Unfortunately Juanma is shot..

100% correct….I wish him the best but he is just not the same fighter anymore….I see Ponce winning this one in a great battle.

“Ponce got lucky vs ‘Boom Boom’, which is why he wanted a rematch with him after he was smoked by JuanMa”. TITOPA, when a fighter fails to rebound from a quick KO loss you can assume that he was exposed by superior competition. however, when a fighter not only rebounds but continues to win and contend for several years afterwards v. prospects and champions alike, you can assume that his first-round KO loss was a fluke, i.e., it’s only happened once and never v. competition that we now know is vastly superior to Lopez. as far as styles, Lopez has the perfect style for Ponce to KO. he leans forward and tries to slug his way in and out of situations. he just got lucky to catch Ponce first. a wiser De Leon doesn’t let it happen ever again. particularly not v. Lopez who all of you are now describing as “shot” but who i accurately assessed was never that good to begin with, which Salido demonstrated twice and Salido always loses to the elite competition.

Win or lose juanma is always in an entertaining fight. Dude has a lot of heart.

te tumbo – Had Ponce been on the other end of the punch you wouldn’t be calling it Lucky. In that case, Ponce got lucky vs “Boom Boom”, which is why he wanted a rematch with him after he was smoked by JuanMa…I picked JuanMa to beat Ponce via KO, it was styles, Ponce was too much of a brawler for JuanMa, you had to be more than that (at that point). Now, yes, JuanMa is NOT the same, his chin has been cracked too many times and he will most likely be stopped the next time it’s hit flush. But if this were 5-6 years ago, I’d pick JuanMa (again) to stop Ponce.

Squared-Circle Real Talk (a.k.a. LionKing)

Great rematch here! But this time, Ponce De Leon is going to pound Juanmono and get the W. Looks like Lopez’s legs are starting to go and he can’t take hard shots the way he used to.

The Mad Scientist

Can’t wait for this one, someone will be crying soon enough..Lol

TITOPA, like i said, JuanMono was Never that good and i didn’t wait for Salido to kick his ass in Bayamamon to point it out. i immediately noted Lopez’s lack of elite skills and ring-smarts after watching the give-and-take action between Lopez and a smaller and older Penalosa in the final bout of Penalosa’s career and Yes. his KO of Ponce was a lucky fluke. i see Lopez running and trying to protect his exposed chin and jaw v. a hard-charging and powerpunching De Leon. Ponce is gonna make him pay a steep price for derailing his own ascent with that lucky KO punch that just happened to land right on the button. mark my words, Lopez is going down very Hard in this one.

te tumbo – “a fluke”? C’mon. I like Ponce, but I predicted a fairly easy win for JuanMa in their first fight, Ponce was tailor made for him…comes in a straight line and he’s (was) open for short hooks on the inside, which was/is JuanMan’s bread and butter. Even now. This is going to be tough for Ponce, it’s just the styles, JuanMa will be a nightmare for him.

Te Tumbo, of course Juanma has many limitations but is not like Ponce de León doesn’t have any

JuanMono was never that good. his bouts v. Gerry Penalosa and Mtagwa revealed that. his KO win over Ponce was also a fluke. i’m gonna enjoy watching Ponce get his revenge in a rematch that Lopez would’ve never granted if not for the fact that he has no choice. he’s simply not that good and Never was.

This fight won’t be easy for Juanma, I’m hoping Ponce doesn’t KO him

Posted March 13, 2014 10:40 am

From his last 2 fights Juan Ma has no legs. He gets hurt from punches that don’t seem extremely powerful. He is shot.

dont believe the hype. juan ma is shot

Juanma wins by knockout or unanimous decision. Either way he wins! juanma makes another run before getting taken out by nonito. Arum is using him for this sole purpose. juanma beas deleon, then vasquez jr. then looses to donaire.

Wat careers? They are shot.

Posted March 12, 2014 10:54 pm

What careers? they never really had one! Maybe as stepping stones I guess.

It’s Me, Ernie

I would go with Ponce DE Leon on this one. It seems like Juanma has nothing left…
