The only chance to win that Chavez Jr. has is his body punching and light heavyweight edge. Martinez has the skills and can handle pressure otherwise and will win this fight if he can neutralize Chavez Jr.’s body punching. If Martinez fights smart instead of giving in to brawling which Chavez Jr. will do his best to bring it on full heat after about two rounds, then Martinez will win on points. I don’t predict either one TKO the other.

Chavez vs lee come on everything was in his favor the ring was made as small as possible…beening a huge benefit for Jr. My biggest fear is Roach and arum will start crying trying to swing everything to Jr’s favor…just like every one of paquious fights….hope Martinez’s camp holds its ground and wont give in to there every demand.

This will be his first real fight. What does that mean?
And when has Chavez Jr been cut or cut easily? Pavlik faded when he got cut and could no longer see Martinez’s left coming.

Margarito tko’d Martinez, Chavez will do it even more brutally. Martinez is a sophisticated boxer/puncher, but he doesn’t do well against pressure fighters. Chavez has too much size, power and grit. Martinez won’t see the 12th rd in this one.

te tumbo

people can dump on Jr’s. previous opponents all they want but Chavez Jr. is also no mentally-fragile Cintron, overrated Williams, or deteriorated Pavlik who are the most prominent names on Martinez’s ring-resume, losses included. nonetheless, it was impressive enough of a streak for Martinez to assume the top spot at 160lbs but (IMO) Jr’s. gonna stretch him to the 12-round limit and if Martinez has any vulnerability, it’s exchanging from the opening to the closing bell. Jr’s. seamless application of a body attack is gonna be the game-changing factor in this matchup and the closer we get to September, the more and more i like Jr’s. chances to score the upset. Jr. is coming and bodypunching Hell is coming with him.

I understand why Top Rank held Chavez back from stepping in the ring with Martinez too soon…..he was NOT ready for someone like Martinez. But I feel they held him back from progressing into the man who can soundly beat someone like Martinez, he still has a good chance (due to his physical strength), but as far as “technique” and overall boxing “skill”, I don’t think he’s there, YET. But we’ll soon find out. I’m glad this fight is going down and congrats on making it to the BIG stage (24/7), I’m pumped!

im mexican, and i dont see Chavez winning this one.. This will be his first real fight, regardless of what anybody says. Andy Lee is a good fighter, but he is no Sergio Martinez. I see martinez disposing of chavez like he did to Pavlik. chavez is too slow, he might be strong, but he gets cut easily, and im sure martinez will wear him down. no excuses this time Roach!

Finally some new people on 24/7 for once! How many times can we see the same crap with Pacquiao over and over.

Give the kid credit. Chavez jr never had amateur fights. I can’t imagine myself fighting pro without a single amateur fight against guys that have had some amateur background. The kid is not like his dad but he is a hard worker. I give Chavez jr credit for that.

Sorry ….I just can’t get too h about Chavez Jr…..I’m always reminded about the shortest book ever written….HOW TO MAKE IT ON YOUR OWN….by NANCY SINATRA….

I kinda get the same drift with Chavez Jr….his dad fought about six thousand fights…..junior……not so much
