Bakie Longta

Who else? 2012 belongs to Donaire if you are an honest sport fan.

Posted December 30, 2012 1:04 pm

No. Mares, JMM, Garcia, all more deserving

Gagi Wah

Between the two there’s NO DOUBT that Donaire is the cleaner fighter for undergoing 24/7/365 STRICT and CREDIBLE VADA Drug Tests!

beside marquez knocking manny out what marquez done the whole year tho if marquez didn knock manny out it no way he be close to getting the fight of the year if you going off resumes of this year then abner mares or donaire should win but you going off who put on the best performance then yeah marquez should take it no questions he knock out one of the pound for pound best it dont get no better then that andre ward should be mention to but i guess marquez do deserve the to get it

Donaires a wonderful fighter and a Champion to the core… But Juan Manuel Marquez is the fighter of the year…. He got a victory in resounding fashion that he had pursued like a crack habit for 8 years…Manny Pacquiaos scalp in the fashion was worth more than everyone Donaire bested combined and it came during and EPIC fight and rivalry…. Marquez at 39 earned the accolades that have eluded him for YEARS despite his committment to the sport and accomplishments

Well, Donaire fought 4 times this year and he won every fight, two by stoppage. He hasn’t lost a fight in 11 years and now he’s called out the best in the division he’s fighting in. I’d say he’s a top contender for fighter of the year. So is Danny Garcia and Juan Manuel Marquez.

Nope. No explanation needed, just look at his BoxRec. I don’t even like Broner one bit, but I think even he’s more deserving of the fighter of te year title.

i just want to remind you what happened to barrera , morales , margarito , dela hoya and other mexicans , they are all mutilated confered to just one lucky punch , now watch out on thier 5th encounter im pretty sure marquez will look for his own grave yard he follow his country men

To Author, so who you suggest to be a fighter of the year? Marquez, i supposed? You should learn more things prior to write another article…PACQUAIO is in charge before marquez hit him with that shot. If not for that, marquez wil be the one sneezing colds. Please next time wrote something a worthy article not just based on emotions.

Author – I don’t think the quality of his opponents is high enough for Donaire to deserve the Fighter of the Year award…LOL, Keep on dreaming while its free. Best Opponent becomes very ordinary when they fight NONITO!

Bravo NONITO! & your very clean not like the others who pretend to be clean, hahaha.

Noni to is joke

donaire is a fraud fighting grandpas and bums , RIGONDEAUX is the flash not him

No. Who has he beaten? Marquez is fighter of the year. PEDs and all. That was the most sensational victory in quite a while.

Posted December 24, 2012 1:19 am

Cherry picker of the year hands down bar none! lol

The Kingslayer

Marquez does not deserve it just for knocing out Pac.

Posted December 23, 2012 10:13 pm

The Kingslayer

Yes he won for fight against top ten guys.

B Red

Marquez should win

personally donaire is one of the best fighters ive ever seen, he has it all he knows how to dictate the pace watching him is why they call it the sweet science and its fighters like donaire is why UFC will never trump boxing – yeah we can all talk about other fighters being better e.t.c. but we have a great fighter and rather than argue we should enjoy donaire, broner, mares e.t.c.

The Prince

Mares, Donaire, and Martinez, don’t deserve the award. If anyone deserves it, it’s Juan Manuel Marquez. In one fight he achieved, fight of the year, knockout of the year, and accomplishment of the year, proving he was always better than Manny Pacquiao and sealed his legacy as an modern ATG after being in the shadow of other Mexican fighters his whole career.

Two biggest wins of 2012: Ward against Dawson & Marquez against Pacquiao so FOTY 2012: both Andre Ward and Super Marquez

Posted December 23, 2012 6:59 pm

Donair does not deserve fighter of the year. There are better fighters whom deserve it unlike let me pick the easiest fighter like Martinez and Donaire do

Posted December 23, 2012 2:15 pm

Donaire should not be fighter of the year. There are fighters who deserve it way more than pick the easiest fighter to beat like Donaire and Martinez do

I love Mares & I think he’s more deserving than over-rated Nonito, but Marquez KO Pac cold, man…are you f’n kidding me?.

Posted December 23, 2012 10:41 am

To KTFO a fighter like Pac, in such a brutal fashion, surpassed anything done by any other fighter, by miles…Marquez is the fighter of the year, no doubt.

Posted December 23, 2012 10:38 am

No, Marquez does.

Posted December 23, 2012 10:14 am

If a single quality win throughout the whole year automatically qualifies you to jump others for FOTY, then JMM deserves it. Otherwise, Donaire has put up a decent resume this year and you’d be stupid to think he doesn’t deserve mention for FOTY.

Posted December 23, 2012 7:59 am

Fighter of the year should be Abner Mares, Mares will just miss out on being included only because his win over Agbeko was in December of 2011, from December 2011 to December 2012 Mares beat Joseph Agbeko, Eric Morel an Anselmo Moreno, Donaiare could only wish he fought an beat talent like that.
