If it goes the distance and Khan hasn’t suffered too many knockdowns, Khan will win.
However, I suspect that Khan is fooling himself in thinking that with the extra weight he’ll be better able to withstand punches. Rather, I think he’s going to discover what Ricky Hatton discovered: i.e., that Welterweights are considerably stronger and hit considerably harder than Super Lightweights, and that Collazo’s low KO record is misleading: he hits plenty hard enough to drop Khan.
Hatton was just about able to stay on his feet and hang in there in the 12th round to get the (arguably controversial) win, but I believe Khan will be stopped.
Collazo will effusively thank the Lord Jesus, and then go back to his dressing room to pray that he gets a shot at Mayweather: “please give me a big payday, Lord, pleeaassee!!”.Posted May 1, 2014 11:12 am
