Daly jr.. Yeah, it was very impressive how calm and composed he was. A million miles away from the approach he’s taken in some of his other fights. That South African was a pretty tough dude too but Golovkin just blew him away like he was nothing.

Olivarez could bang. I beleive Julian Jackson to be the biggest puncher ever at middleweight. But today, i think Golovkin is the man at MW. I think after Proksa, he should try to get a unification bout with Sturm, then go after martinez or Chaves jr eventualy

Yeah, that’s going to be be a good one, I think Golovkin’s going to stop him though.

Why the hell did my post get deleted? Is it because I posted a Youtube link, or is someone playing games?

Gonzo The Dragonborn

Yeah, I agree with that bro. Let’s hope he can put that into practice. He definitely has the ability to do so. You should check out his fight against Tshepo Mashego on Youtube if you haven’t seen it.. he’s very relaxed and unhurried in that one. For the first few minutes he just sizes his opponent up, slipping and blocking his shots on his arms, but as soon as he spots an opening he lowers the boom in swift and clinical fashion.

oops i meant most eye catching …. i only learnt to read yesterday :)

I like the best to date bit.. curious and just putting it out there but what are the top 5 KOs you have seen? not heard of, but seen. for me its
1) Tszyu KO of Judah (the chicken dance sold it for me :)
2) Tyson KO of Spinks
3) Pac KO of Hatton
4) Martinez KO of Williams
5) Hopkins KO body shot on Golden Boy

Wlad has become unbeatable as as of late and I am seeing his style change!! He is looking for early KO’s now! We will soon see the Wladimir that we all know is capable of crushing power and quick dominating finishes. He now has the confidence back that he lost about 6 years ago. Wlad will overshadow his brother very soon and we will see the best the HW has ever seen. Lennox Lewis will be a second fiddle to Wlad’s legacy when it’s all said and done!!

Posted August 13, 2012 9:11 pm

Actually yes, I can argue with that. How many HW’s has he KO’d? A washed up John Ruiz and a washed up Monte Barrett? A never was 15-3 Chisora? Yes I can argue with that. Haye isn’t big enough to compete at HW elite and Wlad showed him that. I like Haye but he is a small man who should have stuck to his weight division if he wanted to be elite. He has no significant place at HW.

Posted August 13, 2012 9:04 pm

Thew way Froch lost his fights were awesome too!! hahaha

Posted August 13, 2012 8:59 pm

Listen, if Emanuel Steward says Wlad has the hardest punch…..then Wlad has the hardest punch. You’re right, his KO percentage speaks for itself!!

Gonzo The Dragonborn

I think he could KO most super-middleweights too. One criticism I do have of him is that he seems to have fallen in love with his power a bit too much and is neglecting his boxing skills. I hope he reels that in a little and takes a more balanced approach. If so, he’ll dominate the division IMO.

Posted August 13, 2012 4:38 pm

Yeh he always looks the smaller man in the ring. I think he could KO anyone at MW. I think he wouldnt be too hard to out box though. Hes another 1 who struggles against movers, but when he eventualy lands it lights out

Correction : ” right mind ” .

Wlad Klitchko ,51 K.O.s, at TRUE heawy weight ; who
in his right can argue with that ?

Posted August 13, 2012 11:39 am

If all divisions were included then Alverez & Froch would deffinatly be on the list. The way Froch put Bute away was awesom!

Agreed david Haye should be up there. massive KO percentage especially for his size. started as a LH and his power has travelled up to HW, you can’t really argue with that!

You can argue that at 210 lbs haye is the hardest puncher p4p in boxing. At cw i rated him as such. Punch for punch at 245lbs i beleive Wlad hits harder than Haye. So David’s power is overshadowed because of it. Also worth mentioning is i think boxing is running short of true punchers latey. When HBO is cheerleading Keith Thurman as some sorta one punch Ko artist like he is the next Tommy Hearns, you know we are strarved for a true puncher. I do not really see any the like of what we have had lately like Tszyu, gatti, Mayorga, corrales, Frietas, trinidad, even Oscar de la hoya at 135-140. It’s been awhile since i have even seen a true 10 second count knockout. Remember when we used to see them every week?

Posted August 13, 2012 2:21 am

Haye should make the list. He is a very powerful puncher given that he took out Derek Chisora, a guy who Robert Helenius and Vitali Klitschko couldn’t even shake. Chisora outweighed Haye by 37 pounds but was badly outsped and overpowered. Chisora had never been down and was said to have a great chin. Audley Harrison is not tough, but he’s a huge man and Olympic Champion. He has never cowered before another heavyweight other than Haye. Wladimir commented on Haye’s punching power, “He’s a very dangerous puncher and very fast. I took some very good hits from Haye. The difference is 10 years of added experience and my boxing skills, knowledge, temperament, and endurance are vastly improved from when I first fought Sanders and Brewster.”

Posted August 13, 2012 1:48 am

Wladimir Klitschko is the better man!

Posted August 13, 2012 12:51 am

Ya, maybe pound for pound. But Klit def hits harder.

Posted August 12, 2012 10:55 pm

Icing his toe.

Posted August 12, 2012 10:53 pm

hard pressed? Nothing against haye but theres a certain wladimir klitschko int he same division genius.

Yeah, Golovkin has dynamite in his gloves. He’s not big middleweight either. He could easily make 154, and I suspect he could probably even boil down to 147 and then rehydrate back up to 160 after the weigh in if he really wanted to. Victor Ortiz is a welterweight and he weighs more than Golovkin does come fight night.

Posted August 12, 2012 10:49 pm

Where is David Haye? Where is Saul Alvarez? You really think these 2 should not be the top 10 hardest punchers?

Posted August 12, 2012 10:41 pm

Kevin Mitchell? Really? Is this the same massive puncher that Katsidis walked through only to annihilate him with his own KO?

Posted August 12, 2012 8:14 pm

you’d be hard pressed to find a more dangerous one punch KO artist than david haye. Watch his youtube highlights from cruiser weight, smashed EVERYONE. 90% KO RATE.

Posted August 12, 2012 6:19 pm

Here’s where I disagree:
LHW: MIkkel Kessler (34)
MW: Julio Cesar Chavez, Jr. (32)
WW: Manny Pacquiao (38)
LW: Kevin Mitchell (24)
FthW: Johnny Gonzalez (45)
BW: Vic Darchinyan (27)
FlyW: Pongsaklek Wonjongkam (45)

Ponce de leon, Juan ma Lopez, Vic Darchinyan, Kelly Pavlik, Raf Marquez, these guys are all hardcore bangers.

Hello juama Lopez not even getting a mention? He has wiped everyone out except the hardcore Salido. Ponce de leon koed very early plus Butista koed plus alot of other good fighters.

Posted August 12, 2012 5:11 pm

Pavlik is the biggest true puncher by a mile over Martinez. When they fought SM was the one afraid of the others power. SM was letting smaller guys go 12 like Cintron who KP would have made quit in the 1st round.

Good list. Lemiex is definitely not a harder puncher than sergio. Not even close. Golovkin may be a harder puncher but he was probably left off the list because he has not fought on HBO or showtime yet and is still unknown against top competition despite having a belt. Sergio is also a harder p4p puncher because he is actually a 154lber as is Manny pacquiao only a true 140lber. Bailey is big wuss but he has serious power. Gamboa is a much harder puncher than Donaire. Donaires power is at 115-118 where he had a huge size advantage over eveyone he fought.

What is up Donald SAYS Wlad Klistchko ko Percentage 82% despite the cautious style enough said

Posted August 12, 2012 2:15 pm

You picked Sergio at Middleweight? I’m a massive Sergio fan, but he is not really a knockout artist. Lemieux and Golovkin are both much heavier handed than Martinez.

Also, Randall Bailey’s best knockout was of Gato Figueroa.

George Groves hits like Kango when he get’s tagged!

Posted August 12, 2012 12:55 pm

Wlad? an “all-out aggression minded banger”? Not in this lifetime.

Posted August 12, 2012 12:53 pm

Spot on. Hes won every fight in the last 4 years by KO/TKO. 9 FIGHTS!!!! Oposition can be questioned, but the manor of victory has to be applauded

The only guy worth mentioning who has been KOd by Abraham is a blown up, over the hill Jermaine Taylor. He has failed miserably at the top level. As for Nonito………. Yes he has a few PROPER KOs, but his power seems to have gone down the drain.

Posted August 12, 2012 12:24 pm

What about Abraham? Abraham hits as hard as Golovkin if not harder. What about Donaire? Donaire has been knocking people out cold.

What about cw ?

Gennady Golovkin is clearly the hardest puncher at 160lbs.
