Floyd Mayweather is on the way out. Maidana beat him around the ring like a rag doll, and the signs of age clearly showed (Unlike Ped Man Marquez whom uses the rejuvenating Hereida Mix). His timing was gone. He looked much slower. His defense was shattered. Floyd Mayweather showed us why he wanted no part of the Legendary Manny Pacquiao. Now Mayweather and his dummies are trying to get in those last 3 fights, and if those fights happen in Las Vegas he has little chance of losing unless he fights the legendary Manny Pacquiao whom would take the judges out of the equation by stopping Floyd Mayweather. Other possible opponents like Khan, Garcia and Thurman even in Floyd’s decline wouldn’t beat him. Khan fights like an amateur and keeps his head up in the air too much. His chin as we all know is made of glass. Thurman has a punchers chance and that’s all. He’s been given way too much credit for doing nothing. He has fought no one. He continually gets rocked by any solid punch, and he has basic boxing skills. I am not impressed by Thurman at all. There are only two fighters out there that will beat Mayweather decisively. Shawn Porter because of his youth speed, power, stamina and most importantly his experience training with the greatest fighter of all time, Manny Pacquiao. Porter is the real deal. I see a unanimous one sided beating in this fight with Porter making Floyd Maywether look old as terry Norris did to Sugar Ray Robinson. The other fighter that would obviously beat Floyd is none other than the only 8 division boxing champion in history, Manny Pacquiao. At age 35 Manny Pacquiao is still regarded by most boxing observers as the greatest fighter of all time. He is the fighter that has a style that can’t be beaten on a one fight basis. Manny’s return to glory was incredible to see as he destroyed a young, strong Brandon Rios, a former champion. His classic and memorable boxing exhibition will be hailed for centuries. Manny then followed that colossal victory by dominating a young, strong, unbeaten Timothy Bradley. Floyd Mayweather’s career will be marred by his fear of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Floyd’s career will be remembered more by what he failed to do and not what he did. No one can ever say Manny Pacquiao ducked or avoided anyone. This is the main reason he is so loved, respected, honored, admired, cherished and adored. A fighter in the true sense of the word. The question remains, will Floyd Mayweather ever fight Manny Pacquiao? I highly doubt it. And this is why no matter who Floyd fights next, the fans will have no interest. The miserable PPV numbers in the Maidana fight clearly show Floyd’s decline even more so out of the ring because unless there is a name with a big fan base, Floyd Mayweather doesn’t draw, which leads to the obvious when it comes to taking money between these two if the fight were to ever happen. Manny Pacquiao should take no less than 70% and Floyd should take 30%. I’ve been telling anyone that would listen that Manny far out draws all boxers world wide. Yes, there are millions of fans around the globe that can”t afford the telecast and never are accounted for. Let’s take Floyd to Macau China and see what he draws. Fans must understand Manny popularity world wide. Congressman, future President, Actor, Singer, Model, Only 8 Division Boxing Champion in boxing history, clothing designer, Bible Study Teacher and so much more. Manny Pacquiao has been the front page picture of boxing for over 10 years. He has brought families together and has elevated boxing to a level never seen before. Manny Pacquiao is very different than fighters like Mayweather and Marquez both of whom have lost respectability in the fans eyes. Both are fearful of fighting Manny Pacquiao. Floyd is simply plain scared for his health and Marquez isn’t confident that he can get Angel Hereida to put together the right nutritional mix and get away with it. Manny Pacquiao stands head and shoulders above them both. A legend that needs no introduction. Trust me, boxing will never be the same once Manny Pacquiao retires. This man carried his country and the sport of boxing on his shoulders. Manny is the best!

“I recall a severely battered marquez on his way to losing”. you recall Wrong. Marquez was behind by a single point. thanks to Pacquiao* stepping on his foot to score the lucky flash-KD in the 5th round. if Marquez had only scored another KD in round 6, he would’ve moved ahead with momentum on his side. instead he LEVELED Pacquiao* in decisive and unequivocal fashion to end their rivalry once-and-for-all. resulting in a 1-year hiatus for the Arizaless Manny* who must now accept that KOing Marquez is no longer a wise fight-plan.

Posted May 19, 2014 7:13 pm

Some fools here erroneously believe marquez was winning his last fight with Pac. I recall a severely battered marquez on his way to losing. He certainly was not winning the fight, not by a long shot, and so, as it is with lightening, a hail mary saved marquez which would have been a career ending fight for him.

Gentlemen, Ped Man Marquez is simply a tarnished fighter that continues to ridicule the sport of boxing. Angel Hereida, the muscle bound physique, the newly found power, the tantrums he has with Hereida, the back and forth I’ll never fight Manny, I will fight Manny, the acne and the simple fact that fighters don’t continue to have these things as they advance in age. Why do you think Jones, Toney, Mosely and other top fighters made the choice to use Peds. Ped Man Marquez is a tarnished man and everyone knows it. People are not dumb. This is another ego maniac that can’t come to terms with this declining physical tools. I recall watching this guy before he fought Manny Pacquiao the forth time, and he looked like an old beaten up man getting ready to retire after he beat a Russian fighter in Mexico. He was done. And since that fight as he got together with Hereida, everything has changed. Ped Man Marquez will eventually be exposed as I’ve said, but it will be difficult. Just go ahead and read what Hereida had to say about how he masks things, and I mean all things. Hereida went from a PED Supplier to the USA Olympic Track and Field team, to SNITCH so that he could receive anonymity, and finally he weaseled his way to the boxing world. And who else other than a man that was losing it all, and wanted to regain this youth by any means. Juan Manuel “Ped Man” Marquez sold his soul to the devil. And he took the opportunity to fight without having any testing done and selected a perfect fighter to face. He picked a much bigger, slower, one dimensional, on the way out Mike Alvarado to make himself look good. He wanted the boxing fans to be fascinated by watching him take on a much bigger man. Sorry Ped Man, you are not the fighter and person I met years ago, but as we all know, all things eventually come to light.

PUGFAN, i Do believe that Marquez is 4-0 v. Manny*. unfortunately, Arum’s promotional clout has heavily influenced the scorecards and negotiations during which purse-split, ring-size, glove-size, and location have favored Pacquiao*. nonetheless, even with the playing-field tilted in Manny’s* favor, only Marquez has convincingly and decisively defeated Pacquiao*.

Posted May 19, 2014 4:29 pm

then why isn’t Marquez 4 and 0 against Paquiao? unless you believe the playing field was not even?

Heredia is the perfect match for Marquez’s intense dedication to training, conditioning, and preparation for his bouts. even Ariza commended Heredia and Marquez for adopting and adhering to the same type of conditioning program that he previously used to prepare Pacquiao* for his biggest bouts. now Marquez is getting the maximum benefit from this state-of-the-art nutrition and conditioning program. on a level playing-field, Pacquiao* will always be at a notable disadvantage v. Marquez.

Marquez looked awesome…
Any complaints of him using PEDs are pure BS.
If you’re going to accuse him of using them, then you have to paint Pacquiao with the same brush.
There’s the exact same amount of proof for Marquez using PEDs that there is for Pacquiao using PEDs… ZERO. NONE. NADDA. NIL. ZIP. ZILCH.
Both these guys have only ever engaged in random testing once each… and that was last year. Marquez-v-Bradley and Pacquiao-v-Rios both had random testing conducted by the VADA, after that they both went back to regular commision-run dope testing.
I hope my boy Pac thinks twice before getting back in with Marquez, because he is getting hit alot more these days(in particular by the right hand), and Marquez showed the complete package saturday night. His legs looked alot sturdier than they have in a long time(since his days as undisputed 135 pound champion).
I also don’t think Freddie Roach moving Pacquiao back down to 140 will do any good, because Marquez can still easily make that weight, where as it may be a bit of a strain on Pacquiao to get there.

Alvarado makes JMM look like ‘Superman’……

Posted May 18, 2014 11:41 pm

People throwing around allegations a lot these days. How about all that are doing so, start to agree then that the one fighter that demanded additional testing was on the right track to be suspicious of the current scene. And he was right all along to question other fighters of doing so. And, lastly, additional testing is needed. If it is event testing or what they should really all be doing, Year Round, Random testing. That is, if they all agree that everything should be on a level playing field and that PED should not be a part of the sport.

Posted May 18, 2014 10:50 pm

Marquez sure had acne all over his chest. Hmm…..I wonder where that came from?????

Posted May 18, 2014 10:41 pm

Ped Man Marquez as we all know used his infamous strength and conditioning coach to help him with the nutritional mix, and the HBO commentators were in awe of his power, HMM…..How funny that is that no one is questioning a 40 year old man that is physically declining coming up with this new power. Wake up people how many times do I have to point out this guy’s secret to his rejuvenated power. Wake up and smell the coffee. There was no testing for the fight. Angel Hereida, the PED supplier to the USA Olympic track and Field Team is on tape saying he could mask ANYTHING. Pay attention to Ped Man’s back and forth “I will fight Manny, no I won’t fight Manny” The guy is in sad shape. First he says he will never fight Manny again. He then says he might fight Manny again. He goes back and forth Classic brain damage due to the repeated hits to the head. He’s been knocked down in his last 5 fights. The special nutritional mix Hereida has him on is only doing more damage to him. Remember his temper tantrums with Hereida while working out with the medicine ball? Come on people, have you seen this guy during the last two years. The last few times I saw him train live told me all I needed to know. This man has many people fooled, but one day soon, he will be exposed. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand is an incredible athlete. Watch his movie “MANNY” and you’ll see he was born a puncher. Same build, no changes and same power. Duran was the same way. Both true punchers that are born. Tyson and Julian Jackson were the same. Marquez on the other hand has had help without a doubt. What kind of help you ask. If it looks like a duck, acts like a duck and quacks like a duck. It’s a duck. And as far as Manny Pacquiao and his fear of needles goes, that’s very normal to hear. Please people, I hate needles myself and I have to be practically restrained for me to get a flu shot. There is such a thing as people being afraid of needles as there is people being afraid to fly or afraid of heights. Manny Pacquiao is a legend that is an honorable man that would never cheat. A man of God setting the example for everyone. A man that has never failed a test. And a man that did not hire Angel Hereida then lied to the media about it. Now that’s a guy you never trust.

Hecdog-JMM looked better against alvarado than pedquiao did against. Brandon rios. And anyone since he had been off the juice really

Posted May 18, 2014 7:51 pm

Juan Manuel Marquez other know as “Ped Man” looked awful last night. He gets hit with everything. He leads with his head, and his feet are awful. And please Ped Man fans don’t try and say that this win was something special because it wasn’t. We all knew Mike Alvarado was made to order for Marquez. Mike Alvarado is a super nice young man, but he is also a fighter that has never had any defense, has slow hands and feet, has been taking lots of punishment in his last 3 fights versus Rios and Provodnikov. A human body can only take so much punishment before it begins to wither away. I hope you guys can notice Alvarado’s slow speech. He is a tough fighter tha really needs to retire, and last night proved it. Even so, Ped Man Marquez was dropped once and on the way to another before the bell rang. Ped Man Marquez had his moments only because Alvarado is as slow as molasses. Please don’t try and paint a picture like the HBO guys did. This fight was more about Alvarado’s decline than anything Marquez did and that’s the truth. The most humiliating and embarrassing moment last night was Marquez avoiding at all costs the commitment to fight Manny Pacquiao a 5th time. He simply doesn’t want it. The man wants to cradle the tarnished victory over Manny instead of doing the right thing any real fighter would do which is to grant Manny Pacquiao a rematch. Fear echoed throughout the tv sets as Marquez wanted nothing to do with giving Manny another fight. This is a man that knows he couldn’t beat the legendary Manny Pacquiao again because Freddie has already said he would have testing 24 hrs a day around the clock. Marquez and Hereida are fully aware that this time around they will be monitored every step of the way, and they will not take a chance. A true sign of a coward just as Floyd Mayweather has also shown. Ped Man Marquez may have won the fight last night, but his interview lost him the war. Let’s see Marquez fight Provodnikov. Oh yeah, he declined to fight him several times. Manny Pacquiao ran from no one. He gave Ped Man Marquez 4 fights. Ped Man Marquez is tarnished forever. He told the world last night that he wants to live on his last victory over Manny Pacquiao and would rather not give Manny Pacquiao another fight. Ped Man Marquez needs to retire for good now. He has given into the nightmares and fear of facing the greatest fighter of all time, Manny Pacquiao ever again.

The losses Jones has now absolutely does not effect his prime years. Jones has already made his mark. His losses now mean nothing.
Posted May 18, 2014 12:44 pm

Sadly, they have hurt his legacy as some seem to think Jones always had a suspect chin despite getting hit clean on occasion with solid punchers and despite what we’ve seen with other fighters who have done the same with playing with weight how it effected their ability to take a punch when hit clean. Chris Byrd drop in his inability to take a punch when he moved down to LH from HW was just mind-boggling and it served as enough proof enough that when your body is depleted, unhealthy, you are not in condition to take a punch.

Pacquiao would be more at a disadvantage against this new Marquez who at a higher weight at at his age seemed to have a stronger KO Power while Pacquiao’s KO power in higher division seemed to have diminished and lost its pop.

Remind me, what weight division did Pac win his first title?

And what weight division did Pac batter Miguel Cotto in?

Amuse me.

Not to you Peej, but the boxing historical viewpoint now includes tens of millions of boxing fans who write and interact online. Roy Jones is still thought of a pathetic delusional fighter that image is heavily etched. What most people think of first when they think of him. Him being Ko’d by Tarver, or his one punch KO of Virgil Hill?

Ham agreed. JMM is def elite, which is remarkable at his age and his style of fighting, but there are also plenty of theories and rumors as to why that may be. Based on his physical appearance, i dont think what weve seen from marquez in recent years are the results of just hard work and clean living.

El Chapo, yea Alvarado sucks that’s for sure. But Marquez still looked in outstanding form. That was undeniable. Some truth goes into a hand picked opponent though. Manny Pacquiao also looked pretty sharp against Brandon Rios. Perhaps older fighters need those gimme’s once in awhile to remind people how good they are.

Posted May 18, 2014 12:33 pm

My guess is Pacquiao will fight till the big paydays run out and he will suffer some humilating losses like Roy Jones did. People like to say that losing past your prime does not affect your legacy but that is not true at all. Had Roy Jones retired after the John Ruiz fight, or even the first Tarver fight, he would be much much higher regarded than he is now. He gave his haters every bit of ammunition needed to tarnish his legacy. Imagine had Joe Calzaghe kept fighting past prime and lost to Froch and Ward how people would rip him? You would never hear the end of it how overrated he was. This is a fairly new phenomenom created during the birth of the internet. I would say the last fighter to fight well past his prime but not tarnish he legacy is Evander Holyfield. Another recent retiree that took a big hit was Oscar De la Hoya. I think a 1996-2001 era ODH would beat any version of floyd Mayweather at 135-147, Internet history has rewritten that possibility though due to poor performances late in his career.

Not surprised at the outcome. Alvarado has terrible balance, zero ring IQ, bad defence, descent power, good jab, terrible footwork and slow as molasses. Hes a likeable guy and i wish him a happy and immediate retirement. JMM did what he was supposed to do.

I would pick Marquez over pacquiao at this time. Just like i would pick Tommy hears over sugar ray leonard if they fought in 87,88,89 and i would also have picked Roy Jones over Bernard Hopkins had they rematched anytime during the 90’s or up to about 2002. I think Manny should pack it in, he is imo slow and no longer hits as hard as he once did. And he looks tired in the ring. Marquez retained his reflexes and speed and power through 12 rounds. Manny looked like he was in an exhausting war since the middle rounds vs Bradley. Leave the Marquez fights at 4, don’t ruin the classic rivalry by taking the 5th fight clearly for money ( a fight Marquez does’nt even really want either). I’m a long time pacquiao fan but i think he is clearly being cheerled by Kellerman and Lampley and people saying he “beat the #3 P4P guy handily”. I thought he looked like crap against Bradley both times.

Great performance from Marquez but I fear for Alvarado if he wants to keep taking on the best, he takes far too many shots. Alvarado and Rios are both going to have to seriously consider where their careers are going because if they keep going how they are they are both heading for serious health issues. Not sure if it’s possible for either guy to make light welter but if they can it’s something they should be looking at.

Postol looked good v. a conspicuously one-dimensional Aydin who disregarded his own corner’s instructions to throw more than one punch at a time. although, when he scored, the effects were immediate. Postol’s ready for theh likes of Soto-Karass. that’s the kind of test i need to see him handle before declaring him anything more than a prospect.

last night’s version of Marquez convincingly outscores the version of Pacquiao* that fought Bradley. that is, if Marquez doesn’t simply punch “Napman’s*” lights completely out once again. ultimately, Alvarado didn’t have the skills or ring-smarts to effectively impose his size advantage, which may have something to do with the potency of “Dinamita’s” punches on the inside. conversely, Marquez once again displayed his willingness to exchange with only a secondary regard for defense that make him vulnerable to power-counter shots and KDs. a harder and more skilled puncher will make those KDs stick. nonetheless, another impressive “W” for Marquez the Greater. he’s got plenty of elite-caliber fighting left in him.

Posted May 18, 2014 10:07 am

I think it’s a poor comparison to compare Bradley with Alvarado. Bradley is on a much more elite level than Alvarado. Of course Marquez would look good against Alvarado!

I hope my boy Manny avoids Marquez… Dinamita wound back the clock tonight, and looked very speedy and fluid.
His footwork looked better than it had in a long time, and he was using combinations. Alvarado literally looked lost at sea, which is a very hard task to do as he is no slouch.
