the matchup is a joke. Everyone knows Mayweather is running from Pac. So Chino gets a payday and we get more garbage from Floyd.Posted April 17, 2014 5:40 pm
Plenty of advice on how to beat Bunny, sounds so simple how has no one ever thought of all this, seeing as they are professional boxers and all that advice coming in from shoe salesmen, truck drivers, waiters, roofers, etc etc etc…..Posted April 17, 2014 4:07 pm
Garbage fight! Nonsense. Worthless. This is I-want-to-look-superb fight for Mayweather.Posted April 17, 2014 3:51 pm
Just saw that Maidanas fellow countryman Carlos Baldomir is fighting next week at 43 years old and 2 years inactivity. I hope he has money, cause he was one of the true road warriors and honest fighters in boxing.Posted April 17, 2014 1:36 pm
Floyd is far from broner and had broner three more punches he would have won and we’ll better defense . If broner would have boxed and not slugged fought smart he would of won but if was a fifth we all be drunk lolPosted April 17, 2014 1:26 pm
Maidana has deceptive speed in his punches and an underrated left hook to the body. This fight is a tougher than Guerrero and Canelo, I’m not saying that he will win, but he is live. He will be Floyds most mentally tough opponent in many years.Posted April 17, 2014 12:16 pm
It’s not a lucky punch if you have been throwing it all the fight and already put Manny down with it……the punch was a blinder,it was Pacqs fault, he got careless and paid the ultimate…I’d like to see Marq do it again though….if he canPosted April 17, 2014 11:28 am
as far as Maidana vs. Floyd. I would agree with most fans that Maidana only has a punchers chance. Floyd by wide U.D.Posted April 17, 2014 8:19 am
Marquez was taking a beating from Paquiao when Paquiao got carless allowing Maquez to land his lucky punch. Marquez knows this would not happen again. I am sure he wants nothing to do with Paquiao. Marquez should have retired after knocking Manny out. it would have been quit a way to end his career.Posted April 17, 2014 8:17 am
everyone is in for a big surprise an i could care less who disagrees. this is not going to be the typical mayweather fight. i’m not saying who wins because i’m not god,but it’s going to be a very tough fight for both men. mayweather is damn good, but this will be a war. maidana is being overlooked by everyone. mayweather doesn’t overlook anyone.for that,i respect him. maidana is looking great in training and his will is huge. maidana will get hit, thats a fact.what robert garcia has done with maidana is transform and refine what he already has.he will hurt mayweather and keep coming.boycot the fight if you want, but hardcore fans will be tuning in. this will be no walk in the park for either guy. i see a classic coming.Posted April 17, 2014 6:54 am
SuckerPunch my friend, there’s no upset here, trust me. Maidana is a tough brawler and he would beat Mayweather in a bar brawl, but he was chosen to make Floyd look good. He has zero chance IMHO.Posted April 17, 2014 12:29 am
Mansfield, Who want to talk about junk again, not I . Round and around the clowns go. Marquez has a short I interview, he change him mind, say he not fighting manny again, guys a merry go
THE SECRET IN BEATING FLOYD
Maidana work Floyd’s body, work that body of Floyd like Chavez Sr used to do. This will stop FloydPosted April 17, 2014 12:08 am
Mike Tyson if you believe everything Arum tells the media I got some swamp land for sale you might be interested in. The fight was derailed because Arum told Manny to walk away other the random blood testing. Manny would allow it but not 4 days before the fight because needles made him weak its all over youtube. Floyd said hell no he wanted testing up to the fight for himself as well nothing unreasonable about that if a man has nothing to hide why would he walk away from the biggest fight in boxing history over 4 days? Second Manny climbed 8 divisions not only that he gained power and speed where in he history of the sport has anyone did that? Now he is looking real average good but certainly not the wrecking ball he once was he is off the juice the PEDSPosted April 16, 2014 11:59 pm
mansworld, them why did he change him mind, before the fight he said yes he fight manny if he win.
Asians has a tremendously good chance to win this fight .I do believe Chino will be well planned and ready to work Floyd.Posted April 16, 2014 11:37 pm
Mike no one is afraid of Manny especially not Marquez a guy that beat him more than once and KTFO of him. You retard everyone is afraid of Manny what a joke. Enough is enough no one is interested in a Marquez 5 I guess the theory is keep fighting until Manny wins? Its really time to move on. Manny can never fight the likes of Floyd of Danny Garica both on which woule be huge fights because of his contract. You moron Manny is under contract and you ass clowns believe Arum would let him fight Floyd? Yeah like he said he was building a stadium and had billion dollar investors. This fight could have been huge in 09 today Manny is broke and Floyd is still number 1. Manny needs Flyd now more than ever….Posted April 16, 2014 11:34 pm
Truthfully boxing talk, maidana has the lobbing floater over hand right or the clubbing right counter, 2-4 this punch was connecting on broner, and opened him up for his left too. Perfect for low left hands true Floyd does move his head and goes down, but I have a feelings if any punch get through right hand would. Other than that it’s a U.D for Floyd. Fight still a long way off it’s after Hopkins and porter and paulie fights.Posted April 16, 2014 11:19 pm
Have everybody heard the news? Marquez has change his mind and don’t want to fight manny, he said that, the same thing he beat him by ko And he see no reason for a fight, has nothing to prove. He said PAC should fight Floyd . PAC look to crazy busy. and isn’t fading Marquez chicken out is proof.Posted April 16, 2014 11:10 pm
Jonn E. JaGozza, of course your words, maidana is a slow slugger, he not a fast busy PAC or bradley who would butter ball Floyd head all night. he hand pick to make Floyd look untouchable. Floyd win a easy U.D. And Floyd fans say he the best 0o…… great one, what balls do you want scratch. Left or right. Humor boys, j.k. But I see there are a few ready for PAC and Floyd.Posted April 16, 2014 11:01 pm
Make no mistake about it folks. Floyd won’t LOSE his discipline like Bradley. He will stay off the ropes and out of the corners. He will stay in the middle of the Ring and Box Manny’s SOCKS off.Posted April 16, 2014 10:55 pm
Boxtradamus. Go play with your ding ding, stick with what you do best.Posted April 16, 2014 10:53 pm
And he DID WIN by robbery. Tim robbed HIMSELF by LOSING his discipline PLAYING inside the Ring, laying on the ropes and in the corners, throwing telegraphed haymakers, and going toe to toe instead of standing in the middle of the Ring and Boxing. The big DUMMY.Posted April 16, 2014 10:46 pm

Mayweather will never allow anyone to trap him on the ropes and if Maidan thinks he’s going to do the same thing he did to Broner, he sadly mistaken. Maywether has too much speed and power and Maidana will pay for it … Re-watch the tapes of the Khan/ Maidana fight, Khan knocked him down with a quick body shot, Mayweather isn’t Broner, Floyd got power and remember the saying “Speed neutralizes power ” Mayweather is known for his speed.
Check Hidalgo’s predictions and you will see he covers pretty much all possibilities; if Floyd wins by decision, he got it, if by stoppage, he got it, if there’s an upset, he got it. This f’n moron keeps calling other posters names because they got a prediction wrong……..can’t wait for the day this as shole go the hell away for good.Posted April 16, 2014 8:24 pm
Maidana needs to pound his left arm and shoulder to the point of trying to dislocate it so he can’t hold it up and do that shoulder roll. Then bust his jaw. Be relentless on that left arm and shoulder. Nobody ever tried it. It would work.Posted April 16, 2014 7:51 pm

“Maidana deserves this fight. Nice payday. Though I think this fight resembles the Gatti fight. Floyd by stoppage” – Agree with PEEJ but not on the KO. Maidana has a beard and Floyd’s not KOing dudes anymore. The Gatti comparison will come because Gatti should’ve gone out there pressuring Floyd and going for the KO. Instead he tried outboxing him and was a sitting duck. In this case Maidana’s punch count must be high but it won’t be.Posted April 16, 2014 5:16 pm
Since it’s a GBP press release I”ll presume Maidana is sweating bullet in a state of panic.Posted April 16, 2014 5:14 pm
Hecdog agrees with ME. Maidana is facing a guy with an Unprecedented SKILL level. He has NO chance other than LUCK. Floyd is getting older. Maybe he pulls both bicep muscles during the Fight and is no longer able to punch. Or maybe something else LUCKY happens. Thats Maidana’s only shot against the GOAT.Posted April 16, 2014 4:01 pm
When World CHAMPS don’t have a prayer against you thats called GOATNESS.Posted April 16, 2014 3:53 pm
Another effortless win to add to the resume of the fighter who is destined to knock the great Ray Robinson off the all time P4P throne. Wish Floyd would just retire. Frankly, I’m getting bored with watching the guy.Posted April 16, 2014 3:53 pm
Maidana doesn’t have a chance. I wouldn’t pay 10 cents to watch this Fiasco…………Posted April 16, 2014 3:30 pm
Regardless of what level people think Maidana is at, he is absolutely a live dog. He’s dangerous as hell. If Floyd slips up in there, Maidana has the experience and power to make him pay. We can sit here and say that Maidana is hand picked, but this is no walk in the park. Maidana has every intention of taking Floyd’s head off if given the opportunity.
Maidana does indeed deserve this fight, but it’s going to be really, really tough.
I’m pretty excited to see this.Posted April 16, 2014 3:22 pm
Floyd just fought Canelo, I would consider him a young lionPosted April 16, 2014 3:04 pm
Maidana, good fighter, but nowhere up to it on this one…..tough kid, doesn’t have the smarts for Bunny who I don’t think can stop him,……He will be demoralized by 5 or 6 rounds then just look to hang in…..Posted April 16, 2014 3:02 pm
Speed will kill. Floyd will hit Maidana at will, will be one step ahead, and his shell will not be there. Floyd is no broner.
I’m preaching to the converted, but Mayweather picks his fights. Maidana has a punchers chance. Having said that, someone must eventually beat Floyd, it’s one of the many things that piss me off about today’s fight game…. The all important 0!Posted April 16, 2014 1:54 pm
Slow, come straight at you Maidana. If he is not tailor made for Mayweather, who is?.Posted April 16, 2014 1:54 pm
Don’t know why maidana so heavy, of he dont arrive at 146lb his fighting weight both for Alexander and broner. He going to be a dead slow duck. I don’t think they went for more muscle and power as that would slow his speed in exchange for power.
World Boxing Council has released the results of the 30-day mandatory weigh-in, which Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Marcos Maidana were subject to. They are going to collide in a WBC/WBA welterweight unification on May 3rd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Mayweather (45-0, 26KOs), who walks around at 150-pounds, was only 149.8-pounds – less than three pounds away from the welterweight limit of 147. Maidana (35-3, 31KOs) was much bigger, coming in at 158-pounds, but with more than enough time to shave off 11-pounds. There will also be a seven day weigh-in coming up, where neither boxer can weigh more the 154-pounds a week before the fight.Posted April 16, 2014 1:47 pm
It’s easy for Floyd to look unbeatable when he fights slow flat footed fighters… I wish Floyd and PAC would fight some of these young guys like Thurman and Shawn Porter…Posted April 16, 2014 1:20 pm
I just think he will be too fast and in my opinion it will resemble that fight. I don’t think he will do the same exact thing were he is landing 6 punches before Maidana gets off 1. But I think we will be seeing more combos is this fight and then Floyd moving out the way. I do think he stops him though around the 9th or 10th round. The body shots Floyd puts in will do the most damage.Posted April 16, 2014 12:58 pm
This card is stacked and I personally want to see Khan fight Broner if they both get the wins. Likely that Khan will get Floyd next though. Should be a good night of fights. Nobody is picking Maidana but I give him more of a shot than Canelo. Mayweather is the best though, still looking unbeatable.Posted April 16, 2014 12:49 pm
“Maidana deserves this fight. Nice payday. Though I think this fight resembles the Gatti fight. Floyd by stoppage”
This fight will bear vague similarity to the Gatti fight Peej. Maidana has better skills, much more power, and a better chin. What Maidana does have in common with Gatti, are courage, determination, and heart. But if Gatti were alive and in his prime today, Maidana would tear him up. Gatti would be a bloody mess. Then he’d be knocked out.Posted April 16, 2014 12:34 pm
“Maidana has zero chance.”
This is not true at all, Hecdog. As a matter of fact, most of your comments are incorrect. Maidana has speed, just nowhere near that of Floyd’s. Maidana has greatly improved his boxing skills since teaming up with Robert Garcia–nearly every boxing expert in the business had observed this and voiced their observations. Maidana exhibited very good head movement and feinting in his fight with Broner. Maidana no longer just “plods” straight forward. Garcia has taught him to mix up his attack. Nor are all of Maidana’s punches “telegraphed.” This is why he was able to beat up Broner so badly–Broner never saw the punches coming. You also need to pay more attention to Maidana’s fights. He does slip and he does counter, but these are not his strongsuits.
Maidana has much more than good power and a tough chin, and in my opinion, Marcos will give Floyd his toughest fight since Miguel Cotto. All the tricks Maidana used on Broner will work on Floyd. But to what effectiveness remains to be seen.
Nonetheless, Floyd’s ass will taste the canvas at least once. But even so, I expect Floyd to win by UD or late TKO. If Floyd can wear Maidana down and prey on his fatigue, he will likely take Maidana out.Posted April 16, 2014 12:30 pm
Hecdog-That is why it is called ‘an upset’. On paper Maidana is supposed to get owned by Floyd, but then watch Maidana put Floyd to sleep. I am not saying it is going to happen. I am picking the obvious choice. I think that Floyd will absolutely own Maidana, but what if………?Posted April 16, 2014 12:26 pm
Maidana deserves this fight. Nice payday. Though I think this fight resembles the Gatti fight. Floyd by stoppagePosted April 16, 2014 12:24 pm
nothing to lose, no pressure, nice payday….not too bad of a position if you’re marcos maidana.Posted April 16, 2014 12:20 pm
Marcos will score a knockdown and send the crowd into a frenzy. Then Floyd will retreat into his defensive shell and win the fight by pot-shotting UD. As usual.Posted April 16, 2014 12:20 pm
Maidana has zero chance. Mayweather couldn’t have picked a better guy, Maidana has no speed, boxing skills, movement, defense, no head movement, plods straight forward, throws and telegraphs wild wide punches, doesn’t slip or counter. Maidana has good power and a tough chin. Nothing else period. Come Floyd Mayweather, we’re not all fools thinking this is a real challenge. Foolish to buy this set up PPV fight card. Go to a sports bar and catch it free.Posted April 16, 2014 12:19 pm
In 12 rounds, one of those looping shots will hit Mayweather and everything will be hanging in the balance. I hope he can survive because Manny Pacquiao will finish him in September.Posted April 16, 2014 12:14 pm
He can be as cool and confident as he wants. Those wide, looping shots aren’t going to land. He will lose via UD and probably by shutout.Posted April 16, 2014 12:07 pm
