GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Section Live and Two Fists Promotions are uniting again to bring an exciting night of boxing to Grand Rapids. Wintertime Warfare, February 22 at The DeltaPlex Arena, will be an evening filled with action featuring West Michigan athletes and their equally skilled opponents. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation in honor of National Cancer Prevention Month. Familiar names from last October’s boxing event at The DeltaPlex, Slugtoberfest, will be reappearing on the bout sheet for February 22. Continue reading

(Jan. 17, 2014) — Dover Downs Hotel & Casino with Champ’s Management announce a championship boxing event on Friday, Feb. 21, in the Rollins Center® at 7 p.m. The headline bout features welterweight “The New” Ray Robinson, of Philadelphia, Pa., fighting for the NABO title. His opponent is yet to be determined.

Luis Collazo Embraces Young Friend, Nephcure Foundation For January 30 Fight

BROOKLYN, NY (Jan. 16, 2014)– Brooklyn-born former WBA Welterweight World Champion Luis Collazo is dedicating his crucial January 30 fight for the WBA International Welterweight title against former World Champion and crossover star “Vicious” Victor Ortiz to The NephCure Foundation, a kidney disease non-profit with which he has a special connection.

The two-time New York City Golden Gloves Champion (34-5-3, 17 KO’s), now a 32-year-old veteran hunting another world title opportunity, will wear www.NephCure.org on his robe and trunks for the main event of the Thursday, Jan. 30 show live on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes in honor of 15-year-old Allie Genatt, who suffers from the incurable kidney disease FSGS. Genatt, who underwent a kidney transplant at age 11, lives in Brookville, Long Island and is a prime mover in advocating for more research to find better treatments and a cure for her affliction.
