PEEJophile, you can’t really hit a runner like Floyd. He has no offense in the ring. Outside of the ring he has, a lot. Especially against women. Teach Usain Bolt how to slap a boxer and he will give your boss Floyd a run for his money in the ring.Posted May 3, 2014 11:29 am
Packs defense is attack and withdraw continuously at odd angles. At his peak it was the most exciting thing to behold in boxing. The excitement can be relived on YouTube in case anyone forgot what a phenom he was. As he is slowing down he’s easier to hit. But he was the fighter of the previous decade, something flatulent floyd could never achieve. He fought like a man willing to lose. That is bravery. I won’t say anything else abt fleet of foot floyd and his merry weather dance technique that cured my insomnia.Posted May 2, 2014 11:35 pm
Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)
In a recent interview, FMJ said that he’ll have three more fights after Maidana then retire. Question is will he choose cake-walk fights like Khan, Alexander, Bradley, Broner, Molina (if he wins) and take the road of least resistance?
Or will he give fans what we really want and deserve to see by facing the best competition in the world (e.g., PacMan, 3G, Lara, Garcia, etc.)???Posted May 2, 2014 11:00 pm

Well you’d better go take you a SENSING class. Floyd is TOTALLY confident and can’t WAIT to let his frustrations out on Maidana’s body and FACE. I have SAID it all along and I say it once again. Floyd by Argentinean AGONIZING late stoppage.Posted May 2, 2014 7:05 pm
I sense some insecurity in Floyd Mayweather. Something seems a bit off, and his tirade with one of his guys on stage seemed a bit off. Maidana is very calm and confident and realistic. He knows how difficult the task will be, and I think he’s going to give it a great effort. Maidana has to do the following to have even a remote chance of winning: He must apply pressure for 12 rounds. He can’t give Mayweather any distance or he’s going to get picked apart. Maidana doesn’t have a bad jab or guard, so he has to use that jab and feint it as to not get countered. He must move his head and come forward in his awkward style of fighting. He has to throw punches from all angles, and needs to be careful in close every time he throws the right hook because Mayweather will counter all night with the right uppercut. Maidana has to make this a street brawl and has to be in shape to go the distance. If he tires out after 7 rounds, he’s going to be in trouble. The overhand right Maidana likes to throw has to be followed by the left hand always. Mayweather has to be aware of punches coming at him from all angles, and they have to be hard. Body, head arms, hip every place he can hit. Floyd Mayweather doesn’t like to fight a mano y mano type fight, and Maidana has to make him do this. Keep that distance close otherwise Mayweather will run and run and run. He will tap you then run. Maidana has to believe that he can do this because the entire arena will be on his side. Floyd is a mental wreck right now, and all the stuff he’s brought upon himself may just be enough to rattle him inside the ring. I’m pulling for Maidana to pull off this upset, but my prediction is Mayweather stops Maidana in the 10th or 11th round. A great effort by Maidana, but his pressure type style will tire him out and he will take too many punches before the stoppage. I truly hope I’m wrong.Posted May 2, 2014 6:41 pm

Demonyo you know nothing if you think Floyd has no offense. Not only does he landed the majority of his punches but he also out lands his opponents. And if he didn’t have any offense then how come nobody can beat him or walk through his weak punches? You have no knowledge dudePosted May 2, 2014 4:06 pm
Floyd is fighting left over of Devon Alexander and Amir Khan in Maidana. The last time Floyd fought left over of Pacman when he beat Cotto but look up his face he was bloodied.Posted May 2, 2014 1:03 pm
Keep on dreaming Maidana, how can you beat Floyd by KO or decision you have no hand and footwork to land your heavy punches. As I always saying this is one sided affair in favor of Floyd. I will not buy this in PPV, just waiting result in news I won’t be surprise in Floy wins easily or KO this guy. So why wasting $70 bucks? Mayweather has no offense the reason he barely hits his opponent who has footwork and handspeed. He shines against limited plodders like Canelo, Ortiz and Guerrero. Of course the worst version of the three is Maidana who is just a punching bag that grew arms and legs. Mayweather is not a fighter. He is a dodge ball player that’s why he looks soooo boring in boxing.Posted May 2, 2014 11:29 am
I’m not comparing Maidana and Pacs defense. I am merely saying Pac has no defense either. You are trying to say this fight is garbage cause Maidana has no defense. I am telling your clueless self that Pac really has no defense either. His defense is bouncing back and forth. That doesn’t always work as you can see he is always taking a beating in every fight unless the fight ends early or is fighting someone extremely slow in RiosPosted May 2, 2014 9:30 am

Fight Aficionado says.., “Floyd claimed he trades more and runs less vs 5 years ago to entertain fans. Nonsense, it’s because he can’t run all 12 rounds anymore.”
Floyd could run a marathon if he wanted to… but he’s a much better infighter now and has more physical strength than when he was 25 or 30.. Therefore he goes inside and mixes it up a lot more.. He doesn’t do it to take more risks, he just has a lot more skill inside now.
It doesn’t always work.. Cotto tagged Floyd up a record amount.. and he might find a couple issues with Maidana.. MM can mix — but I think Floyd thinks he’s bigger and stronger than Maidana because he can hang with Canelo and guys like that. Maidana could never do that.
Maidana has a unique punch.. An arching chopping right that rips down the side of your head when he turns it over.. It works well on the shoulder roll and got Broner.

If the Maidana who showed up vs Broner is there on Saturday he’s a live underdog at 10/1. Floyd’s legs are going, so he’s not on his toes as much as he was a few years ago. Nonsense, it’s because he can’t run all 12 rounds anymore.Posted May 1, 2014 6:57 pm
Maidanas record is highly good. Chino was able to hit all of his opponents, including broner. To me maidana doesn’t look that slow. People are giving Floyd props for his timing, reflexes, speed, accuracy, and defense. A lot of fighters you put in there with floyd, his defense makes them look amature. You will have to be just as fast as floyd with good boxing smarts to beat him. Porter is ok, he has some heart, but a little wild to me. Thurmans chin is suspect to me. He has power and movement but not the techs. He reminds me of Martinez. Will catch you snoozing. Maidana and Floyd will be a good fight Saturday. And the rest. Those fighters trained hard, and preparation is a motha. Fighting in front of millions around the world. I’m a fight fan, and I will always prepare myself to pay and enjoy all talents.Posted May 1, 2014 6:45 pm
Gentlemen, some guys don’t know MUCH about business. Ticket sales are not the factor. Gross revenue and net profit are the factors. As of right now the gate revenue for the Fight is the 4th highest of ALL times!! WOW!! It just show that people are willing to pay premium price for the BEST. In comparison Manny’s last Fight had a gate revenue of a little over $8 million vs Floyd’s $15 million for this Fight as of right now. There are still quite a few hours to GO SO that number may become even HIGHER. All HAIL to the King of Athletics!!Posted May 1, 2014 6:26 pm

Gentlemen, fans have tired of Mayweather. Just look at the ticket sales right now. They are bad. This is another predictable win against a very nice guy (Maidana) that posses no real challenge, and smart boxing fans know this. Forget all the talk about how tough Maidana is, all fighters are tough. Maidana just doesn’t have any real boxing abilities. He can punch and take a punch, but this will be a blow out like Seattle did to Denver. Do not pay your hard earned money to see this fight card/ This card belongs on regular show Time, HBO or ESPN. Go to a sports bar or a casino if you have to see the fight because your a boxing fan. I am too, but I’m going down to the sports bar and watch this card fall apart. Here’s my picks: Mayweather wins easy decision or maybe a late round stoppage over Maidana. Khan/Collazo is a toss up, but I will go with Khan to win a decision, and Broner to win by stoppage. I hope I’m wrong om all three.Posted May 1, 2014 4:42 pm
Peej, there is no basis for opinion in facts, and that’s what your doing.
Michael bent had a title aswell.
Maidana has no defence, all he has is a sloppy offence, and floyds great defence netrulizes maidana s only strong suit.
Just making the silly statement that I know “nothing” about boxing is so far overreacting that its evident you have a big problem with “exaggerate”.
Maidana is tuff and can come forward throwing bombs all night and will eat counters all night long and be to embarrassed to let his hands go after a while.
For a brawler to beat floyd at his own game is next to impossible for the current crop.
Maidana s only chance is to repeat what he did to broner, while eating 10 times more punches and missing 10 times more.
Now with that said, only you will disagree with facts.Posted May 1, 2014 4:37 pm

Eric really has no clue about boxing. Floyd is cherry picking a titlest huh. Hard to do. Considering Maidana has won 4 straight at welter against pretty decent comp. Has a title. Thurmal I don’t agree with your take on Paulie. I like Paulie a lot, one of my favorite fighters. I think he got the most out of his skills for someone not having much power and brittle hands. Never ran from a challenge, fought some fighters that will be in the Hall of Fame. But as for Porter, he has not shown me the damn good fighter status yet. But he has improved tremendously since his draw with Diaz.Posted May 1, 2014 4:09 pm

What will be crazy is if Schaefer goes and handles Floyds Promotional Company. Schaefer has said when doing business with Arum he seems to call you names when he doesn’t get his way and then acts like everything is good the next time he sees you and he doesn’t like that and will not forgive him for that. I really have no clue what goes on behind closed doors. But from what I have seen from the super 6 tournament it just seems like that is the norm for promoters. Either way people should put their differences aside when it comes to businessPosted May 1, 2014 3:31 pm
I reckon this is going to be big news right after the Mayweather fight. Looks like Richard Schaefer is moving on from GBP and he refuses to bury the hatchet with Bob Arum.
I think its funny that Maidana is getting hated on for saying I think. You have to think it is possible before achieving the impossible. Nothing wrong with what he is saying.Posted May 1, 2014 3:22 pm
Tark Porter struggled with Diaz in the first fight and to many arguably lost the fight but was given a draw. I didn’t score the fight I just watched it and he definitely struggled with Diaz. Now in the rematch that didn’t happen but look at what Thurman did to him. That was relative ease.Posted May 1, 2014 3:20 pm
why would anyone want to change into a woman and call herself Janet ?
PEEJ.., Porter didn’t struggle with Diaz as you claim he did. He beat him with relative ease and a comfortable points margin.
Khan struggled with Diaz. It was a life-and-death struggle in his last fight … and he was lucky it was in England.
The Porter-Malignaggi fight happened a significant development period after Porter-Diaz.. Porter is still in the stage of rapid development and was 50% better verus Paulie.. So at this point in time Shawn is damned good and will be much better in his next fight.
Which hopefully will be against Floyd… Can’t beat FMJ after he retires.Posted May 1, 2014 3:12 pm

Maidana by tko. Here we go, moneys shoulder roll is to take a little off the straight right hand. Maidanas right hand is not straight at all and is clubbing, look at where the right hands landed on broiner, right by the eye and temple. that right hand landed at will, all night. Also the roll exposes moneys rightside of the body, every right handed fighter is taught to throw a double left hook. A dbl left hook will not work on money. In maidanas awkwardness he throws that right to the body under Floyd’s left elbow All day and the clubbing right hand up top similar to marquezs ko over pac man. Maidanas awkwardness and floyds age and trying to buy the clippers will be his downside. Its over! History will be made. Vamanos chino!Posted May 1, 2014 2:04 pm

Any Mayweather opponent who’s made a prediction so far has not been that believable … and that includes Marcos Maidana of course. The fight will make Marcos a great deal of money and will make Floyd a fortune … but it’s not a competitive fight from the standpoint of raw fistic analysis.
If Shawn Porter.. Manny Pacquiao.. or Erislandy Lara were the opponent – and if they made a prediction – it would be a lot more credible, because they’re damned good.
