a Lot of great fighters have emerged from the “Mexican Cantina” circuit and you underestimate the toughness of Mexican cabbies at your own risk. just ask Calvin Grove, Roger Mayweaher, Six Heads” Lewis, and Juan Lopez. they would be able to tell you all about it.

I predict that Mayweather versus Canelo will not happen because Canelo will lose to Trout. I also predict that Mayweather versus Trout will not happen for several reasons – Trout doesn’t have an exciting style or a lot of power (even though I think he is an elite fighter) and he is too big of a risk for a relatively low reward – Mayweather could get the same money for fighting an easier opponent than Trout.

two thirds of Canelos record was fought in Mexican CAntinas vs unknown bums who had few fights if any.. He started compiling that record when he was 13 years old!!!! LOL He’s all smoke and mirrors.. he hasn’t fought a top undefeated fighter his size ever! Old, shot , over the hill smaller opponents.. I guess since Trout couldn’t hurt or put Old Cotto away they feel Canelo has a chance.. Because if Trout had proven to be a Wrecking Machine in the Ring, the Canelo people would never go near him..

“Canelo is one of the most protected over hyped fighters in recent history”.
Here you go Lee, simple little question for you, but you must go and put a dress on while you write your answers down.Of Alverez’s last six opponents, which fighter was named “Cloud” and what dress does “Cloud” now wear?
Arum has done his devilment and will walk away playin pocket billiards with the 2 penny’s he’s played with for the last 25 years!

I am surprised that Canelo hasn’t found an excuse to back out of this fight yet!

HIDALGO, that’s the scenario i see unfolding as well. Trout can’t discourage Canelo from coming forward and this inability isn’t gonna sustain him for 12 entire rounds. at some point, Canelo’s strength will overlap with Trout’s weakness(es) and momentum will either suddenly or gradually shift in Canelo’s favor. i anticipate by the 5th but certainly by the 7th. Trout could’ve used a bit more seasoning before stepping up to Canelo but his confidence and ambition are commendable. a devastating loss would be a Huuuge setback after nailing the Cotto shortcut to prominence. he’s got all of the incentive to prepare for the best fight of his career and Canelo shouldn’t underestimate him but rather prepare to deMolish Trout and place him squarely on the threshold of elite contention.

This guy Lee says that Canelo is protected and overhyped I am a HUGE Andre Ward fight but look back and see who the hell he was facing at 22?? Canelo is being brought along rather quickly in the modern era to be honest…He is about to fight a unification and had been chasing a former P4P fighter like Williams and a hard out like Kirkland… All this whining is because guys don’t like the kid and he is building his name… We have the HW Champion of the World fighting his old KO victims and sparring partners… Meanwhile Canelo is facing one of the best in his division… I have a feeling he is going to surprise everyone by how he handles Trout

“whatever Trout does well, he’ll have to do for 12 entire rounds with Canelo in hot pursuit. at some point, they’ll exchange and the momentum will shift in Canelo’s favor.” I agree with that, te tumbo. There is no way Trout will be able to withstand Canelo’s power. And he’s not gonna have enough power or skills to take Canelo out.

Lee, I think Josesito Lopez called out Alvarez and that’s how he ended up fighting the smaller Lopez.

Trout will have even worse luck with Canelo than he did with Rodriguez. Even though he handlly outpointed Rodriquez, once he felt Rodriguez’s power, he mostly stayed outside the combat zone, instead preferring to point his way to a win. Alvarez has more power than Rodriguez and he won’t make the same mistakes that Delvin did when he fought Trout. Other than Miguel Cotto, Saul Alvarez is the highest caliber opponent that Trout will have met to date. Alvarez is a great technician, generally demonstrates excellent ring generalship, and in my mind is more than a match for Austin Trout.

I never said canelo is scared or he is a ducker. Canelo himself wants to fight the best his handlers are protecting canelo for his own good. They underestimated trout and they will pay for it.

Give it a rest this kid had half his opponents damn near die when he was looking for a more dangerous foe, he is taking on Trout who is all risk and very little reward from a Marquis standpoint…If Canelo was a ducker he would not be taking this fight because Trouts not a big name EXCEPT to hardcore fans who have jumped on the bandwagon..

Many 22 year old fighter could of destroyed the likes of Alfonzo gomez, josesito Lopez, ancient Shane mosely and the great Matthew Hatton lol. Canelio always fights welterweights or even lightweights like josesito at 154. Its easy to look good fighting bums while you have a significant size advantage.

if it weren’t that for various reasons Martinez, Kirkland, and Mayweather aren’t available, i would finally agree with those who complain that Canelo is avoiding the best comp by facing Trout. IMO, Thurman or even Ortiz would provide a sterner test for Alvarez than Trout.

whatever Trout does well, he’ll have to do for 12 entire rounds with Canelo in hot pursuit. at some point, they’ll exchange and the momentum will shift in Canelo’s favor. we’ve all seen it happen dozens of times and i don’t believe Trout has the raw power to discourage Canelo from doing it again. only a scorecard robbery would honor a Trout performance of constant grappling, backpedaling, and flicking punches. otherwise, Alvarez walks him down, forces him to exchange, and it’s a sudden stoppage or gradual TKO in Canelo’s favor. Trout can’t avoid that sequence of events for 12 entire rounds.

The El Paso Fight Prophet

I like trout and haves seen both guys in action. Canelo however has the look of Great fighter in the making while trout looks about as good as he’s gonna be. I Predict Canelo will shine enough to take both belts and then move to bigger and better things. Trout is a lot like Winky Wright where he competes with the best of them, But as the case with winky he can be outworked by elite fighters which is what Canelo IS.

I’m going with Trout. It doesn’t matter the crowd. Trout was in the same situation in his last fight. He fought in front of a pro Cotto (NY Puerto Rican crowd) and he did what he had to do to win.

Canelo is one of the most protected over hyped fighters in recent history. Rewatch Canelo vs Alfonzo Gomez and canelo vs josesito Lopez. Andre Ward made a insightful comment about Cloud, he said cloud was only good when he’s in heavy bag mode. Fighters like cloud and canelo can’t deal with movement. Trout will outbox canelo from the outside but the shocking thing is that trout will out muscle canelo on the inside.
