no one cares who you picked, boxtradumba ss. LOTS of people picked JMM. i guess they are geniuses too?

Posted December 10, 2012 10:27 pm

Jersey and Koy Brown were complaining about JMM punching power (Cotto and Margarito didn´t hit pacman with some serious stuff so why are they comparing there punching power) and obbieman even said that marquez was the lightest hitter of Morales, Barrera, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito !!! How does he know that, did he meet them and tasted there power ? Also very importent is how your opponent lets himself get hit (Cotto and Margarito wheren´t able to hit pacman as marquez did)!!!!! And you can say whatever you want, but someone who knows boxing only theoretical and didn´t box himself will never have the knowledge and understanding of someone who did the stuff practically, you can´t prove me wrong at this point !!!! Do you know the sentence “if you want do understand something you have to do it” !!!!!

Well Jersey, if he wasn’t juiced then the fight was choreographed. Boxing lately has an aura of the WWF and WWE, mostly entertainment. If I recall correctly, it may have started with DLH vs Hopkins.

boxtra-dumbmest– Is your IQ sufficient enough to allow you to post anything other than a perceived prediction?

Posted December 10, 2012 4:02 pm

Straight…..I don’t think your thinking is on par with your moniker. No one needs to step in the ring to fight to have knowledge of how punches impact a fight. That information has been in circulation for years, studied, restudied and practiced. It’s been written about so its no secret. And so, yes, there are people who can make informed decisions without stepping in the ring. Or do you think the ring is the only place fights take place?

I agree, retire. Fighting any other fighter at 147 (which by the way, he did not fight Pac at) especially Bradley is a losing proposition. However, if he chooses to hedge his bets and stay, I hope he has the brass to fight Broner who will come up very soon. Although my guess is, marquez will be long gone, which would be good for him because karma has a strange way of coming back.

The Kingslayer

Marquez needs to retire !!! There is no better time for him to walk away than right now.

Posted December 10, 2012 1:10 pm

JMM wasn´t a light hitter, actually he was a heavy handed guy!!! I am boxing for 14 years and i know by the movement of a guy if he is punching hard or not!!! Hard punching is a skill, an has a lot to do with your balance and if your full body is behind the punch. On the other hand Pacman has a tremendous chin, you can´t take that away from him and in my upinion marquez was the one who hit him with the hardest punches in his entire career. It´s funny to see how people judge about boxing and boxers and didn´t even put once a gloves on ………

Pacquiao got STOPPED just as I predicted!!!! I am the GREATEST Fight Prophet ever born!!!!!!

They are both good..

The only people that are given there dues to each other is the fighters themselves, wake up everybody else.

Posted December 10, 2012 5:35 am

In reality Pacq brought that KO on himself…..He threw caution to the wind, thinking Marq was open to be taken and paid the price….

I would hold judgment on Marquez until the results of the urine and blood samples are made public! If marquez won nice and clean then, I salute him!Mexicans and Filipinos will admire him! But if he needed to juice up just to beat Pacquiao, then he would go down in history as the most shameful boxer ever!

Posted December 9, 2012 11:44 pm

WOOOOW! marquez is the man and should fight floyd again win lose or draw marquez is in the drivers seat because he always could go back to that pacman fight for a 5th time after making some even bigger money with the cash cow $$$ mayweather.. unbelievable hahaha! marquez you are the maaaann!!!

Posted December 9, 2012 9:12 pm

It was a perfectly timed punch,Marquez clearly saw Pac open himself up and landed it flush and it also helped that Pac ran into it!! Lucky would have been if Marquez threw it without looking! And Marquez wasn’t hurt he was just backing up and using his counterpunching style. That wasn’t lucky buddy it was clear skill by the better fighter!!

Posted December 9, 2012 7:34 pm

I think manny should retire. He might still be able to get some good wins but he has other pursuits now and his health is not worth sacrificing. He is a great guy and a wonderful champion but its time to hang them up in my opinion.

Posted December 9, 2012 6:21 pm

me love u long time

imagine that, a pacquiao fan accusing another fighter of taking steroids hahaha

>>>> read Angels history man this guy is bad news. He a dealer in Peds. Marquezs body looks way different from a year ago. Angel should be banned

Proud African

Manny Pacquiao, the Lance Armstrong of Boxing, has been KTFO.

Posted December 9, 2012 4:53 pm

I take it you know little about boxing or fighting in general, if you run into a punch it DOUBLES the power of the punch!!! on top of that he never saw it….
(running into punch + not seeing it = perfect recipe for K.O.)

Juan sticks the hot stick in him. Full of riod liquid in JMM body for the 40 percent increase in punching power. Congrats Juan for using. You needed it to KO Pac

Posted December 9, 2012 4:45 pm

Pac is a Bakla

keep crying baby’s.

Posted December 9, 2012 4:34 pm

The shoe’s on the other foot in this fight. Pacman, since becoming a re-born Christian, is now off the juice and Marquez is now a user. Just look at the difference in their physiques since their last fight.

Posted December 9, 2012 4:13 pm

Koy Brown

ALL of a sudden Marquez hits harder than Cotto and Margo. AT 39 years of age ! Something is very fishy ???????

Posted December 9, 2012 3:41 pm

peach of a punch

whiners out in full force.

Posted December 9, 2012 3:30 pm

Spectacular fight for both while it lasted and intelligent, tactical win for JM Marquez. Pacquiao is a top-world class fighter who is showing signs of winding down his career — but has everything to be proud of because he lost to another best fighter in the world — I say that to also say that in my estimation both JM Marquez and Pacquiao are the world’s best. My humble estimate is now as follows: a draw for #1; Pacquiao win for #2; draw for #3; and Marquez win for #4. There will always be disagreements about each fight, but that’s what fans are for — to always disagree. PEACE

manny can now be a congressman fulltime , and he cannot be anymore punch drunk than the congressman we have here

Posted December 9, 2012 3:12 pm

Angel heredia is a master at PED knowledge. Juan was juiced. This fight was bogus. HOW CAN JUAN HIT HARDER THAN MARGARITO AND COTTO ????????

Posted December 9, 2012 1:50 pm

What are you high? That was a classic counter punch, both times Manny went down was from the right hand, 1 when he was moving backwards with his hand down (3rd round) and the next jumping in (like he does all the time). I like both fighters and was rooting for a good fight, that is what it was a good fight and a great counter and timing from a counter fighter in Juan…

Posted December 9, 2012 1:30 pm

Juan never had power like that now at 39 yrs old 39 years old come on.

Posted December 9, 2012 1:28 pm

te tumbo

“Dinamita” is hardly the “lightest hitter of the bunch”. learn something about the sport before making ignorant excuses that not even Pacquiao* is making. It’s OVER. get used to it. see you in 50 years.

Posted December 9, 2012 12:25 pm

What a stupid logic, Mayweather beat Marquez and after 3 attempts Marquez beats Pacquiao, that means Mayweather would beat Pacquiao? I guess that logic did not work with Foreman vs Ali after Foreman destroyed Frazier. Maweather avoided Pacquiao fact, people who deny this will listen to anything Mayweather will say he lies and contradicts himself constantly. One thing you cant say about Marquez and Paccquiao is they didn’t avoid anyone. Props to both fighters, what a fight, Pacquiao ahead on scorecard on all three judges, evened it with his own knock down, just one small detail, Pacquiao did trip on Marquez’s foot which lead to the TKO. But this is boxing and anything can happen regardless how good you are.

Posted December 9, 2012 12:16 pm

i didn’t see that punch coming

@ Michael Calingacion even roach said it wasn’t a lucky punch but setup punch even get over it he lost and put to sleep

Posted December 9, 2012 12:00 pm

That’s it!! Now if the world ends on December 21, we got to watch Pac Man destroyed!!!

Posted December 9, 2012 11:27 am

Michael Calingacion

it was just a lucky punch from Marquez, but seeing how the fight goes, marquez is already close to knock out, pacquiao is dominating marquez but unexpectly marquez has thrown one lucky hard punch…

Freddie isn’t teaching his fighters defense! All he is doing is teaching them to brawl the way he did as a pro boxer. Roger Mayweather is the best trainer alive

No excuses, Marquez was the better man last night, one thing left for Manny, try to get a rematch after 6 months and then retire win or lose. same with Marquez, one last fight with Manny and retire. Last fight for both of them will secure both families financially for the rest of their life. Kudos to Marquez!!

Posted December 9, 2012 10:59 am

Oswald Cobblepott

Marquez studied and trained to beat Manny. Manny is just going through the motions these days. Look buddy I was rooted for him but “even Roy Jones has to lean back”!.

Posted December 9, 2012 10:24 am

Yes. God Bless the boxers who risk their lives for this sport. Manny, we always admired you, beyond your outstanding boxing talent, but your extraordinary strong character. All the best to you and your family!

Posted December 9, 2012 10:11 am

Let this be a lesson to EVERYBODY….a life lesson. This is a man(Marquez) who put in a massive amount of time and dedication to the gym. He lived, breathed and probably jerked off to PAC MAN. Anytime anybody puts in that much effort into doing something….nothing but good will come out. This is the exact …and I mean EXACT reason why Mayweather(at 35) is the BEST P4P boxer in the world. Mayweather puts in massive amounts of hard work into his training and it pays off. Manny started to showboat and was not taking training camp very serous (ala Margarito) This is the best thing that could have happened to both Marquez and PacMan. A fifth fight IS necessary and I can assure everyone that PacMan will come hungry!!…I did call a win for Marquez…just didn’t think he would end it so early.. JUST SAYIN’

Good thing you posted anonymously….that way you can never be credited with making the dumbest post ive ever read on esb….and thats saying alot

Glass jaw, stupid. The punch was right on the nose. People.

dianobol rules

Drugs dominate all sports now and to think boxing isnt one of the leaders is silly.

Posted December 9, 2012 9:46 am

I made a knockout prediction Pacquiao by knockout. Marquez won. But number 5 is coming, thank God with don’t need Mayweather.

Posted December 9, 2012 9:41 am

Brilliant fight. Devestating KO. Glad to hear Manny’s ok. Had he fought like he did last November he would have beaten JMM again on points. But he went all out, forcing the fight, which is what made him the fighter of the decade 00-09. Oh well, it’s still 2:1 to Pacquiao:)

Posted December 9, 2012 9:32 am

I don’t know about the glass jaw. He took the best from Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito and didn’t go down. Who would have thought that it was the lightest hitter of the bunch Marquez who would put him away? Marquez found power at the end of his career, how, I don’t know. In Boxing, you either have one punch power or you don’t. His knockouts usually came from wearing down and tiring his opponents. He’s hit Pacquiao with those right hands before and never put him down. The first knockdown surprised me more than the second.

Posted December 9, 2012 9:22 am

in my view – this was the one of the best 6 rounds i have ever seen…the biggest winner here was boxing fans, and there was no really looser.. i don’t care how much credit fighters like Andre Ward and Mayweather get with their technical and defensive wizardry – they matches are always dull and boring because they are so risk adverse… no other fighter in modern boxing history has given so much excitment to boxing fans like Pacman – and he will be sorely missed when he retires…

Lightweight Mike

KO’s happen though even Malignaggi and Otke had scored them, no surprise here.

shaun spensley

i think floyds the idiot. he calls himself money mayweather but dosnt seem to care about the money when it comes to pacquiao

Posted December 9, 2012 9:01 am

Pac man is an idiot. Could have made a killing with FM. Not really worth that much now

Posted December 9, 2012 8:48 am

Stricter drug testing should have been done prior to the fight. Where do you see so much power out of MarPEDs in such a short time? In the first 3 fights he landed nearly the same punches on PAC that stunned PAC but didn’t floor him! Now all of a sudden after training with a known Roids dealer he has all this incredible one shot power to KO a full welterweight?! Everyone is turning a blind eye to PEDs use in MarPEDs camp! Post fight drug testing should be imposed to expose the cheater!

Posted December 9, 2012 8:45 am

Pacman has declined before he was too fast to ever get hit with a clean shot and had his opponents on the back foot and being defensive…he’s shown signs of slowing down and his style means naturally with age you will decline more…he has had a long winning streak and would he have fought Marquez so many times had he promoted himself or been with goldenboy he’s been a victim of also Arum picking in house money fights when he should of fought other fighters….he should move down to 140 as his power will still be there and retire

Posted December 9, 2012 8:31 am

Think god Manny lost and will retire.. Now all the pacturds can go back to watching soccer and jersey shore and UFC crap

Posted December 9, 2012 8:29 am

Pacman was finally shown for the journeyman fighter with a glass jaw that he is…never beat anyone in their prime

Posted December 9, 2012 8:17 am

I wanted JMM to win because he was robbed in previous fights, but Pac showed he is top class with that statement. Top man and good luck to hi. I hope now he does not fight Mayw and does not give him that pay day.

Posted December 9, 2012 8:13 am

Great fight and one hell of timed punch.

Posted December 9, 2012 8:09 am

pacman has gone up in my estimations for his humbleness in defeat.. god bless the boxers who risk their lifes in our sport! like marquez said to pacman after the fight.. manny you ARE one hell of a fighter.. im so happy for marquez to finally get his win and what a victory that was!!
