 28th February in his final fight before going on to challenge for the WBO World Heavyweight Championship.

The undefeated Manchester star will face a top 15 ranked contender to be announced as he keeps busy ahead of a long-awaited shot at reigning WBO World Champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Fury put on the best performance of his career last month when he defeated Dereck Chisora for a second time, completely shutting out the Londoner with a dominant performance over ten rounds before Chisora was retired by his corner. Continue reading

Statement from Ricky Burns

Having successfully defended a claim of nearly £2m by Frank Warren last month, Ricky Burns was disappointed to have been ordered to pay an element of costs towards Warren in relation to the far smaller award in Warren’s favour for unpaid management commission. Khan defeats Alexander; Thurman unimpressive against Bundu

Amir Khan won a convincing 12-round unanimous decision victory over Devon Alexander in a matchup of two of the fastest welterweights in the world on Saturday in the main event of SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The impressive victory was nearly a shutout, with Khan winning 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108 to remain undefeated at 147 pounds and extend his winning streak against southpaws to seven.

In just his second fight at welterweight pounds, Khan was the supremely accurate boxer. The former unified super lightweight world champion landed 54 percent of his power punches to Alexander’s 32 percent and 43 percent of his total shots versus Alexander’s 20 percent. But it was Khan’s hand speed and combinations that were too much for Alexander, who couldn’t get inside against and take any chances against the Brit. Continue reading
